This amp is a BEAST

This amp is excellent. I upgraded "the big three" and installed a yellow top optima battery before I installed this amp because even though it is class D, it takes some juice. This amp will pound a crack in the pavement when combined with the right power supply and subs.I have put the pain on this amp and it only gets warm. This amp has NEVER overheated or clipped out. It is my opinion that if one knows what there doing, this is a cool running dependable amp that is a real bargain for roughly $200.00

Great Amp

This amp is awesome. For the guy who said it would go into power protect mode at 1 ohm its not that the amp can't handle it its your stock alternator not being able to keep up and your voltage is dropping to low thus sending it in to micro protect mode. Got this wired at 1 ohm to 2 Rockford Fosgate 12 inch p3's with a 220 amp alternator to keep up the power and all i can say is WOW. So in the future those of you who dont know how to hook up a system properly - DONT WRITE A REVIEW and TAKE IT TO A PROFESSIONAL TO INSTALL. Also its CEA compliant so its 1800 watts peak not 900 just cause you stand outside your car and think it doesnt sound like 1800 doesn't mean its not just means you need to learn how to hook up your stuff.

Don't shop anyplace else!

Sales, parts, and shipping were all first rate. The products I bought from Sonic Electronix (KAC-9104D: Infinity 475a: Rockford Fosgate RFK4D: Rockford Fosgate RFI-20) all arrived very quickly and have been rattling the glass in my 05 Siera and bringing smiles to peoples faces, especially the women when they sit in the back seat where the subs are mounted underneath!!!!!

awesome amp, you guys dont know anything about car audio

this amp is absolutely awesome for the money. it will run all day and puts out great power. those of you who say it cuts out at high volume should check your electrical system. this amp has a built in dc current shut off. its shutting off because your electrical system alternator can't give it enough power. this amp is just saving your subs from blowing. get a high output alternator to fix it.

Very Good Product.

Only had this amp for about a week now but I love it. Im pushing a 12" JBL P1224 with it and it does the job right. Hasnt overheated at all, has the fan so i dont think that should be a problem. The look of it is very clean and slim. I would def recommend this to anyone.

good amp!!!

I just bought one of these amps a couple of days ago and i have to say out of all of the car audio I've owned this amp seals the deal. I am pushing 2 12" Pioneer champion series subs and it is amazing. I recommend this amp to any one who is looking for a big time bass.

Excellent amp! Just watch out this is now 1800w!!!

This amp is everything you could ask for. It's clean, very nice looking and delivers POWER. However! PLEASE be aware that this is NOT an 1800w amp. This is a 900w amp that can be daisychained to another 9104 or 9105 to deliver 1800 watts of power.

I made this mistake of purchasing one thinking it delivered 1800w and my two Pioneers would cut out due to the amp being too small for them. HOWEVER, if you're only looking for something in the 900w range then this is the best BANG for your BUCK to BOOM.

Great Amp, Best Bang for the Buck

hands down a good amp.

I don't know if cause the amp has never overheated since I installed it , i paid dirt cheap for gold, or cause new my 2 12' JL w3v3 are not shutting this amp down at full volume. But i love this amp.... not everyone gets lucky with this amp cause its a gambling amp. My cousin gets the exact same amp and his stop working after two hours. So just have to be careful......... of course i feel like it may no be the full 1800 watts but you get what you paid for. but when i had my 2 12' JL w1v2 this amp was perfect for such subs.... I recommend this amp if you got under 700 Rms to push

Awesome Amp

I purchased this amplifier because after purchasing higher end subs and head unit, etc. I did not have enough money to purchase a expensive amp. This amp pushes my two jl, 10w3v3's beautifully. I was going to buy this amp, use it until I had enough money to purchase a jl amp, which is very expensive. I have decided after using this amp to keep it.

Pros:
Looks awesome, lights up blue
awesome power
doesn't suck all of the power from my alternator
runs at a cool temperature

cons:
NONE!!!

