The ultimate in car media

I bought the Jensen VM9512HD as an upgrade from my older Jensen model. I absolutely love this. I love the touchscreen, and combined with the iPod it's amazing. The dvd player is great too. The expandability on this unit is amazing. With inputs for NAV, backup camera, more screens....

I highly, highly recommend this unit if you can sink the money into it. You will not be disappointed.

love the jensen vm9512hd

It's been 6 months since i purchased the jensen 9512hd and simply love it. From the touch screen, to the ease of use, to the way it looks in my truck , to it's value, it's all great. I highly recomend this head unit. And for Sonic, the unit was delivered on time as promised and well packaged to minimize any damage which may be caused by the uncaring delivery personnel.

A lot of great features for the price! Great Value!

I would recommend this product. It combines almost all the features into one device. The quality of the picture on the screen is very clear and the touchscreen works great! No more touching preset function keys to work your unit with this product because if it is on the screen you can press it. I'm very happy with this product.

Great Product for the money

The Jensen VM9512HD does everything really well the sound quality is good, the touch screen works very nicely, and its easy to setup. I don't think this would be good for someone who wants a high performance system but it is great for the everyday person. The only problem i had with the radio is the front screen went for a few days and it just fixed itself (not sure what happen)

Not for me

My decision to purchase this head unit was with many hours of research prior to the purchase. I am a middle aged, tech savy, man that loves rock and country. I have a keen ear for clarity and no matter what type of sound system that I am building, if doing this for myself, clarity is of the utmost importance, after all, music is the no. 1 reason for a car stereo and anything else is just extras. With that said, I decided to give Jensen a chance. I knew that back in my head pounding days (1980's) the Jensen brand was not the best brand but not the worst. However, after reading many reviews on this unit, including the Jensen website, It appeared to beranked as a high-end unit. Plus it came with many extras (HD radio tuner, built in Blue Tooth, SD Card capable, etc...). All these features plus the specs compared to the big brand audio (Kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine, etc...), this was an excellent deal. After all, $400.00-$600.00 is alot of cash for me to spend out on a head unit, plus the Jensen offered alot of extra features. I purchased the unit and spent about 3 to 4 hours installing it. My entire build consist of: door speakers with Cerwin Vega 68's (4), MTX Thunderform subwoofer enclosure w/ dual Rockford Fosgate 8" punch subwoofers, 1-P200 Punch amp for the subs, and a Jensen POWER PLUS 840 4-Channel amp for the 4 door speakers. After completing the entire installation, I turned on the head unit. These are my findings over the next 7 days: The unit had to be reset 5 times due to screen locking up, pressed a FM preset button 1 time and it erased all my presets, There is a constant humm in the subwoofers even at volume level 1, the unit rebooted itself twice, no matter how much I worked with the equalizer settings I just could not get the clarity that I was looking for, 3 times the volume froze on the unit causing me to reset the unit in order to get the volume control function back, the unit will only read at 64kbpsfrom the SD card, The unit played DVD's fine and the HD tuner was nice. One disappointing item that I found was that the unit did not have any sort of sorting functions for audio files on a USB drive or SD card. When you put 122 albums on a drive to play on the unit, it became very frustrating to try and locate a song. Also, if a song was playing from one of these drives and you wanted to locate the next song to play, the music would quit playing while you are locating the next song. However, do not base my single experience as your reason to or not to purchase the unit. I believe that my unit was simply defective and I in no way have hard feelings towards Sonic Electronix because of this. Sonic went over and above my expectations in assisting me with this unit, their customer support was A++++++! I hope that I have assisted you in your efforts to make a more informed decision. PS: The Jensen amp is excellent and I purchased the Kenwood KVT-819DVD to replace the Jensen ($280.00 more) and gave me the quality of sound that I was looking for. I will write a review on the Kenwood soon!

Problems after 2 months

I was really excited about this unit. It has many features for a good price. The unit installed easily. After some use I found the bluetooth not very useful. Folks on the other end complain of too much background noise. Most likely it's because of the lack of a remote mic. The unit would have problems with my IPOD. It would just start scrolling through songs every couple of seconds. Both of these issues were somewhat just nuisances. The big problem set in just two months after use. It will no longer play DVDs. It just reports BAD DISC. I've tried several discs and cleaning and nothing works. I'll be sending the unit back and trying to replace with something else.

