great buy

i have purchased a jvc car stereo for my truck and i liked its features so i bought a jvc for my car too.

Good little unit with a small catch

This has been a great unit so far. Truthfully, I haven't had an opportunity to really play with all the settings, but the one thing that is fairly annoying is that the volume level between radio stations and bluetooth input is so drastic, that if you forget to turn it down before changing it back to FM, you'll blow yourself right out of the car!

I have a previous model equivalent to this so when my sister needed a new stereo I got this one for her. She absolutely loves it!!!!!

jvc radio

Awesome product. Pretty easy to install and user friendly. Had it installed in my civic in less than 30 minutes

Works as advertised

I was looking for a USB + bluetooth system that would be able to play CDs too. This is one of the few systems that fit the mark and didn't break the bank.

Pretty happy with it's performance so far. A couple of minor things
- selecting which phone to play audio from when multiple phones are connected via bluetooth isn't immediately apparent and I still haven't figured it out.
- the buttons are a little flimsy
Not deal breakers by any measure.


Sonic's shipping was fast and the included fitting hardware makes it cheaper than any other place online.

good headunit!

Installed this headunit in a frjends car.. really brought the stock speakers toife.. good controls and the jvc bluetooth works great.. i reccomend this unit as a great starting point.. or just to maximize a factory system..

wasnt impressed

I liked this product when I first got it but the bluetooth got very annoying. It freezes up sometimes and won't let me switch songs. Usually I can just hit play on the stereo when I get in the car but sometimes I have to use my phone to hit play. Lastly the radio sounds terrible and very staticky Everything thing else works well though.

great deal

The JVC KD R740BT stereo I purchased from Sonic Electronics was a excellent choice. Everything you could ask for in a car stereo has it in this model. Sound quality and adjustability is excellent as well as the Bluetooth feature works very well. installation was very easy as it came supplied with wiring plug kit for my vehicle. Overall I would purchase again from Sonic Electronic. The prices are great and there shipping is very fast. Will do business with them again.

Great unit for the price. Hands free calling is great.

am radio signal strength very poor

I live in a city of 100,000 so not a huge amount of radio stations. This JVC has no AM signal strength. Very disappointed and sent it back. Can't come close to the Pioneer super tuner signal strength on AM or FM radio. All else is ok.

great radio

Bought this for my husband, double checked with customer service that the radio would fit. Great customer service. Easy installation. This radio has everything, USB, bluetooth, and even CD player. Good sound. Very pleased with purchase.

Packed with Features

First off I have never been a fan of JVC head units, but this one was packed with so many features I had to try it out.

For the money you cant' go wrong. BT works great for streaming and for taking calls.

The eq is perfect, and the adjustments for amps etc work really well.

I wanted this also for the 4x22 RMS output, I have it hooked up to 2 sets of 4"x6" speakers and it is plenty powerful for that.

I have the front preamps going to 6.5" components and the rear preamps going to two 10" subs.

I am running a 4 channel amp to power all of those.

This deck has all the features we needed, and for the price can't be beat, and the remote is super easy and simplified which is something else I liked about this product.

Only drawback is getting used to navigating the menus, I feel some other companies have simpler menus, but this is a small gripe.