Awesome Power Amp for the Price

i recommend this amp with a capacitor. it draws too much power causing lights to dim and such. but in overall performance i have won 3 competitions with it. very nice on pure power and very low % distortion of bass is the freq is set right.

i have:
Equalizer - Kenwood KGC-9044
Head Unit - Kenwood KDC-X791
2 Bass Amp - Kenwood KAC-9104D
4 12" Kenwood KFC-XW12R @ 1.33 Ohms
Inner Voice Amp - Kenwood KAC-X40 - 100 watts RMS x 4 @ 2 ohms

i have to say Kenwood does match their frequency good. as to loudness is not all that makes a Car Audio System good but frequency is my priority.
Tip - if you match frequency it will always beat loudness. ask yourself this... why sound loud but sound like crap then quality sound and in frequency response. Thats what makes people say Damn you sound awesome then just to be the loudest guy on the block. i won my competitions based on fidelity, clarity and bass DB's

If you are interested in this amp please read!

I recently bought a dual 4 ohm kicker l7 15" sub and was in the market to buy an amp to run this beast of a sub. I was looking for cheap as well as functional, and I picked up this amp off sonic in the open box section and payed $150 and let me tell you this thing has some good clean power an it never even gets warm. There's a lot of negative reviews on this amp about running it 1 ohm. Personally I have it at 2 ohms and haven't had a single problem. I honestly don't think this amp is made to do 1 ohm but I've never actually tried it. It could be as simple as the people don't have a good enough charging system(capacitor, battery, alternator) I think this amp is a great buy and sounds louder and better than my brothers 15 l7 on a kicker 750.1 and it's half the price.... GOOD BUY!!!

What more could you ask for?

This amp has kept my system thumpin' for 6 months now, never had to replace any fuses and it never overheated. It has plenty of power to supply basically any system. If you're looking for something with a decent RMS i'd definitely recommend this. This is my 3rd amp and I've never had a problem with it. The only bad part is taking the plate off every time you want to undo the wires, and no bass control knob for the interior of the car.

Not too bad

I have had it hooked up for about 3 weeks now. First I had it pushing 2 crossfire 12" subs and it was way to much for them. Now I found a good price on some MTX thunder 8000s which are 500 RMS per sub and this amp pushes them all most to their limits wired at 2 ohm load. That's with no cap and a stock 60amp alternator. That's pretty good I think. for the price I wont complain. I'm also planing on buying a 2nd one and running 1 amp per sub when I get my new subs.

This is the best amp I have found for this price

Wow!

I'm very very impressed with this amplifier, it's really spiced up my system. I originally had 2 Pioneer single 4ohm voice coil sub woofers with a Pioneer 350 watt 2 channel amp power them. Since I purchased this amplifier I'm only running one of the Pioneer subs I had, it's drawing 500 watts at 4 ohm and you can hear the system from blocks away and it's a lot better sound on the inside of the vehicle compared to the Pioneer 2 channel I had been using. Kenwood made a fine product!! I can't wait to hook it up to the Polk SR sub I just ordered :)

Great amp. for the price.

I HAD THIS AMP PUSHING MY 2 12 SONY XPLODS(BLACK).I WOULD RECOMMEND AT LEAST A 1 FARAD CAP THOUGH.I RECENTLY SWITCHED IT OUT FOR A ROCKFORD 600.1BD AMP AND THE POWER FEELS THE SAME BUT YOU CAN REALLY HEAR THE DIFFERENCE WHEN IT COMES TO FREQUENCY RESPONSE.

Kenwood 9104d

I didn't get the amp from here, I bought it off a guy that powered two cvr's with it. I powered two kenwood kfc-3012's and these things bumped hard. Although after a while the Kenwoods proved to be not enough for me so I went and bought an Addictive Audio 15 version 3 1000 watt rms 2100 peak. I still have this amp and let me say I am surprised the excursion this amp produces. It hits easily hits 20% harder than the two 12's. But like everyone said it is power hungry, either upgrade your alternator, get a second battery, and possibly do a big 3 and you will never have a problem with this amp running at 1 ohm. I have to push this thing over 3/4 gain and input sensitivity for it to shut off. But I did notice it will start to distort if you go too high so if you don't distort the amp it won't shut off.

