So far so good

Installation of the radio itself was not that difficult. The Axxess/Metra connections are tricky for a first-time installer. I installed the unit in a 2003 Chevy Avalanche. The pros are: 1) the music sounds much better than the OEM with the Bose speakers. 2) Bluetooth syncs easily. 3) Handsfree calling is very good. 4) Sirius capabilities are excellent. 5) The AM/FM is OEM quality, at least in an urban area. 6) The AV input is very good. The cons are: 1) I was sold a METRA adapter that caused static. Always use separate steering wheel control adapter, not a combined unit. 2)The USB playback of music is rudimentary and slower than a Walkman. 3) The preset program on the steering wheel control does not convert. 4) The back-up camera is quick, but the video is not HD quality, but it may be my camera. Every aftermarket radio seems to have a downside and for me it is the playback of USB music, as I have a large electronic library. We have a Jeep Grand Cherokee, with an OEM radio that would have been my first choice for USB playback, but it supposedly is made by Harmon Kardon and I could not locate it anywhere. At some point Kenwood and its competitors need to step up to the plate with electronic music, as it is 2016, not 2006.
