Nice
Honestly don't have much to compare this unit too but it is nice so far. I was a little concerned about the lower freq. response only going to 40Hz but seems to have plenty of bass with my subwoofer.
Bluetooth microphone seems to be what can be expected from my experience. Not great but it works.
Having some problems with unit reading my iPhone 3G. Seems to be a specific order of operations that must be followed or you will get "read failed" messages constantly.
Love the features. Very easy to use.

Nice radio. Exactly what i was looking for.
I install this radio in my 2002 Infiniti I35. I keep my stock speakers. This radio has improve my sound quality by 60%. For 5th Gen Maximas and Infiniti I30 & I35 you must us a PAC-ROEMNIS2 harness. The metra harness will not work. I like the bluetooth option and the change of color of the radio. Matches the blue lighting also install in my car. Great choice before going to a touchscreen.

Great upgrade to factory system
Installed it in 2010 Nissan Frontier Extended Cab, along with the HD Radio tuner, 6"x9" Alpine SPR-69C speakers in front and 6.5" Alpine SPS-600's in rear.
Pros:
1. Very easy, intuitive navigation, especially for all the features, including large dedicated buttons for preset radio stations -- which was important to me since I listen to the radio a LOT. Menu and Back buttons make the nested menus easy, especially when using USB mass storage (up to 20,000 songs). Can Hide infrequently used menu options (such as AUX input) using Setup. Can readily "customize it" to meet your preferences. Once you've tweaked your setup, it's very easy to use.
2. Color matched my dash lights VERY well, with separate settings for the display and the buttons, including totally different setups for night and day. Display is fairly customizable, as well, in addition to choosing Negative and Positive backlighting.
3. Great internal equalizer provides different 3 adjustments for at each of at least 3 frequencies in each of the 3 broad ranges (High, Mid, Low) -- making it more like a 9 or 10 band equalizer. Can fine tune it to your speakers and the car's acoustics -- your tweaking is automatically saved as a USER preset that's easily accessed via a dedicated EQ button...
4, Strong internal amp and certainly not "over-rated" at 20 watts -- it will produce 20 watts with little noticeable distortion. With good aftermarket speakers, you may not (I don't) need an amp or separate sub, though I'm sure it would sound even better. Multiple LOUD settings to enhance low volume, but I don't use them -- just tweaked the EQ. You could boost the volume even more by jacking up the input volume (see #5 below).
5. Adjustable input volume for each input source (Aux, USB, CD, etc) other than the Radio, so you can get same output volume from each source without jarring (and possibly harmful to your ears or speakers) volume changes when switching sources. Even the Aux input sounds good, though it doesn't quite compare to the 24-bit Digital-to-Analog (DAC) converter in the headunit.
6. Clean, great sound, though I didn't try it with just the stock speakers. With all the adjustments, you can tailor it to the type of music you typically listen to. Surprising bass with these nice Alpine speakers. The stereo in my truck now blows away the Pioneer/Bose setup in my house!
7. Attractive, without being flashy. Looks almost stock... hopefully won't attract the attention of thieves!
CONS:
1. Couldn't transfer phonebook from my old Casio Boulder. Easily paired up to it, and Bluetooth works great otherwise. I just dial out using Phonebook on my cell, and the headunit takes over. Could still manually dial using headunit, but it's more cumbersome. Sounds great -- callers say it sounds like I'm just using a headset, without echoes, road noise or other distractions.
2. Didn't recognize my Sansa Clip MP3 player - perhaps because I also have a micro-card in it. Bought a 8GB USB flash drive that works great, and use it on the rear USB, hidden in glove compartment. (The tiny Bluetooth adapter stays in the front USB and isn't very noticeable at all.)
3. File names and folders still limited to 25 characters, which initially required some renaming of the files. This has little impact on the display, however, since the Tags (Artist, Album, Song Title) can contain up to 128 characters. Can select to scroll long tags once, repeatedly, or turn scrolling completely off.
4. FM radio reception isn't really any better than stock, though the sound is clearer with less static on normal AM/FM. AM reception seems better than stock, and much clearer overall. HD radio sounds GREAT, though HD stations and their range are still limited. I saw HD as an investment in the future, without subscription charges, especially since the FCC just recently approved the HD stations to increase their broadcast power (i.e. range) ten-fold or something like that.
5. Glossy faceplate and buttons show fingerprints and dust, and makes it look "less stock" than it would if it had a textured finish. Otherwise, matches stock dash very well. At night, with the colors adjusted and stored via setup, it looks like it came from the factory instead of having a multi-colored light show...
Overall, I'm VERY, VERY pleased with the upgrade. The improvement in sound (not counting flexibility of two USB inputs, AUX, HD radio, etc.) over the stock single-CD (non Rockford-Fosgate) system are simply incredible. IMO, this JVC has the most features available at this price point in a double-DIN deck, and the sound won't disappoint!

