Mixed feelings

The remote control is worthless, the buttons stick, so nothing is changed when you intended to. I prefer to listen to a station that is on the HD2 band. However every time you turn off the unit it returns to the HD1 mode. It is very annoying to have to constantly reset to HD2 every time I start the vehicle. Otherwise the sound quality is good. Reception is good if not inside my garage.

JVC stand alone HD tuner

I purchased this to replace my factory add on PAC HD tuner to be used with a Clarion headunit. The unit has poor reception and fades in and out constantly. The in car kit has too many wires and that makes it hard for a clean install. Its portable so i used it indoors................forget it, it picks up nothing inside. It does have some nice features like built in EQ, presets, volume etc. but I would not purcashe this product again.

decent

good addition to sound system since my headunit has everything but HD radio. HD unit can be installed to broadcast through the headunit's car antenna connection or externally by wire connection. HD tuner must be antenna connected to bring in AM stations. the remote is a must.
