Very Impressed
I have owned this product since May 2009 and enjoy it each time I drive. Here are my thoughts.
This unit is well laid out. Great display and graphics with many features, from maps - movies, radio - ipod and even SD card. Blue tooth is a must these days and works well. Ipod? everyone has one, spend the money for the ipod adapter. You will not regret it. HD radio? I find that the stations skip through the song (like a skipping CD), making it hard to listen to a whole song or station. The rear-view camera is PHENOMINAL, we love it. It covers the same area as from R side mirror - L side mirror.
The Navteq maps work well but are a little out of date. Some of our roads are still farm fields and mountains in this units map. Worse yet, JVC offers no update. You must go directly to Navteq, who, coincidentally charges for the mapping update for this unit, which is not even available yet (frustrating). At least 1 free map update should be offered, especially when you just purchase a system that has been on a shelf for how long? And the maps are so far outdated.
Other than maps being outdated, the nav. part of the system works great, with pinpoint accuracy.
This unit is well worth the coin!
Pros: Tilting face, removable face, very easy to use, all options.
Cons: MAPPING (is out of date). Very upsetting! :(

dependable unit
Pros
This has been working in my Toyota Sienna reliably for the past 4 years. navigation map is excellent. Only occasionally has trouble finding GPS signal.
Cons
It is annoying that there is no way to dim the screen at night. This function could have been added with no effort. The digital volume control does not have a fine enough gradient to allow you to smoothy fade volume to just the right level. the bluetooth accessory never worked properly with the unit despite replacing the accessory twice.

JVC Navigation Head Unit
The Kw-Nx7000 is an awesome product. Has almost every bell and whistle you can ask for. It is real easy to use, instructions are very thorough. One of my tweeters went out, and the unit had a auto shutoff if one of your speakers is damaged and might cause damage to the unit. The only thing I did not like was when I bought it the navigation map was already two years outdated (2007 software) and the upgrade from Navteq is $169.00 after shippiing is added, and in my area there is a lot of new construction in the past two years and the navigation goes "blank" in a lot of areas around my city. Other than that you can add almost anything you want to the deck: Hd radio, satellite radio, SD memory cards, portable hard drives, blue tooth phones and blue tooth audio devices (On the blue tooth phone everything is available on the touch screen(Phone book, texts, etc.)) You can also detach the entire screen for security purposes. Great product!!!!!

decent
This unit is decent. The JVC menus have always been pretty forthright and easy to figure out. The value for dollar is probably better than anything else in the market right now. I added bluetooth (ksbta200) and iPod (ksu20), both work. Navigation works fine.
Pros:
Detachable face is pretty tight.
Proximity sensor (you can program the proximity sensor so that the illumination goes off until your hand approaches) is pretty tight.
Programmable start up and shut down messages is pretty tight.
Cons:
Even with the ksu20 direct USB ipod cable, navigating the ipod menu from the unit is slow. Every time you push a button, it says "please wait" for at least 5 seconds. EVERY time. Very irritating.
I park in a garage. When you start the car in the garage it reads "Lost GPS signal". This is understandable until you get out of the garage, but instead it stays that way for awhile, even 10 minutes after you've left. It seems it cannot recognize the signal if started up without one...
Other than that, price is right, quality is good, and it is easy to use. I've come to realize that there is no "perfect" unit, which works EXACTLY the way you want it to in EVERY single way.

JVC KW-NX7000
The unit itself is very good. I have the BlueTooth adapter working with an Lg cell..no problems. I have the Satellite adapter for sirius and it does it's job but don't expect the same as the pods for scrolling what is on other stations. The dvd /cd work great, lots of features to change screen adjust sound for your liking. The navigation is good ,voice direction is somewhat clear the map is readable but the drawback,my unit is six months old and the map by Navteq is very outdated. THE MAP UPDATE FOR A BRAND NEW UNIT IS 135 DOLLARS and JVC says they have nothing to do with it. SO please keep that in mind when you go to purchase a JVC you might want to spend on another product because the map upgrade adds to the cost.

Great DVD and GPS double din head unit
I've had this from August, 09 and have not had any complaints.
Pros: Sonics Price, Equalizer, Touch Screen, Tilt options, Removable Screen, and the ease of using it - either by touching screen or button presses
Cons: 3 things- 1) It took to long to install...didn't know I was going to be custom installing it even though it had a green check next to it for my car. 2) The warning screen that comes on every time you drive...anymore if I'm just driving down the street or so I don't even hit the "Okay I Accept" button; I just ignore it. 3) Some of the roads or maps are out dated but not a biggie.

My first DVD and GPS head unit.
I bought this in August and haven't regretted it. For the price that it sells on here why would you pass it up.
Pros. Eq, DVD, and GPS all in one unit. Tilt Screen and it completely removes for security purposes.
Cons. the maps are a little out of date but I don't care...It's a upgrade from no GPS
So far no problems although I have not used everything on it yet. Although, I know I got a great stereo now

GPS\Satelite & HD Radio\ DVD PLAYER
This product does it all. Though Satelite radio doesn't work well in the trees. The GPS has gotten us out of many a pickle. But beaware that when looking for Diners. IT might send you to Joe Diners House or Dolly Diners House.
In The Washington D.C. Area we would be lost without this product.
It can be frustrating trying to get to certain screens such as changing from toll roads, fastest or shortest. We wish there was a Most direct route option. Also we wish the system was faster when trying to get to pois and search results.

