Jensen VM9512 is awesome

I have spent lots of time researching the in dash dvd players that are out there and comparing features and cost. This unit is without question the best value when it comes to features and visual appeal.
This unit is at the price point of the cheap no name brand units that have terrible looking user interfaces and poor quality features, yet it excels in both these areas. I think the medialink module is one of the coolest things out there, i love it. It can hook up to everything and it looks great installed too.
Also, this unit comes with all cables and accessories necessary to take advantage of its features, as compared to JVC or Alpine or any other big name brand unit that is twice the cost and still charges you another $150 for the bluetooth.
The only con is that the bluetooth is sensitive to road noise to a certain extent. If the windows are down it will be tough for others to hear you clearly, they can still here you but they can tell that you are on a speaker phone or something like that. With windows down and good volume of speech, it works great.
Purchase this and you won't be sorry at all, you'll love it and look to Jensen for your future purchase.

A Great Product.

I have searched the web everywhere to find this product and when I saw www.sonicelectronix.com price for this product; I honestly thought it was a scam.

However, my unit arrived in Canada, seven days later. Wow...when I opened the box, I found the mounting and wiring units needed to connect it to my car that www.sonicelectronix.com threw in for free!!! On top of that, this unit features things like optional GPS directions and satellite radio. It has so many input and outputs it boggles my mind and it has BUILT IN Dolby 5.1(tm) digital surround. You don't have to spend another $500.00 on a box for the audio features. Plus, there's no hide-away box like many other manufactures. It even has an input for an additional touch screen and features dual mode function meaning the front can listen to one thing and the back can listen to something else.

I am truly amazed since the closest version of a competitors model that barely has the features the VM9512 does was $2,200.00. Even though my car is getting older, this unit lights up the dash like Las Vegas and when people see this unit in my car, they act like I'm driving a Porche.

Read the features for yourself and take it for a test spin and return it within www.sonicelectronix.com refund date if you don't like it (even though I know you will)

P.S.: If you search the web, you can find a cheat code to bypass the units parking brake video disabler :).

Highly suggest buying this unit.

This unit is sweet

I got the Jensen Vm 9512 last week and it is freakin sweet. The bluetooth is awesome you can play music through your phone, the media link is so nice it fit right in my old ash tray spot. There are so many features and expandability on it which made the install hard a mass clump of wires made it hard to fit in my chevy truck. Other than that the install is so easy. (do it yourself save some money) The picture is clean and the only thing that could make it better is if the Nav. wasn't so expensive but other than that this unit is awesome.

I enjoy this product very much. I have been using this product for about 6 months now and have never had second doubts about it. It is very easy to install yourself and can be done in about 30 minutes if you know what you are doing.

Great product for the price, pros: lots of options, you can do anything with this dvd player. Cons: it has a problem keeping track of the time, its a pain in the butt to play dvds, and the bluetooth doesn't auto connect or like to connect all the time. other than that music options are wonderful, easy to use on most things id strongly recommend it cause their is a lot more bang for not much of a buck

Awesome VM9512

Truly Awesome on both the product and Sonicelectronix. I did a lot of research before buying this item in this website... I was little bit shacky when I saw the website at first... Now I am trusting this website the most as it delivered on time and got the tracking # the next day I booked. Good one to purchase....
Just today I received the product and installed straight away. You know 1 thing?? I installed it by myself... It simple if you know basics of automobile... the manual had the clear instruction on how to connect the wires... I turned the car key and wow! it started playing with no issue... really a good deal.. I havent checked all the features yet as there is lot of items in this product to use... video and sound quality is awesome... Sound is better than my previous system...

Overall its rocking.... I am planning to take this product to my country and use it in the car over there... Enjoy guys!!!

Great set Features

love the product. has sweet set of features. cant beat the price. only complaint is it never closed when i owned it!

this is a great user friendly head unit! usb, sd card, a/v, etc...
the best function unit for the buck!
good sound.
the only con is that some features cant be done on the remote controller, other than that, I'm very pleased with the jensen.
don't underestimate the brand, as i used to!

Best Stereo Ever!!!!!

This is one of the best stereos i have ever owned, the video quality is good, the bluetooth works wonderfully. recommend buying the gps for it.
it also has really good sound, and the touch screen is really responsive.

Best thing

I been looking for an in dash dvd/everything I need player and this is it. I haven't even gotten through what all it can do yet and I am impressed for the price. My buddy got a different brand for his car for 2K and it does the same thing. I have a MACH speaker system without a subwoofer and it sounds great. If you are looking for something that does alot without the price, definitely get this.

Awesome!

The unit is very cool... Its the same as stated, bluetooth function is very nice and the range is good. Touchscreen very sensitive, unlimited connections, very good sound and video quality.

the only problem I have had with the unit, I burnt my first DVD today and it said "Bad disc" i dont know why. And I Have a 60GB external USB hard drive and it doesnt recognize it.. I dont know if you have to format it certain way.. But everything else with the unit is FLAWLESS!!

problem sub only plays with am/fm noyhing else

i do recommend this product but never could get subs to work with any feature but AM/FM radio need advice or tell me what i am doing wrong tried everything

Best stereo out there for the money

I used to have a Jensen VM9511. When I saw that they came out with the 9512 I jumped all over it. These are great stereos. Your options are almost unlimited (CD, DVD, Nav, Sat, Aux out 1, 2, Video out 1, 2, Sun out, Aux in, USB, Blue tooth, IPOD, Serial Input, etc....) The retractable touch screen works flawlessly. I have now owned this product for 8 months and I have noticed 0 flaws. Jensen is a name to trust when it comes to your home or car audio!

