most durable!!

Okay boys n girls I've owned this amp little over 3 years now and I have to say after buying it critics doubted this amp, but to this day it's still proving them wrong and exceeding my every expectation. Now I've mainly ran this in my Jeeps with little or no cover just mounted on the back of my box in what I guess is a trunk ha this thing gets best around too hell rained on spilt beer mud crap getting put onto of it. And it hasn't skipped a beat. Most I ever has to do was replace the cooking fans which was like 6$ at radio smack. Above all expected this thing to be dead and ever time it gets wet from rain or river water it just turns off till it's all dry again then right back to thumping . We'll built piece of handy work.

This is one of the best amps I have ever owned; the power output is great and it has enough power to power up my two 10 inch bazooka tubes.

Great Amp

I have this amp pushing two MTX Thunder 5500 10" subs and its sounds great. the amp delivers clean power and pushes my subs a million times better than my old amp. Is defiantly worth the money

Kenwood amps are bulletproof

After 4 years of hard use (pushing 2 10" infinity perfect VQ's) in a moist trunk my last kenwood kicked the bucket. I liked that amp so much I was going to buy the same model, only to find out it had been discontinued and replaced by this model. After six months I have had no problems whatsoever. Most likely the best power you will get on a budget.

Very Impressive Amp for the Money

The following review is for a previous version (KAC-7203).

I have this amp hooked up to 1 JL audio 12w3v3 in a custom tuned box and this amp is doing exactly as i expected it to do. It makes my JL hit extremely hard and I am not using half of this amps potential. I would recommend this amp to anyone. Great amp for a great price.

Nice amp

I have this amp hooked up to two Kenwood twelve inch sub woofers and I'm going to get another car amp to power my new subs (because selling the Kenwoods). This is such good price and this is reliable I can't wait to see how it will handle my Kicker CVR's or Alpine Type R's.......haven't decided yet.....

SWEET

I bought this amp accidentally. I meant to get the older version but found out this one was newer and had same specs. I got it professionally hooked up and this amp rocks! For having 170W RMS per channel that is plenty of power. I want more though!!! Awesome buy!! I recommend.

I have this amp in my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee.Amp kicks real good but cuts on & off when it gets hot. Only lasts about a half an hour & its not even turned up loud. It is mounted where the factory amp was. I was told by some dealers this is what happens to Kenwood amps.

Amazazing!!

The following review is for a previous version (KAC-7203).

I have this amp running 500rms bridged mono to two 12" insignia fubars in a bandpass box and a Rockford Fosgate 1 farade cap. i hit 138.2 db on a bad battery and the cap wasn't charged all the way. i could of got well into the 140's if i would of been able to tune the amp better but i didn't have enough time, if u run it bridged, besure to have atleast 4 ga wire. great amp to have

Great amp!

The following review is for a previous version (KAC-7203).

I got this amp for a friend, and we hooked it up to two MTX Roadthunders bridged @ 4 ohms. Sounds GREAT! The amp keeps putting out power untill the subs cant take it anymore, and still puts out a little more.

Pros:
Easy to install
Great look (day & night)
Good amount of features.

Cons:
No bass controller to mount up front
You have to take off the panel to get to the controls. No big deal, but sometimes annoying when you want to do some quick tuning.

Overall, a great product and SonicElectronix had the best price, and quick shipping to back it up!

Thanks

Thumps my trunk

The following review is for a previous version (KAC-7203).

Man I recommend this amp to anybody that wants high power for low price. This amp bumps my 2 12" MTX's in my '00 JGC, its ridiculous....I've got a thicker hot wire and ground wire for it because the one I got is a little bit too skinny and makes my lights flicker when I'm blasting it, and I have to turn it up louder than what I like for this to happen. Now think about how much harder and easier on my battery its gonna hit after I install those thicker wires......ITS GONNA BUMP! Definitely buy it, PLUS its got a cooling fan

Good amp, great price

I have this amp powering 2 10" Rockford P3's, and it pushes them very nicely. It's bridged a 4 ohms, running 500 RMS. The amp shuts down, but that's only because I don't have a capacitor, my fault, not it's. Great amp though. I cannot really rate durability, only because i've only had it for 2 weeks.

