Great HU

I did not give this a perfect rating. Value, absolutely worth it to get Garmin gps. Good luck finding a better DD hu with a better built in nav system. I thought I had it with a Clarion. I will never buy another. IMO the only two manufacturers that put serious thought into their gui, Kenwood and Pioneer. I wont buy anything else simply because they get it right.

One dislike with this system is the lack of customization on the gui icons. I wish they could be moved around. I dont use some features, it would be nice to move my common apps to the front instead of on the second page. The other is the back button is not on every page, it's a little annoying that its nearly on every option but I find myself on some pages that do not have it and use the knob to go back to my music page or the current app. My last dislike with this is mainly the functionality with a usb input. When I search for a song on my flash drive I wish if I go back to the page with all my music it didnt start at the top of the list. Now, I have to constantly scroll down the list and without the up and down arrows my last Kenwood had, it is a little annoying especially when driving. The lack of a remote does not quite bother me. It would bother me more if I had a bigger car like a Dodge Charger, I would be more inclined to use a remote however, with a Juke, its fairly comfortable to use without one. If the windows are down and the sun hits it just right, it does wash out the screen, you cannot see a thing. Maybe one of these days this will change, consider that if you drive away from the sun in a convertible most of the time, that could be a drawback.

The good things about this are obviously the fact it has Garmin built in nav and it doesnt cost 700-1000. The nav works fast, searching is great and familiar. The touch screen response is phenomenal, I would expect this from Kenwood, great job getting this right. This also seems to read quite a bit of music off usb. The first dd hu from Kenwood I owned could read a maximum of 500 folders, etc and took several minutes, 5-7 to read a 16gb flash drive. However, this was back in 2006-2007 when flash drives were still in their infancy. Today, this Kenwood reads a 32gb flash drive with roughly 16-25gb of music in about as much time as it takes to boot up. About 1-1.5 minutes. Obviously, its faster with less music to read and a more simplified music folder, mine are stored by genera-artist-music files.

The hu that this Kenwood replaced, Clarion NX404. It was a "nice try" as far as the cost of the dd hu with nav. Nav was awful, the gui was awful and touch screen response was pathetic.

I have only had this hu for a few months, thus the 4 star durability although given my last Kenwood I owned lasted me years in both hot and cold climates, I would suggest this system would be of 5 star durability, especially considering the manufacturers reputation.

Kenwood NX572BH

At this point the unit seem to have allot of features, easy install, only thing I wish it had more inputs for the Axxess interface, rather than the DataLink that is not available for the Ford Focus.