Most Power for the Money. Period.

I have owned many amps over the years from RF, MTX, XTANT, Alphasonik, and so on. All were great amps but I will have to say I was most surprised by this Kenwood. First thoughts after first picking up the amp is no way this is a 900 watt amp because it doesn't weigh very much at all compared to other amps I have owned. The RF P3001 (300 Watt) I was replacing weighed twice as much. After installing it with 4 gauge power and ground wire with a 1 farad cap on two Kicker 12" L5's I was totally amazed! This amp puts down some power and that ain't no joke! Only down fall Is no remote bass knob but if you get it dialed in you really don't need it. You WILL NOT be disappointed in the power this Kenwood will deliver I promise!

great amp!

I only got this amp because it is CEA-complaint and it was well worth it. It was more than i wanted to pay for but I'm satisfied with the amp. Its pushing my 12" type R , but is uses a lot of power i had to go out and get a capacitor. The amp does get hot but has not cut off on me yet. I still love it and would recommend it 100%

Great output

Just got it installed today. Sounds great hooked up to a Pioneer 12" Dual 4 ohm Champion PRO Series Subwoofer running at 2 ohm for a rated 900 RMS. I also went with a 2.0 Farad Digital Power Capacitor made by Tsunami to help reduce the lights dimming. I have a stock battery and alternator on a 2009 Accord and only running 8 gauge to the amp. Despite this it sounds really good and I have 3 Gauge shipping to upgrade the wire to see if that helps with the lights slightly dimming.

The sub is in a .8 ^ft sealed box and combined with this amp it thumps. I have the signal input coming from the stock 8" sub that comes in my car. That way I can control the output of the amp and sub from my stock head unit. Definitely comes in handy to adjust bass output for different songs without affecting the 6.5's in my car.

It's great tight responsive bass in a small package taking up only about one total square foot. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting the best in affordable sound upgrades. I have yet to play it at full volume yet as I'm still breaking it in but it does sound incredible.

great value.

this amp is a great value for those looking to produce a 4 ohm load. with 500 watt RMS @ 4 ohms, you can't find a quality amplifier within $100. @ 2 ohms though, i've read in a review that it only puts out around 670 watts RMS, so if thats the case you might want to look elsewhere for 2 ohms. have only had one problem with the amp and it was a simple fix. the amp shut itself off and after looking the the troubleshooting guide and rewiring the subs it worked fine. the amp does get hot, but it has yet to shut itself off due to heat. before i had it powering a polk audio mm10 500 watts rms @ 4 ohms. my current set up with this amp is 2 10" kicker comp vr's, which can handle 400 watts RMS and i still haven't found a volume/gain level where there is any hint of distortion. if you order this amp, you don't need a line out converter. all you have to do is tap whatever speaker wires you want and connect them to the supplied wires for the speaker input. that alone takes care of buying an LOC and running an extra wire for a remote turn on.

Great if your electrical system can handle it

This amp is great for the price the only flaw i could find was that it sucked a ton and a half of power it drained my power cell in under 10 min if the car was not on. my friend has a larger alpine mpr-m1000 amp and a smaller power cell than mine and his lasts a lot longer... and we measured from a full charge on the cells

Perfection....

I Love this amp and everything about it.... well except for one thing. The way you mount the amp, the controls for bass boost, etc.. are on the same side as the cable hook ups. It's not the best spot if you need to tune it (thats if you mount it veritcally). But other than that I love this amp. It doesn't come with a bass boost knob but would be nice. I'm sure you can buy an universal one. Right now actually my radio doesn't work need to replace it but the amp's bass boost is up about half and the gain is a little lower than half way and I get great bass. I have it running to 2 12in. kenwood kfc-3011 on a 2 ohm load getting 900 W rms. Haven't had any problems with overheating or anything. If you are looking for a durable, affordable, powerful amp this is the one for you. And of course SONIC had it for the cheapest. Get all your audio stuff here they know what they are doing. Im about to order another radio from here. Oh well buy this amp you can't go wrong. Another thing::: DO NOT TIGHTEN THE ALLEN BOLTS ON THE FRONT COVER TOO TIGHT YOU WILL HAVE FUN TIME GETTING IT OFF!! (I think that is what they are called....)