I actually have two of this amps at the moment. I have 1 running 2 12's p1's and the other running 2 10's Polk audio's. I have them bridged and they pound hard. The only problem I have is that once in a while my fuses blow, but the amps stays nice & cool and put out clean sound.

Kenwood makes a decent amp

The following review is for a previous version (KAC-7202).

had this model on 2 15" Kicker comps something like 4-500 watts rms overheated it a few times due to wiring them at 2 ohms and finally fried it out one day- my fault, but other than that it was awesome- got a LITTLE warm on real hot days pounding but it would usually shut itself down after it cooled for bout 45 sec. I replaced it with a Kenwood KAC-9152 1800 watt amp which I used till I blew the kickers- got 2 power acoustik 15" fubars wired at 1 ohm- they bumped HARD... but they clipped due to the load of a 2000 watt rms demand- I did not like the one-sided wiring configuration they say it's for convenience but it was more of a pain in my opinion, sorta limits wiring options in tight spots... All in all they are great amps in my opinion- they put out what they SAY they put out they don't B/S you like some cheaper amp brands

Very nice amp!

The following review is for a previous version (KAC-7202).

I bought this amp from a local shop when it first came out. The store owner assured me that it was strong enough to push a JL 10W7 with no problems. I was skeptical, but nonetheless...I got it. I then purchase a Phoenix Gold Xenon X10D2 10" sub (dual 2 ohm voice coils) rated at 450 watts. The sub is in a sealed box and I've had it going now for almost 7 months with only some minor problems in the beginning.

The problem I had was the in-line fuse I installed at the battery kept getting so hot, that the fuse housing would melt. After going through 3 fuse housings, I finally just took it out completely and spliced the wires back together with no in-line fuse. Since then...I've had NO problems with the amp at all. Only concern I have is that it does run a bit hot, but it doesn't seem to mind the heat at all.

This amp is definitely a solid performer when hooked up correctly and all the settings are correct on it. One reason folks might be dealing with burn out is they'll set the input sensitivity too high which makes the amp work harder. Set the input sensitivity to match the input, then work with the bass boost and LPF settings on the amp. After that, use your head unit to tweak your sound.

Kenwood KAC-7202

The following review is for a previous version (KAC-7202).

I bought this sub because my old 500w sub blew. I didn't know too much about amplifiers, but I think I made a good choice. This amp really brought my subs to life. Even at 150w rms to each sub, they still sounded great. The amp stays cool all day, never had a single problem with it, and it's pretty user friendly. Great quality from Kenwood.

Reliable amplifier.

The following review is for a previous version (KAC-7202).

A Friend of mine owns this amp, Powering Two, KFC-W3009's (Kenwood 10's), In his Suburban, in a sealed enclosure. He purchased them as a matched set, one of these whole packedged deals from B*** B**, Besides overpaying them, In my opinion I don't think it's powerful enough for such a big truck, I would say that this amp would be great for someone looking for a little kick, in a sport compact. What I can say is that this amp is extremely reliable it has never overheated on him. Someone mentioned having problems with blowing fuses, I would not recommend cutting out the fuse as this person did. Try a fuse with a higher rating, and see if it still happens.

Old school cheater amp

The following review is for a previous version (KAC-7201).

Writing this in 2020. I've had this amp in every vehicle I've owned and one of my ex's cars. I pulled it out of a car in our salvage yard with a pair of 12" Kicker CVR's in around '08. It took my abuse as a young teenager who didn't know what I was doing. Then when I got in high school and tired of the kickers I switched to sundown. This amp pushed that sa-10 at 1 ohm bridged all day every day through 110* summers and all. Then I upgraded to my sa-12 rev 3 about 2 years ago now still haven't gotten another amp. This amp is a little beast. No doubt. I'm still bridged at 1 ohm and it's never shut off on me. It gets hot at times but still keeps going. I'm hoping to find someone who would be able to dyno it for me when I get my new setup this year. I want to know the true numbers this does.

Wonderful so far...

I would recommend this product to anyone interested. I live in Idaho and do not have a garage. This amplifier has seen temperature variations from -20 (of course I do not operate amplifier until ambient temperature is obtained) to 90+ degrees and continues to work flawlessly. I am very satisfied with my purchase and would and have recommended this product and Sonic Electronix to anyone. Worth the money and a great buy to boot.
