Love it!!
This is a great unit. Went in to my 94 4Runner with the stock brackets (I did a little adjustment to move it into the dash 1/4 inch more)
the only complaint is the fact it says its compatible with my iPhone 5 but the apps don't work, JVC is aware of this and has NOT updated the software yet.

2000 Mercury Grand Marquis
This is a top notch head unit but I would like to add, This ***Can not*** be directly installed in the 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis without heavy modifications. Though the factory radio appears to be a double din. It is not. There is a plastic heater duct running directly above the top of the factory radio. The only way to fit a double din in this location is to modify the duct work.

So-So
I would recommend this product as a mid-tier, affordable receiver. It's not bad, and it gets the job done, however, the Bluetooth is a little iffy, it can be a pain to get it connected to phone media, it almost always connects to phone audio (manually mind you) but not always phone media (so it can play music). It's travel app is also only the Iphone app, which, having an android, this does not work at all for me, and I hated that app when I tried to use it in the Iphone, it's USB is also Iphone only, if you don't have an Iphone and you plug it into USB, it is nothing more than a charger at that point.

great features, pitiful receiver
This unit does everything we hoped for when we bought it. All except receive AM and FM broadcasts that is. On FM it receives only a few of the strongest local stations, and I mean VERY local. Like within 10 miles. Granted the window antenna on our Honda Pilot is mediocre at best, the factory radio being replaced did just fine with it. Stations that we normally listen to on the old radio can't be heard at all on this one. Luckily the XM radio works well. If listening to broadcast radio isn't important to you, this is a great unit. BTW, the chassis does bolt right up, but the faceplate does NOT match the size opening in the dash panel of a 2004 Honda Pilot.

Great Head Unit
So far this is a fantastic unit. I've been in the car audio business for 24 years this was an easy install into my 94 4Runner. I'm enjoying the simplicity as well as the many options. I haven't delved into the backgrounds and changing the text color and such.
But alas I have an iPhone 5 and the apps are NOT WORKING!! but I'm not surprised as the iPhone 5 has given me many problems..

Great device, good deal!
The unit is working as intended, properly. The sound is good enough for an average music listener. The bass could be more deep, but that depend on what kind of speakers do you have installed on your car.
The rear view function is working just fine, but you are advised to not rely on that but to use it in combination with classic mirrors.
The DVD function is very well implemented so you can watch movies or video clips. I couldn't read any USB devices via USB port, but it still charges your phone. I'm using Android SmartPhone so I cannot tell you anything about syncing with an iPhone, Pandora or Apps. I can use Pandora from my phone through BlueTooth connection which is very nice. Actually, I can deliver whatever music or AV files via BT. The hands free option is very useful specially when you're driving for long distances, helping you to keep your hands on the wheel and to focus on driving, which you're supposed to do by definition.
This model doesn't have Navigation or Sirius Satellite Radio, but you can achieve them by installing the additional modules dedicated to these functions.

Great product and features
This is my first after market radio but I love having it and all the features. The EQ settings are great and the background colors you can change match the interior colors of my Tacoma perfectly. Bluetooth works great and never a problem connecting automatically when I get in the car. One complaint is that the radio shakes a lot against the dash install kit when I'm on even a semi bumpy road and I have yet to find a solution to this. Sonic electronix was great to work with and have the best prices I could find. I recommended them to my brother and recommend them to anyone looking for a great stereo.

Stick with Pioneer
Not happy with this unit or purchase. Looks somewhat out of place in my Jeep Wrangler. Had to hook up external amp with high level to get decent sound output. Contacted JVC about the issue, was a waste of time. The unit froze up on me once and runs slow at times. Wish I would of got a Pioneer. Only downfall of online purchasing is you cant try it before you buy it. Have yet to try the apps.
