Loud... clear... and low low low
sealed box 1.25 cu ft... 1lb poly.... powered by jl audio 500/1....
i also have jl audio 12w3... used this to compare....
loudness are equal...
jl audio bass notes sound more pure perfect...
sound quality overall are pretty much equal...
but the kenwood sub drops down much lower than the jl audio...
overall a great buy for 65 bucks...

Great Value!!
These speakers are the best. The sound is more than what i expected. They sound better the alpines i had a few years ago. I can literally feel the bass in my chest lol. The shipping was fast and the product came new in its box. I would buy again from this site.

GOOD Value
Solid value but it seems to over heat very easily! It doesn't seem to match its so called power rating!

Very good deal
I bought this sub because I have a ported box at about the recommended specs and it pounds! Great deal for $40, although the only downside is that the cut out for it is a pain in the ass, it's not like a normal 12". I have about 400 watts rms going to it, sometimes I'm worried I push it too hard but it's been rattling everything in my car for about 3 months now and the bass is still clean. Easy to hook up to a lil4 ohm amp!

quality bang for your buck!
stuck with kenwood subs for years for many reasons.long lasting, quality sound, good prices. no point in tossing out big bucks for JLs or DC when you are not beating down the block 24/7.. with a quality amp these guys do the job just fine!

Workhorse Subwoofer
I do a ton of research on a product before I make a purchase. I read all the reviews, look at the specs, compare prices. I chose this product based on perceived value. I owned the KFC-W3012 before this. That subwoofer was fine too. In comparison, it could get slightly louder and was just as crisp in its detail. When powered by an Alpine MRP-M500 in a sealed box, sounded amazing in my Lexus. I currently have this sub in sealed box, powered by a Kenwood KAC-9106D amplifier. This subwoofer does require ample power to get it going, considering its 82db sensitivity rating. With that said, I really can't nitpick. What can I reasonably complain about with this product? It moves air. It gets loud, but not too loud. (A fact that shows in the low sensitivity rating) The sound quality is fine. I don't know how it is compared to, let's say, a JL Audio, Alpine, Pioneer, or Kicker. This Kenwood Performance Series is just flat out a workhorse subwoofer. How can you knock it? It costs $50. It's well made, and you can tell by the build quality based on looks. I would highly recommend this product if you want easy and cheap bass. I would definitely consider upgrading my subwoofer and amplifier in the future, in the pursuit of better sound quality. But for now, I'm content with what I have. Just keep in mind there are better products out there, and the competition's higher prices will reflect that.
Great value
It's kenwood the sound is clear crisp and powerful in my trunk
Great
The sub hits great for a cheapie sub.
It hits good in my extended cab truck.
Great Value and great bass!
These subs are amazing! I upgraded from the Belva brand but kept the same box my Belva subs came in. They are wonderful and great for anyone looking for a lot of bass and thump in their chest while driving. Was satisfied with my kenwood head unit so I went with these, will keep going with Kenwood from now on.
Great Quality Sub, Bang for Your Buck
Installed this in my 2007 Saturn Ion. Wired to a 500 Watt amp and bumps very hard, has a great range of sound. I still only have my volume for my sub set to about 50% to 75% and never go any louder.
The low frequency range is very impressive, I have no complaints. The side mount supports are flexible and very tough, made installation very easy when putting into a single 12" box. Would definitely recommend this especially for the price. The 2000 watt peak allows this sub to fulfill a very wide range of applications.
these are bad..
my friend bought this and let me use it.. i hooked one of these up to my dc 5k and the dude at the store told my friend it would handle the power no problem and guess what... i gotta buy my friend a new sub.... lol bad subs guess now i go back to my dc level 5

Bought 2, only used 1, works amazing!
I've been buying Kenwood products since I was 19. My first pair of Kenwood subs were the KFC-W3012 in a sealed box. Over a year I broke the spider on them, never was sure if it was manufacture defect or me being a dumb teenager and not running them correctly. After breaking the spider, bought the same model subs and still have them today and love them. Spider is still in contact, gasket was a little worn but silicone fixed that, but let me tell you they hit hard and are loud. I've had kicker comps, JL W3's and there is a big difference between all. Always went back to my Kenwood's though.
Kicker's - sounded muddy
JL's - clear, couldn't get the punch I wanted
Kenwood's - in between the 2
To get to the point with the Kenwood KFC-W3016PS subs, I must say for only using 1 it sounds pretty good so far. I'm not a big fan of ported boxes especially when it's moldy and smells like cat pee. My friend gave me one he had sitting in his barn. I wasn't ready to drop money on a nice box unless I was getting the sound I wanted. Well with this one Kenwood KFC-W3016PS in a ported box in my 1990 Accord Sedan it's pretty loud. I would have to say it's as loud as my other 2 Kenwoods when I had them in my Sedan. Although the clarity doesn't sound as good as my other 2 Kenwood's but that could be due to them being a seal box. Over all I bought 2 of these Kenwood KFC-W3016PS just in case I was looking for more punch. I ended up giving the other one to my sister for a Christmas Gift. I felt like just 1 was enough for my car. This Kenwood sub is just awesome!
Now don't go buying one of these subs based off my comment, research around, read more comments and figure out what "YOU" want. The sound all depends on your Vehicle, and hardware you are running. Like I said, my old Kenwood's sound a lot better but they are in my 1991 Accord Wagon, it's an open cab and they are in a seal box. I'm sure if I switched the new sub in my wagon the sound would be different and could be better. Put a lot of thought into what you are going to buy before you jump into buying your sub or even a setup.
