Metra 70-1771 radio wiring harness adapter

Do not attempt to install a radio without a harness adapter. With this type of adapter you can do all of your wiring on the bench (or the couch) and then just plug it into the car's original harness. Safe, easy and fast. The 70-1771 works in Ford Crown Vics that are PIs, which do not use the 24 pin harness used by standard Vics. The use of this harness will allow you to reinstall the original radio at a later date or if you need to reinstall if the new radio goes in for repairs. The plug was fairly tough to hold up to locking and unlocking it also had long enough wires so you can cut them to your needs also the wiring is real copper, not cheap bi-metal so soldering was easy

great kit

So much better than any Scosche kit. On those kits, the plastic can bend and doesnt feel very tight in the stereo opening. I had to saw the tabs off this metra kit, the plastic was so strong so make sure you have a really sharp knife!

Don't know much about it

I have a 97 Nissan Pathfinder, with single CD (not the premium audio system), and I bought the Dual XDMR7700 CD Player. Amazingly, this CD player fits in WITHOUT this mounting set!! This kit still lies silently in the box, I don't know how well it works. But from how it looks, it has a lot of parts and supports a lot of types of cars. On the other hand, plastic looks kind of fragile

this was perfect for replacing the double-DIN Bose stereo in my 99.5 pathfinder with a normal-sized stereo - easy install, correct tab placement, and i love the little storage thingy that takes advantage of the extra space.

dont buy for a nissan 1995 - 1999 Sentra

doesnt fit 1995 - 1999 Sentra. very dissatisfied... not to cheap either. cost what it would at the store.

this was the only one I could find with storage for my truck

Great harness
