The speakers are a huge improvement over the factory premium speakers in my Lincoln. The bass is tighter and the highs are crisper.

POWERHOUSE SPEAKERS

These are 80W RMS speakers. They require a strong amplifier. I'm using a Polk PA660 (75W RMS x 4) and they sound fantastic. If you're only running a head unit or a small amplifier, drop down to the Kenwood 6865S or P680C.

2001 Eddie Bauer Expedition with Kenwood HU DDX491HD

First off, these need to be powered by an amp as a previous review states. Secondly these speakers actually had to be broke in and sound better after a week of play. I was disappointed at first, due to lack of amp, but when you crank the volume these sounded much better., and will really sound good once I add an amp. I bought four of these to install in my Expedition, and the install went well and these fit nicely. I also used The Metra 72-5600 speaker wire adapters, which worked fairly well after I adjusted the pins inside the adapter. I had forgotten to order the adapters with my original order so I bought them elsewhere, that was a mistake, since the speakers arrived in just 2DAYS. I waited a week for the adapters to arrive from the other retailer. The only difficult part of the install was getting the Ford door handles bolted back on. The price on these were dirt cheap. I couldn't find those any cheaper in town, or online everywhere else.

Nice Sound

Speakers have nice sound for the price & fit my 2001 f150 crew cab great: you just have to either buy a wiring adapter for the factory speaker connection, or alter it and add your own ends. If you are looking for extreme bass, I would not recommend this; however, if you want nice sound at factory volume levels, then I would make this the choice.

Excellent speakers for the money

I purchased these to replace a pair of speakers that didn't last a week. I've been driving these pretty hard for a month or so, and they sound pretty good. They are not phenomenal in any way, but are taking 100w rms and sounding pretty decent doing it. I will be using these for my rears after I'm able to purchase the component set I really want. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality speaker that wont break the bank.

Best value for the money

I had to replace my two front speakers after they blew at only 7 months old. When the old ones did work, the clarity and bass was nowhere close to being as good as these Kenwood speakers are. I also installed the Roadkill FAST rings onto these speakers, which probably explains why the sound came out so good. All in all, I’m very happy with these speakers and how they turned out. Highly recommend them!