Great Product

This product is simply great. It has so many connections and inputs which give you so many choices of which device you want to play your music from. Personally i love the sd card slot the most. But i also have a ps3, 2 amps, 2 15" subs, and 2 flip down monitors all running off this unit and i have never had any problems. I would recommend to anyone who wants an in dash.

Best bang for the buck!!!

I installed this in my 97 chevy, I upgraded to the 9512. The deck has great looks, the best ipod navigation i've ever used, (way better than my buddies pioneer he paid $1000 for). The only down side is that if you make the screen stay out (thought this was a cool feature) the screen will sometimes stay black. If you make it flip out when it comes on, it's not a problem though.

Best unit ever created

This is the best unit i have ever experienced there are so many features and all of them are easy to use and access. the bluetooth is great everybody i call says that they can hear me loud and clear. I used to own a dual in-dash monitor and this put that in-dash to shame and makes my subwoofers hit twice as hard. 5 stars i would recommend this unit to everyone and anyone who is into car audio

Best price and best features

Best head unit I've ever owned! Has all the features I was looking for but from what I've read some of them have problems so I would recommend getting the Square Trade 3 year warranty just in case.

Excellent Product!

It really has everything! I have had this unit for I love the sheer amount of connections this head unit has. There are only two things that I can complain about. The hands free microphone is not very responsive while talking on the phone via bluetooth. I have to yell for the other person to hear me...and even so, it echos like crazy. It would be nice to just have a plugin so i can use my own microphone. I have absolutely no problem with the connectivity of the bluetooth, as soon as i get in my car it connects. If i recieve a call, it shuts the music off instantaneously which is awesome. The other thing I don't like is the fact that you cannot play video from an SD card or USB drive. Definitely worth the money I spent on this though! The ease of use on this thing is awesome as well as a fully functional remote! I highly recommend this product because i enjoy it every day that I drive my car! I am however considering getting the motorola T505 bluetooth speakerphone to replace the headunit's. But I'm sure that the cd deck will still cut off the music when on a call because even if you answer it without using the unit's speakerphone, it still displays "talking" as long as you have bluetooth mode on on your phone.
Anyway, get this if you are considering it... its a great deal.

Great radio

This radio is very nice, but the flip up screen is flimsy. By pushing the buttons to hard the screen loosens. But besides that the radio is great and plays movies awesomely.

Good but has flaws

So I ordered this product basically because I wanted a flip up screen.

Pretty much everything works fine. The screen is bad in the sun so its only good at night. But in the winter the screen is fine as long as it isn't too sunny.

Pros: touch screen, lots of features

Cons: iPod capability is a little lacking, loading time gets annoying, radio sometimes static

Jensen VM9512 Excellent Product

This in dash dvd unit is amazing! I installed it myself very easily and tested it out all day long. Picture quality absolutely flawless. The extra features on this unit are extremely cool. Hands Free Bluetooth is very handy while driving, the media link is very cool to have, i installed it under the passenger dash so the passenger can plug in their ipod or flashdrive easily and listen to music. You can stream music from your cell phone via bluetooth(which is very very cool) you must have a compatible phone which many new phones are i have a chocolate. The 7 band equalizer fine tunes your system very nicely and expanding to more tv screens and more amps is unlimited with all the outputs on the back of the reciever!

Its a great head unit. I have a mazda 3 and until i installed this i didn't realize how much of a difference it would make. its amazing

Great Product!....Until It Died...

I purchased this product Dec 2007, had it professionally installed, and was completely satisfied with it until about a month ago when the LCD stop working. Still flips out, but shows nothing. It decides to work intermittently, but without the LCD working, you cannot navigate through menus and adjust settings. Luckily, it is still under Jensen warranty for another few weeks (1 year parts and labor)and after contacting Jensen, they are going to repair it without cost to me. My guess is that the ribbon cable went south due to repeated opening and closing of the screen.

As others have noted, this thing does it all at a significantly lower cost. It wont play video from anything other than a disc, but on the other hand, it has played ever type of Divx video file from disc that I have thrown at it, as well as every different kind of blank disc including RW discs. Very nice if you burn you're own discs regularly.

Does a good job playing music files from USB and SD card. Ipod Touch connected through media adapter was nice too, although it reads files a tad slow. My unit was hooked to two 9 inch headrest monitors for my children in the back seat and it did that great as well.

This review is in no way ill regard towards Sonic Electronix as I am more than pleased with their service and attention to the matter. I directly contacted Sonic Electonix when the unit broke and they were very helpful and upfront about the whole situation and suggested I contact Jensen directly to save time during the return and repair process although they were willing to take care of it if necessary.

I loved the unit so much while it was working I recommended it to a family member as well as recommending Sonic Electronix.

I suggest buying the SquareTrade 3 year warranty with this product just to be sure.

VM9512

This is a great product! In the words of lil weezy I press a button and watch my car do tricks. It has bluetooth and I can play music through my phone and talk while driving. The touch screen is very responsive and it is priced here at a good price with a warranty here at sonicelectrinix. The only bad thing is that it has a lot of features so it takes some time to figure out how to work. I recommend people to buy this product you will be satisfied, unless you do not like to have an enormous amount of features.