Great Value

This unit was the Best Value for all the features plus the price was great and it's a Brand name. Also easy to use, great picture, sound and was easy to install. I don't have to say a word i just show all my friends, plus the screen hides away so it looks like it's only a radio. WE love it.....

Great Deal for the Price

I would recommend this Jensen VM9512HD to everyone, I have friends who have an older model but they all like the one i have also. It is great, sounds great, base is great and yes it can play videos while driving if have it installed by a professional and request it. Picture is great quality. I have no regrets or complaints. I searched on line for this model at several places, Sonic had the best price and I had no problems having it delivered. Thanks Sonic it is a pleasure ordering from your company.

Jenson VM9512HD

This product has lots of features and the sound just from the internal amp is great, lacking in the bass though even with the EQ but add an amp and it made all the difference. Has problems with home made DVD's not playing them but this is mentioned in the owners manual. Has lots of options for Videos Ipod and one I don't see much of and use the most of the SD card easy to use and it will take any size card at least I am up to 4GB. Front and Rear control's. I recommend this unit highly for the price and sound quality.

Jensen VM9512HD

So.. couple tips after using this. The SD card maxes at 2gb. The USB-still climbing (using a 4gb). The NAV I updated following the process (terrible, but doable). It still lacks lots of local info for being updated but is also pretty accurate. Sometimes the screen won't display unless I close and open it. The sound clarity is good from the head unit. I'm running an alpine amp and boston speakers and it's crystal. No buzz, no noise, and natural, obnoxiously biased from the head unit. No problems with the cd/dvd, haven't used the bluetooth. Overall it's a little quirky at times but you can't beat it for the money and features, and with an SD card, USB drive, DVD full of tunes, and iPod, you can carry boatloads of tunes.

Pretty good product

My husband bought this for his Honda del sol and is overall happy with it. The buttons on the screen are sometimes a pain to use and it is sometimes a bit laggy when you are trying to perform certain functions. The speaker bluetooth is decent too. Overall not a bad product for the price paid if you're looking for a basic cd/DVD player for your car.

Dont waste your money!

I received this unit as a gift a while ago and was told to return it even before installation by the store in which it was purchased. Unfortunately, I didn't listen and had it installed anyway. The cd function doesn't work half the time and theres no way to permanently preset the FM stations. They can be erased accidentally to easily. The nav has to be the worst part. You pay around $200 extra for it and it doesn't work. I've only used it around town because its extremely unreliable. You input an address and start to follow the directions, then shortly thereafter the system freezes. This happens about every thirty seconds or so making it impossible to follow the course. You end up driving by the street you were supposed to turn at. To make it worse, you have to pay for the update which is $90 more than you've already spent. Trust me, theres much better out there for far less hassle!

Great deal withlots of compliments

This is an awesome multimedia player that you should really consider before you spend twice on other units that cost more and dont have half what this one is equiped with. I have had many in dash players and this is by far the best I have ever owned. I was a die hard pioneer premier fan but this unit made me see it different. I give it an A+++

Jensen Radio

I have had this radio for several months, installation was easy, and overall radio performance was good at first. For the past week and a half. The front display will not open completely and the radio cuts out. It does not happen when playing a CD or something else only radio. And blue tooth is very noisy for the person you are talking to, picks up a lot of radio noise from fan or if display is open.

Love it

I returned some off brand thing from this site that was a great value but not worth the trouble and bought this and I love it.
Phone Bluetooth- Works Great. 4of5 starts
Sound Quality- 5of5 huge EQ and sub adjustments make this very adjustable and add to the sound quality.
I-POD-4of5 great on screen control but does not allow video or picture to be used through the device. charges while playing and cable works great.
Screen-5of5 great picture
Back Up Cam- 5of5 turns on auto when in reverse if you ever figure out how to wire it up.
USB-4of5 works great with my jump drive
dvd- 5of5
HD Radio- 4of5sounds great and the extra stations are cool. I hope they don't try what they did with DTV with Radio however. If you don't have a strong signal it will switch to analog automatically.