Nice amp

I love this amp. I currently have it running two Kenwood KFC-W3011's In a ported box. I have it wired in 2ohms and have yet to have a problem with it.
This amp has enough power to keep most anybody happy. If I ever feel the need to upgrade my system I will just set up two type R's at 1ohm with this amp.
One good thing about this amp is the power terminals are large enough to accept even 8awg loop connectors.
This amp has a lot of bang for the buck. And durability does not seem to be a problem. A great amp for a decent sub setup.

Awesome amp

Okay... To start off this amp kills my Kicker amp that was 200 dollars more... I will now explain each star value...

Value: I paid 174.99 for this amp and it was worth EVERY PENNY... This same amp is like 299.99 at a bunch of other places... I don't know how sonic electronix does it... BUT IM SURE GLAD THEY DO!... Great value!

Design: I have to say... this is a very sexy and sleek amp... You get the nice steel looks... its slim and small... but you get a nice cool blue accent light when the amp is turned on... a great looking amp

Durability: now as of right now I have only had this thing hooked up for 3 weeks... however I've had absolutely ZERO problems... seems pretty durable and solidly built...

Features: Okay this thing has tons of feathers... to start it has intro sonic filter to help filter out unwanted noise... has tons of adjustments so you can tune it just right to your liking and it has 2 sets of speaker terminals... great for dual voice coils... which i have(2 kenwood 3514DVC) ((THEY HIT SOOO HARD!)) and then this amp has 2 cooling fans.. one in and one out... so it wont over heat... i love that feature...

Ease of use: This thing is about as simple as it gets... very easy to hook up.. comes with EVERYTHING you need.... its goof proof!

Bottom line.... I would recommend this amp to ANYBODY... audiophiles or beginners... with the 900W RMS... its a dang powerful amp to0....!! Great price as well don't pass it up!

Nice Amp

This is a great amplifier. I have it powering my dual subs (i know they are not that great) but i plan on getting one alpine type x. This amp powers my duals very nicely. Prior to this amp i had a kicker 450.2 and my kenwood outperforms it by a mile. the bass is much tighter and punchier and gets much louder. I wish this amp had a remote gain control though because those are very usefull when i want to tone down the base a little. This is a great amp for the price.

Worth the money

I would definitely recommend this product. This amp easily ties into a preexisting stereo system if you are trying to power additional subwoofers. The sensors make it so that every time you turn off or on your car the amp will also accordingly power up or off. Excellent buy, excellent sound quality.

I bought this to power 2 Kicker 07CVR122, although I haven't installed my system yet, I trust Kenwood to deliver enough power to the subs. 500rms@4ohms or 900rms@2ohms, 1800 watts peak power, cooling fan. Four speaker terminals to connect two subs if you want.

this kenwood amp is good

This amp is really great but not 1800w the fuse rating is 60A so its probly only pushing about 1000w but good amp for a small 1000w system I had it concted to 2 12" l5s and its thing wouldnt last 10 mins with the volume half way up it would turn off and overheat repeatedly.

Kicker

I got this amp for my brothers Chevy s10 and its really good amp for the money. Way better than the xplode and visonic Id say. I dont like 1 ohm loads so 900w rms is plenty for his truck. The only thing is you need to remove the silver plate to get to the terminals :(

this is a good amp!!

This amplifier does have a lot of power, i never have tried kenwood but i am impressed, this is a good amp if you like to have something decent on you car or truck. i am actually of thinking of purchasing another amp so i would have 4 12" kenwood subwoofer so it would meet the sound i would like to have on my truck.

Awesome amp!

I bought this amp to power two Kicker CompVR's and this thing makes them pound in my 1989 Dodge Dakota Reg. Cab. I don't like the cover plate because I could only mount it underneath my bench seat and I would have to remove the seat to take off the plate to just adjust the amp. So, I just leave the cover plate off since it's under my seat and no one sees it. This amp is great and will handle any 2-ohm or greater resistant configuration with ease.