Awesome Radio
Installed this in a 2007 Tundra Doublecab, everything was included that i need from Sonic, easy install, a lot of features and the bluetooth works great, streams Pandora and music from my HTC EVO 3D perfectly, people that call me can hear me perfectly and the best part is the calls do not go though my subwoofers only the front channels. I installed the microphone on my front pilar on the driver side and it's perfect. The looks could be more up the date, but the functions are awesome and easy to customize the colors to match interior.

Very nice 2 DIN
I needed to add blue tooth to my 08 Tacoma factory stereo system I soon discovered that replacing the factory receiver with an aftermarket receiver with blue tooth build in would actually cost less. The JVC KW-XR810 looks nice and I like the variable button and display color lighting. The sound quality of this receiver esp the CD is incredible going through a pair 6X9 front 5.25 rear German made MB qart discus speakers. The only gripe I have with this receiver is the blue tooth most of the time it wont connect or it will disconnect for no apparent reason but I would still recommend this receiver.

Decent
Decent unit. The external bluetooth adapter and mic were faulty, but Sonic replaced them no probs. Feel is pretty cheap though.

Great sound and feature packed
We installed this JVC double din in my sons new Nissan Sentra along with JVC speakers. The sound inside his car is impressive to say the least! The HD radio plays great and we use the bluetooth audio streaming from our phones all the time. The mic for the bluetooth phone isnt very good and I simply think we got a bad one and needs replacement. My son love how you can select the face colors and even set it to scroll through colors randomly. JVC may not be a mainstream car audio brand but dont dismiss them to impress your friends. They make some great car audio gear!

Excellent Value, Features & Sound
Shopped for a while to find a deck that looked factory to replace my OEM unit. Excellent features, great sound and well optioned. Easy to install. Buttons could be more matt finishe to reduce finger prints, but still a good looking deck. Would recommend it to anyone trying to replace a factory deck with same type of look.

Excellent Head Unit with Bluetooth capabilities!!
I have had this for about 4 weeks and enjoy the warm sound it provides (thanks Burr/Brown DA converter). The Bluetooth feature is the most impressive as it allows you to talk (handsfree) on the phone and stream your favorite tunes from pandora/spotify etc on your tablet, smartphone, or ipod. It's extremely versatile. Love this BT feature that simplifies my life! The unit comes with preset EQ settings but to fully appreciate the warm sounds you have to use an amp and utilize the unit 3x RCA low-level output. Recommend pairing this with an alpine Class D amp.

ok value
I was happy when I first bought this unit, but I have recently hooked up an amp and subwoofer through the subwoofer preamp outputs. My problem is that the bass is way too low, I'm running a 1000bd fosgate mono amp and 1 of P3 500 rms sub. Amp's gain is all the way up so on the stereo.

Awesome Head Unit
I replaced a stock stereo in my 2006 Nissan Xterra (Non Rockford Fosgate) with this JVC model. I originally had ordered the Clarion CX609, but they were out of stock. Sonic offered this unit at a significantly reduced price instead! I am happy they did. It came with the metra dash kit for xterra, frontys, and Pathys, but I didn't need to use it. The trim ring around the stereo completely fills the gap and nothing else was necessary. The scoshe wiring harness was a breeze to crimp onto the jvc harness. It's all color coded and matches up perfectly with the JVC harness. I ran the bluetooth mic under the drivers dash and up the driver side A Pillar so the mic is popping out the top of the trim piece. The sound is like night and day from the stock stereo, even with the stock speakers! I plan to get some components, but will make due for now. FM signal is weak like most people say, but I despise the radio. Ipod control is great. Works with Nano. Works well with USB thumb drive too. I drilled a hole in the side of the upper glove box and fed the rear USB cable into there like other people. BT seems to work well. And matched the color of my OEM lighting. Great stereo. Highly recommend if you don't want all the touch screen and dvd features. It's really easy to use.