Excellent Value

I'm still getting to know/use this deck (owned about 1 month), but it has met my expectations. You can't beat the features for the price. The HD radio sounds great, I've used the USB with a thumb drive with no problems. It does have a lot of wires in the back, but it wasn't a problem (I installed in an '02 Corvette). I bought a rear camera on eBay and it works fine with the system. This is the first flip out screen I've owned so I don't know how other brands compare in display properties, etc. But I'm very pleased overall. A similar model was in a chain electronics store, so I did some hands on with it first - but Sonic had this model with more features for I think the same or lesser price.

You almost get what you pay for

Within a week of being installed the screen wouldn't come out or go in unless you really messed with it. The nav system often times says that the closest point of interest is in New York no matter where you are.

Jensen VM9512HD

I've had many problems with mine. The bluetooth is garbage...everyone has problems hearing me and they sound muffled. Syncing my iphone gave me many problems but i've figured it out now but mainly the bluetooth is the daily issue.
No screensaver!!! When you use your iphone the tv screen is just blank vs a screensaver or EQ.

An Incredible CD player for the price!

I'm not sure what this CD player retails for on other websites, but I can tell you that for $420, it's a steal compared to any other website out there. Quick shipping, a free dash kit and wiring harness, makes this an offer you can't resist. I went to B*** B** this month and they had the Jensen VM9312 in stock for $400 and the VM9512HD is MUCH better. Not too terribly difficult to put in as long as you have some experience putting in CD players, just take your time and do it right. This head unit has worked flawlessly in the six months I've had it and if you're looking for an in-dash DVD player with monitor and touch screen, this is definitely the way to go!

Great Value

I had a theft of my car audio so I was in the market for an upgrade. I went with the Jensen VM9512HD. I have to tell you this has it all for a small price. It does have some quirks like always going back to the main screen when you are in XM mode but otherwise I love this car deck. You can pay more and get less just to get a name but for my money I am glad I went with Jensen.

Jensen VM9512HD

awesome deck. it has so many other accesories you can add to it, though they aren't exactly necessary with this amazing deck. i would recommend it to anyone who is willing to pay the price, because it is well worth the cost.

Jensen

I recommend this product, Jensen really makes a great multimedia player. It has way more features then the more expensive players. The HD radio is great, the flash and sd card are great too. I mostly make mp3 CD's though so I fit about 170 songs on a CD. The mp3 player plays them great. DVD player is sharp and plays great DivX movies. Only downside is it has many wires in the back. I wish you could remove the ones you don't use just makes it a tight fit for some cars.

nice

Its a good entry level in-dash dvd touch screen deck. Ipod control is sluggish and makes finding songs a little difficult.

Matt from Mentone, AL

I bought this item pretty much because of it's value and all of it's accessories. The Touch screen is absolutely amazing, the screen is so easy to touch and does not confuse your finger for touching something else. The picture is as high quality as a LCD TV. I had a little trouble finding a place to put the HD radio module but I finally found a place to mount it. The sound is very crisp and clear. It louds DVD's and reg. cd's very fast. Homemade cd's it takes a little less time but it is no big deal. The ipod hookup is very essential and easy to use. Also the bluetooth is perfect. When people call you it is so easy to hear them and drive at the same time. I have owned my share of different brand radio's but I give the Jensen 5 stars great radio. I would high recommend buying this radio for anyone on a budget or just wanting a awesome radio. I have bought from Sonic Electronix before and will most definitely continue buying from them. Fast and kind service.

Jensen VM9512HD

This multimedia reciever works great! I bought the NAV 101 for it. The navigation system works very good. As I drive through the city I can see all the street names before I get to my destination. Also I bought an 8gig SD card for my music and I could listen to all my favorite songs while I'm driving. The high definition Radio works well too! You just set the channels which is simple. I can make and recieve
blu-tooth calls from my cell phone! I can watch DVD, DVDR and movies from my USB device in DVIX format. This product does so much and the price is unbeatable!
