JVC KT-HD300

The JVC KT-HD300 unit was easy to install/connect, to my JVC-BT11 HD ready, bluetooth, CD car stereo radio.

Woks great but is too big

Other than the size and trying to find somewhere to put it I have had no problems out of this tuner. It works great when there are hd stationd nearby. But as said in other reviews, installing it would be easier if it was smaller.

Function=good, form=terrible!

This box does what it's supposed to, but installing it was a nightmare. First the box is too large. I can't understand why this circuit can't be miniaturized into a smaller box. Second, there is absolutely no attaching hardware whatsoever, nor any provisions for same on the case. There is no way to rigidly secure this large, unwieldy box to your car. You will have to tape, velcro, bunjee, or some other half-cocked measure. Third, it has a hard-tethered J-bus cord that is only a few feet long, so your mounting location options will be limited. If I had any other option, I would have taken it. This needs to be smaller and more installation-friendly.

Good purchase if you want hd radio

This certainly works well, uses oem antanae plug in.

The real question is 'do you like hd radio?'..

Good:
works great, HD radio sounds surprisingly nice with my aftermarket equipment.

BAD:
it's kinda big, and I had to get creative with the install, wish it was not so big.

jvc hd tuner

This is a great product. There are free HD channels that give great reception. There are usually 2-3 channels on your favorite stations. I have had no issues with this product what so ever.

Get it anyway

I have owned this product since May 2009 and enjoy it each time I drive. Here are my thoughts.
I find that the stations skip through the song (like a skipping CD), making it hard to listen to a whole song or station.

Please don't waste your time.

I uninstalled this after just a month. HD radio tuners replace the tuner built-in to your stock radio is my first complaint. especially because the sensitivity of the HD300 is higher than my head unit.

Second and most important is the switching. It's SOOOOOO ANNOYING!!

If an HD station was available it plays it and it sound great but then you drive out of range and it automatically switches back to analog which sounds ok, not bad but the transition is really a deal breaker.

And yes, within your radio you can disable auto switching but I found with my head unit (JVC KW-XR810) it goes back to automatic on it's own.
