This wiring harness makes it extremely easy to install after market stereo.

I bought it because i wanted to install an after market stereo on my 1996 Lincoln Town car and it works great. It's easy to install and has the antenna cable.

More than I Expected!

If youre having troubles with your install (ford explorer/mercury mountaineer) with premium sound and SEARCHED ALL OVER for correct wiring harness, this IS the one. I ididnt want to pay for another useless component but as soon as I got it (2 days sooner than I was told) I immediately went to complete my install and FINALLY got my after market headunit working....If youre having problems just get it, plenty of wire length and attaches right on.

Perfect Fit ! Metra 70-5601

I ordered this after trying several others that claimed to work with the JBL system in the Ford Explorer. They do work for some models but not the Premium JBL. (small plug issue) THIS Metra 70-5601 on the other hand works flawlessly. Takes some doing to channel the wiring from the rear to front but I did it in under 30 minutes with the hardest thing being the connections. Worked perfect with my Alpine ida-x305 system. Best Buy recommends the same harness. You lose the sub....but can be added easily. Best thing.. the price !

Just what I needed

I recommend buying this product of you are replacing the head unit with a aftermarket unit. I bypassed the factory amp with the wiring . I thought the system wouldn't sound good , but boy was I wrong. The after market head unit made the system sound great. I wanted to keep my factory amp with subwoofer for the car , but am glad that the harness bypassed amp and along with fm wiring for antenna to work off tuner. Simply as one two three with special harness for ford JBL premium system with subwoofer. I probably will add amp or new amp to subwoofer just for better system. So don't worry about if system will sound good because it will.

I took out all of the amps and the tuner so I had to wire my speakers directly to my head unit instead of sending it back I just used the wires still worked great.

Good quality, medicore instructions

The look, fit and quality are great, the instructions were less than adequate. I installed a Pioneer radio and kit in a 98 Mazda B400 but it took me half a day to finally figure out the instructions. The kit works as promised. But for the installation confusion, I give the kit a 5 star rating.