Best all around unit yet
I have or have owned and used Navagation indash units from Alpine, Pionner and Kenwood. This is by far the best yet.
Pro's..
Traffic without XM radio, that shows how many lanes and what lane(s) to take to follow your route if multiple are avail. Posted speed limits shown for most highways and major streets.
Screen and interface is Very nice.
Bluetooth is BY FAR the best yet. Phone book takes 2 sec (190 entry's transfered) and Voice dialing.
Navigation lets you search for address and destination by phone number and is purely memory driven. No need to swap out disc's.
Removable double din face with included nice carry / storage pouch.
Cons.
Slightly slow Ipod everything. Not enough to matter at all.
No custom wallpapers, yet is a Windows operating system.
About a 20 sec start up delay, till the navigation is functional.

Great Product
The JVC NX-7000 is a great investment. I have used Kenwood, Alpine, and Pioneer, and the usability of the JVC is by far the best for the price. The navigation works flawlessly, as well as the bluetooth option. I really enjoy the SD card function. This unit has a very nice EQ and bass adjustments also, which is great if you have a subwoofer system. The only bad thing about the unit is that the ipod function is extremely slow, but if you don't like the waiting time on the ipod function, you can transfer your songs/data to an SD card, which is much, much faster.
Sonicelectronix.com is a great site to purchase from also because they provide you with a deal on all of the required installation accessories and fast shipping.

Excellent Unit
I have the NX-7000BT (bluetooth included model). This unit is great. I especially like the NAVTEQ navigation that's built in. It's my first navigational unit and so far the direction has been dead on here in chicago.
At first, I did not like the DVD playback screen, but after adjusting the settings for brightness, etc. This resolution is superb now.
It lost a point with me in regards to the fact that it doesnt show radio station information (current song, artist, etc.) without the HD tuner. It also takes a while for USB drive information to load, but thats normal of most USB compatible radios now.
If you are looking for a unit that has everything, this is definitely the unit for you. Definitely consider buying now while the bluetooth and Ipod adapter are bundled in at a discount on Sonic.

Completely Satisifed
Self installation was easy and use is simple to learn. I also purchased the steering control module and it works flawlessly. Picture quality is fair but sound it is great. I also hooked up my reverse image camera to the unit and have it working as well. The large screen is a big improvement over the standard 4" GPS stand alone units and route calculation is very fast.

Excellent bang for the buck!
The JVC KW-NX7000 was a good buy for me. Had the unit for about 6 months now.
Got it on sale through Sonic Elec. and had it installed for $200 with backup cam and JVC KS-BTA200 hands free Bluetooth for calling. My installer is certified for JVC products and won't void the MFG warranty; even though they don't sell the product.
I don't use the detachable face but it's a nice option. It does stick out a litter further because of it.
Backup cam works great. No lag at startup, I put it in reverse and the video comes right up on the display. BOYO VTL420 for $80 is a great value for a license plate with night vision.
Wide range of media playing capability; I primarily use a USB jump drive to play MP3's. You can hook up almost any portable hard drive with USB connection. If you create folders with the band names and have the MP3 file name of the song; navigating is real easy. Memory card slot works well also. Used the DVD player once and that was cool.
Navigation is very easy to use. POI is awesome. Voice guided directions are clear and on top of what lane to be in even in the many loops around O’Hare airport. In some areas you might have to zoom in to see the street names but you can do a split screen. Navigation is definitely worth it because it will increase your KBB trade in value about the cost of the head unit.
Bluetooth calling is ok. It’s awesome that my phone and the JVC unit link up at startup. A little bit of an echo in call quality going through F150 stock speakers and KS-BTA200 microphone. I still use it quite often and works great. The JVC unit brings up contact and call info from my phone.
Very easy to use; never had to open the manual.
Sonic Shipped fast and had no problems.

Mediocre
The Good:
Start-up time is less than 30 sec. and it's ready to go. Menus are easy to navigate. Maps show good detail and directions are accurate. Customizable start-up & shutdown messages are a real crack-up. Bluetooth setup was flawless. Call quality is acceptable with occasional echo. Not bad, really.
The Bad:
Display isn't super high resolution. Movies look OK but not great. Definitely not HD-quality. Ipod album artwork display is poor. Does not allow custom backgrounds. Difficult to register more than one bluetooth device.
The Ugly:
Ipod searches a really, really (can't emphasize this enough) slow. Very frustrating and highly distracting while driving. Unacceptable in this price range. Locks-up Ipod occasionally. Very frustrating.
Overall great unit for sound quality and features

JVC KW-NX7000 would be an amazing buy if it was just a couple hundred cheaper.
Very happy with this unit. I put it in my 2007 Dodge Charger. A little smaller than I thought, but still a decent size. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't come with bluetooth; you need an adapter. Also it doesn't read dual layer DVDs and it has a hard time reading burned DVDs. Really it has been kind of hit or miss for me. Maybe its the software I am using, maybe not. I do know that it plays legit DVDs like a champ. Great sound, great picture (during the day not so much, but not that bad). Navigation works amazingly well. However, for the money, you could probably find a better unit.

should have passed
I ordered this about 8 months ago. it was the first part of my system. Finally got all i need for the complete install and the head unit shuts off when i press the skip button. Very disappointed with this. It has all the bells and whistles. I guess you get what you pay for. I would say do not but this head unit. Save your money and get a higher quality unit. the GPS is way off when i put an address in. I couldnt be more unhappy.

Most Versatile Car Unit I've ever owned
Most versatile car unit I've ever owned and would recommend it to anyone seeking an A/V unit with additional, useful features. The navigation system is awesome and user-friendly. All operating screens are great, easy to access and read. Programming the XM adaptor is a bit tedious and can be confusing for the un-initiated. The folks who make the adaptor could do a better job with the instructions. But, JVC has done their part well.
