Kenwood KAC-6404: Great Value?

I purchased this product to use in my boat to push four 4" marine speakers. I have to say that I was somewhat disappointed after hearing the difference but without a subwoofer I probably can't blame it on this amp. I selected this unit based upon it's low price, size and low current draw. If I had to do it again, I might have gone with an amp that has the capability to add a sub unit. Overall, I'm ok with this product because it does allow me to get more volume without too much distortion but I was hoping for a more noticable improvement.

Good basic upgrade

Good amp for making the sound better for people IN your car. Not incredible amounts of power but it sounds good and gets the job done for just a basic upgrade. Got one stolen and I liked it enough to replace with same.

small amp big punch

This is a small amp so use it well if your gonna use it for front and back set up get 2 ohm speakers for the back this will get you more punch or I used it for my 4 front speakers which I also used 2 ohm speakers in my doors and 3.5 inch in the dash so it realy sounds great with the 7205 Kenwood in the back with the KAC 6993 PS speakers lots of power I also have hooked up the 9105 amp for my subs with are pushing 2 Pioneer dual coils 2 ohm subs in series and its the best system I have had all for under 1000 dollars

Subpar Amplifier

This is a very reasonably priced, albeit middle-of-the-road amp. I purchased it on the advice of C*****f****, but find that it does not do the job for my Polk speakers (I listen to '60's Stax, Exile-era Stones, '70's/'80's Punk). Very little kick, & does not allow for much adjustment (tweaking) of the sound. Overall, I am disappointed by this product, and wish I had spent a few more dollars for an amp w/more umph.

Decent Amp

i have it pushing 4 hifonics 3way 6x8 speakers in the door and its also pushing 2 hifonics 6x9 in the back it plays extremely loud great sound but even better price

good amp,great price

I have this amp powering mb quart component set up . I only use 2 channels on this amp , and boy those speakers scream, this amp is a little big, but well worth it. It also has lots of features, letting you get optimal sound clarity out of everything you run off it. I would recommend this amp to anyone.

Great Amp

This amp is great, i recent pulled it out of my explorer because i sold it, and wanted to keep my sound equipment. This amp has a lot of good tuning features and is a great contributor to any sound system.

Very good features

I do agree with the fact that this amp is not to feed high capacity speakers or Subwoofers. I have two channels connected to a pair of (rear) 6-1/2 & two channels bridged onto an 8” subwoofer behind my back sit, the result good high, mid, & low sound. If you want good sound quality only for those in your car plus, good features, this is a very good product. I would call this amp perfect for a level two upgrade in terms of upgrading your factory sound (being level one just changing the head unit). Delivery, Customer service, you name it! Sonic is a company that you can really trust. I ordered several products from them and had to return some others due to ordering the wrong product and they never disappoint me. THANKS

nice amps

This amp i ordered months a go and it is good ! I recomed this amp to any one that wants to get good sound out of the 1,2,3,4 way speakers it a great buy.

Nice Clean Amp for general use

This amp is wonderful if your going to run two pairs of coaxial speakers up to 6 1/2" or one pair (bridged) 6x9's. I would not use this amp with power hungry speakers. I would also not use this amp with component speakers such as Alpine type x or most other component sets. I believe the only way this amp would run two sets of components would be if you have a fairly small car. All of the controls work well especially the crossover controls. It's a little on the large size considering the power output but for the price, your buying a solid performer with great sound.