Very Satisfied

This amp has been very reliable and I have no issues with it. It performs very well even when I feel the need to crank it up. I will be showing this one to my friends in case they want to do a setup in their own rides.

Very Good

this is a very good product it was powering two 12 in polk subs but i blew those. now its pushing two hifonics brutus subs and it gives them enough. it says 1800 but is really only putting 700-900 watts max. i recommend this to anybody.

disapointed

I had the older model of this amp pushing two 10ich kenwood typhoons at 2 ohms and it pounded. so when this model come out i thought i would upgrade to it and wish i didn't. yeah it pushed them to the max but it overheated way to fast. after about 10 minutes at half volume it overheated everytime.

Great amp!!!!!!!!!

i just got this amp yesterday and it is very powerful, compared to the xpold 1000 watt amp i had, those amps suck!!! But this amp is great im running it at 4 ohms to a 12'' pioneer champion series and its giving it all it can handle, the best thing about this amp is that it does not get very warm running 4 ohms. would recommend to any body looking for a amp that will run simi cool on 2 or 4 ohms.

Great value and shipping

This amp is everything I expected from Kenwood. Although their head units are nothing to brag about, the amps are top notch. Thanks Sonic for a price that won't break the bank.

Not a bad amp

It's a good amp. I've had mine for, oh, I'd say two months now, and I have to admit, I'm already looking for a new amp. It does well when powering my two Kenwood W3012DVC subs (400W RMS each). The three things I don't like about it: it gets way to hot even with it's built in fan, the bass drops on demanding songs and not due to protect either, and lastly the thing goes into protect way to often. It's annoying, but it's a damn good amp. If you don't mind it going into protect, it's a great budget/starter amp. Get two W3012DVC's or any sub around the 400W-500W RMS range, hook them up to 1-ohm, and this amp will run them nicely. Currently looking at either a Autotek SM1-1500 or a Rockford Fosgate T10001db or T1000-1bd on two Fi SSD 12's or one Fi Q 18. But like I said, it's a good amp. Get it if you want to save some cash and still be impressed.

Just What I Needed!

Good Product. This one is good for the price. One, because it has a cooling fan on it. Just remember to mount it so the fan/vent can get air. I have mine on a 12' and hits hard. I would recommend it definitely.

Best amp I've ever had.

Hi, I've been installing car audio equipment for over 20 years and let me just say that, this amp is the best amp I've had so far. As was said before, this amp is power hungry. You want to make sure you have an upgraded altinator and/or extra battery to feed it. Running at 1ohm on any 1ohm amp will draw a lot of power from your vehicle power source. I had that problem and I already had an extra battery in my truck, so all I had to do was upgrade my altinator to keep up with the power requirement from my amp. No problem since, and I would recommend this amp to anyone looking for a good investment. It's always a good idea to talk to experts about amps, subs, or whatever about what type of system you want and what's the best way to go about getting it set up and installed and what kind of power requirement you may need.

Terrible Amp!

This amp was good for a couple days, even if it did cut off every 10 mins. It made my Kenwood 12's beat pretty decently. Not incredibly hard but decently hard. Stopped working after 3 days all together. The protection light just comes on and the illuminated (blue light) doesn't come on at all. Wouldn't recommend Kenwood products to anyone. You get what you pay for.

Great Value-Great Sound

I had this amp professionally installed running (2) 12" Memphis M3's. The installer was amazed at how crisp and hard it hammered, me too. I love it! great value.

Best amp hands down

This amp powers 2 JL audio 10w3v3s and rocks the house. Runs well and does not over heat. Best amp for the money!

Decend amp

To the guy who said he's pushing a couple of L7's with this amp, in your dreams. This amp has no where near that kind of power. That being said. Its a decent amp. Don't expect it to run @1ohm, it will go into protect mode often. Solid amp if your subs are rated for around 800watts RMS, then this is a good choice.