All around great product
Bought mainly for the double din adjustable screen color, bluetooth connectivity, and ipod connection through usb. Everything is very easy to set up and the color of the screen can be adjusted to match any interior gauges aftermarket or not. Bluetooth syncs with my phone for calls, media playback, and navigation voice. All the audio is very clear, though people seem to have a hard time hearing me, which could be partially due to my mic placement and exhaust volume. The ipod interface through usb is great, you can choose to either control through the head unit or ipod. It also charges the ipod while connected. I have not even touched the remote so I cannot comment on that but otherwise I have been completely satisfied with the product.

Great factory looking deck
I've only had it for two weeks, but the sound quality radio and cd is excellent. Very easy to use, and the color change is amazing. Bluetooth was easy to install to two phones and sound quality on my side is very good. Very user friendly head unit. So far, so good.

So Many bells and whistles!!
I had this installed in my 05 Vibe (standard tunes). Seems like a gazzillion different color settings for any dash light compatibility. Mine is red so I adjusted accordingly, but the red is hard to see in the daytime and fuzzy (to me) at night in the display area. You can adjust display, button , or all for colors. Settled on a light blue for the display.
As another poster mentioned, the glossy finish is a bit detracting as well as the big chrome knob, I may dip it in some black plasti-dip to give it a rubbery feel and no glare, plays my thumb drives, plays my 8 gb sansa Fuse in the aux input, any mp3 I can throw at it.
Radio reception is a bit weak at times. Just installing some Polk db 651's front and rear.

Does it all...simple to operate.
I replaced the stereo in my 2003 Ford Super Duty pickup with this unit because I wanted something that would interface to my ipod and cell phone. This unit came with everything needed to do both. It took minimal modification to the dash to install the unit. It looks good in the dash, you can match the illumination color to the vehicle's OEM illumination and it has tons of EQ control. Could not ask for more. I'm totally satisfied and would advise others to purchase.

Amazing
This JVC headunit is the real deal, it didnt cost too much either. The features built into this unit are awesome, this is a must buy!

PERFECT!!!
I love this radio. It does everything I wanted it to do with ONE exception. I do not like the fact that the clock is so small and you cannot make it bigger. If I could make the clock bigger it would absolutely be the best radio I have ever had.

Bluetooth
I just finished the installation yesterday. So far, I would recommend the radio, but NOT the mounting kit or the built-in Bluetooth. I wouldn’t recommend this radio if you want built in Bluetooth.

love it
I installed this in my girlfriends 08 civic, it looks beautiful and i love how you can change the color of the screen and buttons separately.. it sounds great too, ipod works pretty good, lags sometimes though.. i have an older JVC Arsenal head unit in my del sol, they make great radios.. HIGHLY recommended

Very Nice!
This is the 3rd head unit I've owned, and the nicest by far. First off, the ProEQ adjustments are very detailed and the adjustable HPF/LPF crossover settings are great. The screen looks awesome and all functions are easy to use. The bluetooth not only stores contacts, and can read texts, but can also receive streaming BT audio from your phone. I know you lose quality but it comes out really clear. The mic for the BT is good unless your on the freeway and then people say they can hear themselves talking. 3 amp outputs are convenient for system expansion and the CD player plays the CD instantly when you put it in. USB is fast and aux input is high quality. If you want a Double Din without a screen, get this one. I did my research before hand it am very satisfied!!!!!

Great headunit!
This is a really amazing headunit. Tunable in many parameters, including color/lighting options and an EQ that allows frequency selection and Q widths. I've not seen either of these functions on a reasonably priced headunit before. The sound is very good after simple tuning. The Bluetooth works great, found my phone (Droid X) quickly, and the call clarity is very nice. I highly recommend this item!
Sonic Electronix was great to work with as well!

