Not very satisfied
I had this unit and had several issues with the USB and power supply. My unit never worked right. I have had better luck on a brand new unit.

One of the coolest things I've ever seen
This is a very attractive and user friendly head unit. It seems to do everything well. iPod interface is very fast and the Garmin navigation is awesome. It grabs FM stations I've never heard before (picks up some Atlanta, GA stations in Birmingham, AL). Easy install without having to tap the vehicle speed sensor. This thing just flat-out rocks!

Great Deck, Amazing Price
This deck was an amazing purchase. got it for a 2006 Munstang and it looks great in the dash.
The navigation is by Garmin and is great. no problems with it at all.
Ipod hookup works great with 1st Gen iPhone, yet to try with the second Generation.
everything else works great, the touchscreen is near perfect and overall a great deck for the price.

5120 mostly there
lets start with how much i like it, I'm not sending it back. Everything basically works as advertised.
So Im now going to list what doesn't work as advertised; despite these problems its still worth the purchase. Ipod cable is cheaply made and falls out of ipod. Switching between ipod and another interface does not pause the ipod, it just keeps playing even if your not listening to it. The audio high pass and low pass are not labeled as such, so it takes a while to get used too. Only 2 preouts, had to piggy back off one of my subs. Again, despite this quibbles i still like it.

Good product
This has been a great alternative to expensive OEM units. The functionality of this unit is exceptional, and quick. The menus are very responsive, and setup is very easy.
Now onto my complaints:
- the satellite radio display leaves something to be desired. I am a fan of the pioneer unit's display, the way it shows the XM or Sirius logo on the screen. Not a big deal, but better to look at.
- Backgrounds: Unable to have a custom background with an iPod connected and a CD in the unit.
- Nav: the navigation sometimes responds slower than I'd expect. I've never owned another Nav system, so I don't have anything to compare to. Sometimes on startup it takes the Nav about 1 to 2 minutes to locate itself, and be prepared to navigate. This can be very frusterating if you're in a hurry, just sitting in your car waiting to enter directions into the system.
Overall my complaints are outweighed by the performance of this unit so far. I've owned this particular system for 6 months.

Kenwood DNX5120
The item was exactly as described and it's just very convenient once I purchased this item from Sonic Electronix. If it was not them, I'd have had to spend way much more money for the same item which I could save so much money on getting a GPS Navigation system. I give my great appreciation to their great offering, sincere communication and reliable businessmanship with them. I'm positive that all the other items that they carry must be even better choice to depend on than any other products.

Great Unit
Product is excellent XM radio works great, Bluetooth phone is awesome, Navigation is user friendly and very accurate. Only flaw that I have found is screen is very difficult to see in bright sunlight hopefully there is a screen filter available to cancel the glare.
I have noticed the glare is more evident if your vehicle has a light colored upholstery

Kenwood DNX5120
This unit is awesome. My ipod connects directly to it so theirs no static like using a ipod tuner. (You have to buy a separate cable for that $35), when i get an incoming phone call from my cell it automatically mutes the music and the phone is hands free through your car stereo,(for bluetooth enabled phones) (you also have to buy a separate cable for that $125). Plus the dvd player works great and the brand name Garmin navigation in it works the best out of all the brands like tom tom, navigon, etc... believe me i have those gps' in our work trucks and they are not nearly as good as garmin. The way this unit looks when it is in looks great too. You can change the colors of the buttons, and everything to match ANY color you want. You can finely tune the color by adding more red, yellow, etc..This is great because it makes the unit look like it belongs there and not aftermarket. You can also run sirius and xm through it. You can hook a usb cable to it. I had a professional install this unit with the kenwood bluetooth interface, a SWI-JAC, and the ipod cable for $200. The SWI-JAC is basically like a wiring harness that gets wired to your steering wheel (if you have controls on your steering wheel for volume and such) so that you can control the kenwood unit through to turn up the volume or skip tracks on your ipod. The place I went to that installed the unit for me said he did not sell the brand name Kenwood he only sells JL, Alpine, etc. He said that this Kenwood unit was the nicest one he had seen and that he wants to get them in stock for his store. So take it from me buy this! It looks a lot better in your car that one of those stupid GPS' stuck to your windshield with an enormous suction cup that makes marks all over your windshield.

good product, some defects
The main advantages of this product over competing units are (a) well-designed easy-to-use nav (Garmin, not an off-brand); (b) no dvd nav disk or hard disk reqd, data are in flash memory.
Basically this is a very good unit and works well. On sounddomain there is a lot of discussion about problems reading files from a usb key, but I had no difficulty. Don't forget to search for the latest version of firmware and update the unit.
Some complaints:
(i) Starting up from flash memory should be fast, but it is sluggish. Plus, occasionally it looks for satellites for a long time, I am not sure why sometimes and not other times. Signal reception is strong, though, not just through the windshield but in all directions.
(ii) The menus are quite nonintuitive. The front panel buttons are also strangely laid out. For example, you have to know how to turn the unit on and off...there's no red button or clearly labeled button. (There is a very tiny label beside the second button, it has to be held down for a while to switch off.)
(iii) Settings are lost when power is lost. Not a problem normally since the battery is permanently connected, but for example I had to disconnect it yesterday, and then the backup camera stopped working. I spent a lot of time checking continuity
of the wire that gets the backup signal, then finally discovered that the unit had defaulted to the setting that ignores the backup signal. If you take your car in for service, they may disconnect the battery and you'll have this problem and other problems.
You can save the settings to permanent memory and retrieve them, but really in this day and age and in a system built around flash memory, there's no reason why settings should be lost at any time.
(iii) The bluetooth device pairs to my cell phone very slowly. You can't get in the car, start up and dial. You get in the car, start up, drive a couple blocks, then dial. Plus the preprogrammed buttons are not one-touch: you have to touch one of them and then touch the call button (cell phones and wired phones don't work that way). The BT module is from Parrot, which is a well-established brand so I am surprised that the interface is so poor.
