Poor Service
I purchased the Jensen VM9725BT this model was replaced by the 9726 but both are very similar. Everything about Sonic Electronics was great. The installation went well, the unit works well except for the outdated maps in the navi unit. Some well known streets un-named, location of destination on wrong side of road, wont let me enter the address because it doesn’t recognize it as a possible address. The Jensen manual says “guaranteed latest maps” Updates are done through naviextras.com and you pay by card or with a code that is provided to you.
I contacted Audiovox/Jensen via e mail about the issue and I perceived them to be very negative about getting an update. Instead of asking how long I’ve had the unit, they told me to get the upgrade it has to be within 90 days of purchase, also that its mostly just more POI rather than updated streets and it wouldn’t help me anyway.
I mailed again showing a copy of the invoice and asking for the free update I deserve. He said Okay, you have to go to naviextras . I mailed him again about getting a code and got no answer.
I called them on the phone, after waiting 15 min on hold I explained to him I need a code to get an update the man said ”you don’t understand” and put me back on hold again. I hung up in disgust after 10 minutes.
A very frustrating day with audiovox and because of how they handled the issue I wont buy anything they make.

Good head unit, but it has some problems.
Overall, this head unit is a pretty good value. The screen is responsive, the unit is quick, the UI is pretty nice, the feature set is fairly impressive for this price range, and the navigation will get you where you are going and is pretty easy to use.
There are some things that I don't like about it, but they are more personal preferences than actual problems. The biggest issue with this head unit is the navigation volume. The owner's manual states that the navigation volume can be controlled independently of the other audio sources by turning it up or down while the navigation voice is speaking. When the navigation voice stops speaking, the volume is supposed to return to the original volume of that source. It doesn't. You have to have the audio source volume up to a normal listening volume in order to hear the navigation instructions. This can be problematic if you are driving and trying to have a conversation with someone else in the vehicle, or you just want silence and not listen to music.
I contacted the Audiovox technical support about the problem. At first, they were very responsive and told me they would have to speak with the product manager about the problem and get back to me in two or three days. That has been over two weeks ago. I have not heard back from them since. I have attempted to contact them three different times to no avail.

amazing and powerful head unit
Installed this in my 04 4runner with JBL synthesis, installation was veryam simplified since it comes with the harnesses.Easy operation. The navigation is very quick to respond and operate.Blue tooth loud and clear. Its been almost a month no issues, I love road trips especially when the nav detects heavy traffic and detours you around the congestation, very cool feature.Highly recommend to anyone considering to buy this head unit. Well priced for its features and perfomance.