Fantastic Head Unit
I had this head unit installed in a 2007 Hyundai Sonata Limited sedan. This is the model with the Infinity speakers/factory amplifier.
NOTE: YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THE FD23B/FD23 WIRING ADAPTER THAT SONIC PROVIDES FOR THE 2007 HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED MODEL!
This is not entirely the fault of Sonic Electronix. The Scosche website application guide reflects the FD23B/FD23 as being the correct wiring adapter for this vehicle, however, it is not. The wiring adapter package clearly states that the FD23B/FD23 is not intended for a factory amplified system. A quick call to Scosche (the phone number is on the wiring adapter package) and they confirmed that the correct wiring adapter for my application is the HY05B. For some reason Sonic does not carry this wiring adapter. A quick Google search and I was able to find it locally.
While at a local stereo shop to purchase the correct wiring adapter I also bought the JVC KT-HD300 HD radio tuner box. Hint….buy the JVC HD box from Sonic….much cheaper! Anyway, I ended up having everything professionally installed because it was starting to look like this may be beyond my expertise. BTW, I absolutely love the sound of the HD stations, just phenomenal.
Pros:
1. Matching my existing dash light color was simple with the myriad of color adjustments that JVC provides. This includes different colors (or the same colors if you wish) for both the display and buttons.
2. My Sony Ericsson 518a cell phone paired up just fine and contacts transferred perfectly. A quick call to a friend and he said he could hear me loud and clear.
3. My iPod Touch 4G, 64GB worked flawlessly and charged correctly with a standard iPod cable plugged into the rear USB cable. The Sonic specification tab notes only the 1G, 2G, and 3G Touch but my 4G version works fine.
4. Unbelievable sound is coming out of my speakers now. I’m hearing things I didn’t hear before. Bridge of Sighs by Robin Trower sounds fantastic! The volume from this new head unit will get very loud….be careful….lol.
5. A copied CD played correctly and sounded fine.
6. A mini-jack extension cable is included in the head unit box so you can plug in a right-angle plug that is on the Axxess ASWC steering wheel control interface which I also purchased. You don’t need to buy the adapter that Sonic mentions at the end of the description for the JVC KW-XR810.
Cons:
1. As mentioned earlier you will need to buy the correct wiring adapter if you want to install this unit in a 2007 Hyundai Sonata Limited with a factory amplified system. This may apply to other makes with a factory amplified system. I would suggest doing some homework (call Scosche) to verify the correct wiring adapter and then calling Sonic to place your order to ensure you get the correct wiring adapter for your application.
2. Bluetooth is NOT actually built-in. You need to use one of the two USB ports for the included Bluetooth dongle. I elected to use the front port for the dongle and the rear port for my iPod Touch so I could hide it in the glove box.
3. You can’t manually dim the lights on the head unit like you can with your dash lights.
4. I noticed a very small gap at the bottom of the head unit and the dash kit. That may be an install issue with my installer so may not be a con.
Overall, I absolutely love this new head unit. This is a vast improvement over my stock head unit and I thought it was great. Now I have hands-free calling, HD radio, and the ability to plug in my iPod Touch. I highly recommend it if you’re in the market for a double-din head unit and even with the very few flaws I’ve mentioned this deck is awesome!

This Deck is SICK!!
Works great in my 08 tacoma. installed it myself
So far i can't think of anything that i dont like about it. tons of features, very customizable, i made the color match the rest of my lights perfectly. you can also set it to change colors at a certain time. For example from 7am - 9pm you can make it blue or whatever (a easier color to see in the day time) then from 9pm - 7am you can make it match your interior lights. i have it green in the day and red at night. Pretty sweet if you ask me. It can play pretty much anything you throw at it. from Flash Drives, Ipod, IPhone, BT streaming music, and anything with a head phone jack.
Flash Drive- I'm using a 4 gig drive. I separated all my music into folders with the name of the artist. When i plug it in and everytime i start my truck it takes about 10 seconds to load (but it remembers where u left off) its cool because you can scroll through the Artists(folders) you can select your folder and then scroll through all the songs in that folder.
I wanted to see what this thing could do so i connected my 500 gig hard drive with my 30 gigs of music and it WORKED! took like 2 minutes to load but it worked.
blue tooth streaming- I use my Iphone and it works great. automatically connects but it takes a few seconds to connect. You control the music with your I phone or BT device. The cool thing is that is just doesn't play music but you can hear your in app sounds too. Like i have a GPS app and i can hear the turn by turn directions through my truck speakers.
When i have my I phone connected to the USB i can can select Artist, Album, genre, Songs, and all that using the stereo.
and AUX is aux, plug in you MP3 player and press play and yeah...
I haven't played CD yet but i'm sure it works great. (i mean why play cd's when you have 2 USB ports!)
I haven't really made many calls with the blue tooth but seems to work good. It synchronizes phone book, missed calls and all that Jazz.
The only thing that sucks is it take a few seconds to load my flash drive every time i get in my truck but its not a huge deal. Overall i'm very pleased with this deck.

