Hmm head unit died

This product worked flawlessly for one year
Love having CarPlay

After that the head unit flaked out and got stuck in the load screen

This would be five stars but I kind of feel like the unit itself should last longer than a year it’s just outside the warranty period

CarPlay is great

I got this for my wife for Easter to make her life easier, and it does just that. Bluetooth is fast and no issues streaming audio or with calls. She has a 6sPlus.

The CarPlay only works when the phone is plugged in, giving easy access to maps, messages, contacts and Pandora. The radio basically turns into an iPhone in your dashboard.

My wife says you can't access most of your apps from the radio while in CarPlay, and she does not need to.

The map screen is great and zoom is easy to use.

Backup grid is fully adjustable which is a great.

Only complaints are the screen did go black a few times going from reverse to drive, music continued to play (her backup camera activated when in reverse). Problem was solved by pressing the menu button or power off, then on. Just like iPhone.

Also, if the car is put in reverse quickly after starting, the camera is activated and displayed quickly, while still in reverse after a few seconds the display will turn off then on as the radio completes its startup procedure. Startup is slow as takes a few seconds, but def not a deal breaker.

She says Pandora screen needs a thumbs up/down icon while in car play (a menu button needs to be pushed then you can choose up/down)

Wife says there is a warning icon that needs to be pressed everytime the phone is plugged in for CarPlay. There maybe a way to skip this step, anyone?

Paid 399 so the price was good and she is very happy with it so far.
