Pretty close to perfect, but....

What can I say about this unit that hasn't already been said? This thing is amazing! I've been using this unit for a little over a week now and I can say that overall, I'm pretty pleased. Having not to purchase a seperate HD unit was a big selling point for me. With my previous unit (Pioneer AVIC-F90BT) the HD module had to be purchased seperately. Start-up time is super quick. Much faster than my previous unit. The navigation seems to work flawlessly and the Total Traffic Network is a BIG plus in this area. iPod controls work great but the connection is somewhat awkward. Sound adjustments really allow you to get the most out of this unit as well as whatever your current speaker set-up is. The custom start-up and shut-down message is pretty cool too. When paired with a rearview camera, it works flawlessly everytime you shift into reverse. I love being able to stream Pandora via bluetooth from my HTC EVO. Although the detachable face is fairly hefty, it's great to have especially since my truck is only driven about 1wk a month. This unit would definitely get 5 stars if the iPod connection was in the rear. I would definitely recommend this unit to a friend. Current set-up in 06 Chevy Avalanche: JVC KW-NT50HDT, JL AUDIO C5-650 6.5"/6.75" COMPONENT SPEAKERS (front & rear), Custom sub enclosure Under Rear Seat, DUAL Kicker 10CVX104, Kenwood KAC-9105D, Kicker ZX350.4 and Power Acoustik PC2.0F Capacitor. I would definitely recommend this unit to a friend. Current set-up in 06 chevy avalanche: jvc kw-nt50hdt, JL Audio c5-650 6.5"/6.75" component speakers (front & rear), custom sub enclosure under rear seat, dual Kicker 10cvx104, kenwood kac-9105d, Kicker zx350.4 and power acoustik pc2.0f capacitor.

Pros: Detachable Face, HD Radio built in, Total Traffic Network, News, Sports & Weather available on unit, quick Start-up time.

Cons: Navigation lacks 3D landmarks, Navigation graphics "cartoon like", No rear iPod connection.

JVC KW-NT50HDT

The following review is for KW-NT50HDT-RB, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

Bought this unit about a year ago so I've pretty much put it through it's paces. Love it. What to like:
1. detachable face plate
2. run Pandora off USB and it works great
3. GPS is very good; not top notch but good enough for me; will have to upgrade maps as many highways have changed here in the Northeast.
4. DVD player is awesome
5. did install myself and wasn't that bad in 08 Tacoma

This System Does It All

I purchased this a few months ago and installed it myself. It was very easy to install using the Cructhfield supplied cable that allows direct connection to the factory connections. This system is top notch and will do everything you could ask for. First off it has the standard radio channels like AM and FM, but does anyone even listen them anymore? So add the JVC SiriusConnect and you have satellite radio at its best. But still if thats not enough radio for you this thing has HD-Radio built in so you can even listen to all your local favorite HD stations. But if that isn't enough for your Radio listening pleasure how about streaming iHeartRadio or Pandora to this machine via bluetooth from your phone. Thats right you can stream iTunes, iHeartRadio, Pandora or even DSAudio from your Synology disk station at home. So how about the navigation feature? I've taken a few long hauls with this and I have to say that one of the neat features is once you plug in your destination a few states away, no matter how many times you stop or go looking for gas or food this thing will always bring you back to the route it planned for you, even after you turn the vehicle off, start it up and it picks up where you left off, Nice touch! Ohh and because this device has Total Traffic HD network built in you can set this navigation system to automatically alert and re-route you around congestion and accidents on the route. The maps and navigation system are the same as the leading GPS manufacturer uses and you pretty much won't notice a difference if you were using one of those devices. I was on a wild goose chase looking for a historic landmark a few weeks ago but all i had was the gps coordinates, no problem, input them into the nab systems and it will take you to the spot! I found every landmark using the coordinates I got off the wikipedia site! How about a little about the other features, you can hook up your iPod, or iPhone via usb and listen to your whole library. Or your can load and SD card and play your library from there. Or pop a DVD in watch a movie while your waiting for you significant other at the store. There are so many other things it can do, connect a backup camera and eliminate that blind spot behind you. I love the detachable front panel, and the nice padded case to put it in when you want to wander off with it in your pack and not leave it for thieves. If you have an iPad you can connect that to this system too through the video input. It also has a built in Equalizer with many presets or you can create your own presets too. And what about the Total Traffic HD network? Since JVC released the new firmware the traffic information is now updated view the iHeart Radio Network. This is awesome, so now even when your in an area with sparse or no Traffic Network Coverage you can get all the information down to your system in just minutes. Blue tooth works flawless to my iPhone, you can dial from the phone or the head unit. To say this system rocks is an understatement! Buy it you won't be sorry!