Great product
Looks great, and has every functionality you may need. I'm very happy with it replacing my Altima stock stereo.
One issue though: Sometimes I have to restart my iPhone to get it recognized for music playback, which is annoying. I believe this problem started after updating iPhone's firmware.

Great Value
This is a great value. I love that it comes with the rear USB that you can put the BT in and have seamless interaction with an iPhone or other player. I also love that you can receive and make calls all through the head unit and have the audio through the speakers and remote microphone all wireless.
The multiple display colors spectrum feature is pretty cool and is easy to match the other displays in the car. The only negative is that the display is difficult to read and some lighting scenarios.

Great head unit
I was nervous of buying JVC car audio at first, however after purchasing another JVC unit (KD-A925BT) for a different vehicle, I purchased this one.
This is a GREAT head unit, although there are some cons to it. The biggest one for me is that in order to use the bluetooth functions you have to give up one of your USB ports for the JVC dongle, a thumb drive-like device... I don't understand why it couldn't have been an integral part of the head unit. You cannot use a USB hub to hide it either, because the head unit doesn't push out enough power into one USB port for both the dongle and an ipod. I prefer to put the dongle in the front port and use the rear to hide the ipod cable. It wouldn't be so bad either if the dongle didn't have an annoying green light on it either. The KD-A925BT also has that same design flaw, but my next reason is why I would choose the other unit over this one.
Using an iphone 4 with this head unit you have to go into the phone menu and then press voice recognition to dial out, where as on the KD-A925bt all you do is press and hold the phone button and it automatically goes to voice recognition.
Overall it is a great unit and I'm still very satisfied with it. But for $50.00 less, you can buy the KD-A925bt and get more features. But if you must have a double din unit under $300.00 or so it's a great buy.

Fully loaded with a simple interface
This headunit is simply great, IMO.
Electronic music files (mp3, wav, etc) are the newest format for listening to music, and this radio handles them expertly. It has three mechanisms for bringing electronic files into the headunit: AUX plug on the front face, two USB plugs (one front face, one via cord), and via Bluetooth. I prefer loading all my songs on a 32 GB USB thumbdrive and leaving that plugged into the headunit. The headunit remembers where it left off in the song after power is switched off and back on, and it is quick to read the files even after many songs have been added or deleted on the 32 GB drive.
The Bluetooth on this unit is excellent, the remote microphone can be placed anywhere and it does a decent job of filtering out background noise.
The headunit's 3 band parametric equalizer is more sophisticated than any I've ever seen on a headunit at any price, and it allowed me to dial in the bass on my system to my liking.
The headunit's lighting options allowed me to bring the lights to exactly match those of my 2003 Tacoma (orange-red).
The controls are simple enough for my parents to understand, and the buttons are sized to where big fingers can operate the system without bumping into other buttons.
It is an awesome headunit! I recommend it!!

WoW!!!
Varicolor is Great can adjust to match any desired look. As some people have said on a bright day the display is hard to see int the sun but with the right settings this can be avoided. I am using a "positive" green for day mode. When I turn on the lights to my truck at night it will sense it and inverts from "positive" to "negative" veiw. This looks great and is also just a option. You do not have to do it that way. The sound is great also. I'm running 2 sets of 6 1/2 inch Energy component sets and it Rocks!. I would also like to metion that the bluetooth phone works flawlessly. I downloaded the phone book out of my phone and I can scroll and dial all my contacts right from the stereo. Also you can have up to 5 bluetooth devices programed in the unit. My wife and I have 2 different phones and you can select which one to use. The menu structure is very easy. I bought this unit because I was going for a steath install with great sound quality. I wanted a factory look with big buttons for my ever ageing eyes and this unit delivers. Provides just about all options for expandability. You can match the level of all your external devices to the same level. I plan to add a amp and sub at later date but it sounds great already.
