Indecisive? Buy them!

First impression, good packaging, everything from this site is. Tearing open the box full of packing peanuts reveals the gems. Standard kicker quality, everything basic included to install. If you don't have a mounting solution, you will probably need more screws than provided. (Wire connectors are included) Once installed the system is very powerful, I haven't seen any other speaker with the same power for the price. Paired up with my Kicker 6x9s, they will hurt the ears at high volume without haptic feedback, and provide enough bass to go without a subwoofer, at least for some. 10/10 would buy again, very cheap 3 year warranty is offered, BUY IT it's good if you're constantly playing at high volume. No matter the product, 3 years of hard abuse will have anything worn down. 30 days and the speakers are still running like new. Can't really think of any negatives... Buy it!

Speakers

These speakers are miles ahead of the ds series from kicker very loud and clear. Running them on an amp

meh

Loud and clear sound but when playing something with a lot of bass they pop, and distort like crazy. would recommend to get a crossover to remove base frequencies.

Kicker's name says it all

I bought these along with some 6x9 kickers for the rear. I usually just fade about 70% of the sound to the back because of the acoustics in my car. But when I messed with the eq settings, I have to say these speakers are good. You can run just these and still have that thump that kicker seems to always have. I would recommend these door speakers to anyone.

Pretty Solid Speakers

Great sound, made the mistake of turning them up too loud while i didn't have my back speakers on and blew one of them slightly. But they are great all around, solid bass, clear highs. No complaints!

Great value

These speakers sound great in my S10. I have them pushed by a 65w RMS per channel Kenwood amp. And they get loud and clear and definitely keep up with my 2 10" Memphis subs. Great Speakers!!!

TRUST ME!!

I spent 3 weeks researching 6.5" speakers for my ridgeline truck. I checked various websites and read reviews also watched several youtube videos on different products. I can say that these speakers do what they say they will do. The clarity i have with these speakers met all of my expectations. I have the components also for the front. I did buy an amp to go with this item (diamond300) i got that from my installer even though i had the kicker amp in mind. I have a pioneer nav z120 and all i have to do is turn the volume up to 20 (goes to 40) to rock out!! And just to let you know for the sub in my truck i bought an 8 inch shallow by pioneer which suits all of my bass needs. It will surprise you!!! Im satisfied!

Overall, Kickin'!

These babies doing SO much better than the stock speakers that were in my wifes Camry. But thats to be expected. They have a good thump to them, and decent sonic range and clarity. They are being run off an aftermarket Sony HU with no addl. amp, but respond nicely depending on the source (CD or USB sound best). It was a bit of a challenge fitting these to the front doors of a ' 96 Camry. A little cutting and drilling was necessary, but made it work. I'd recommend them, but not for a novice if it's not a seamless fit.

Excellent mids/highs

Sounds like i wanted. Paired with a pine deck w/o amp right now, won't need an amp if your budgetin.

Overrated

The sound quality coming from these are great. Much better than my stock speakers. however they are way overrated. I'd say these out around 30 watts.. They bottom out very quickly with bass noes which can lead to them getting blown quickly.

So if sound quality is you're thing i'd go for these. If it's loudness then go with something else.

They were okay

The speakers are good for bass, but if you turn the volume up with a song with deep bass, they will pop like crazy. But overall, they are good speakers for the money.

pretty nice

The following review is for a previous version (08KS650).

i have these in my 98 jeep grand cherokee limited and yea they are really nice they have a suprising amount of bass for bein only 6 1/2's and they have really loud highs they could almost be misktaken for a component set but yea like the other guy said distortion is a concern at high volumes but only if u have the bass up on them if ur gonna turn it up loud turn down the bass and they will get pretty dam loud so yea i highly recomend these speakers if u have subs but even if u dont have subs i still recomend these speakers jus dont use them for bass

Great Speakers!

The following review is for a previous version (08KS650).

Sonic Electronix, easy company to deal with. Item arrived fine and nicely protected.

The speakers. awesome. treble. - not so much bass, but the sub takes up for what they lack.
I would highly recommend these speakers.

(side note) small rattle from the grill that sits over the top of speakers. loc tite fixed in 2 seconds.

Great Speakers!

The following review is for a previous version (08KS650).

So i finally bit the bullet and put these speakers in my car. I had been looking at them for a while and finally went for it. They are amazing! They replaced my stock factory speakers and wow... huge difference. Seriously, i never realized just how much aftermarket speakers help until i put these in. They are loud and clear. They produce a really clean sound. Plus the installation was easy.

I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone.

Okay

The following review is for a previous version (08KS650).

Installed these a few days ago up front in a mid size sedan. Like the other guys said..capable of getting SUPER loud at low bass. But its pretty hard to get a song with a beat bumpin loud. Super easy to install though. Kicker is a good company.

Great Deal

The following review is for a previous version (08KS650).

I had factory speakers in my 2001 truck. My son has been driving lately, blew the speakers. Had the Kicker KS650 installed about four months ago. Huge difference in the sound, no distortion, I like a lot of base for Heavy metal music, sounds KICKER. I only replaced the front speakers, but probably going to replace the back speakers as well, same brand, no doubt.

pretty good, but not the best you can do (for under $100)

The following review is for a previous version (08KS650).

I was looking at 6.5" speakers for my old honda civic and trying to find a satisfactory pair for under $100. I tried out several pair in the 50-100 range, including sony, eclipse, pioneer, infinity, jensen, alpine, etc.

I stumbled upon the kicker brand by accident as they had the KS6850 in a display/demo board at one of the stores I visited. I thought they sounded great and were able to take more volume without distorting. then I realized they had an open box sale on a pair for $30 off.

once I got them home and installed them, I was pleased (for the price I paid). they do have excellent clarity and highs and the bass is substantial for a 6.5. they have a pretty wide frequency range of 43Hz to 21000 Khz. A lot of 6.5s can't go lower than about 50 Hz on the low end. my only (minor) complaint is that these are rated for 65 watts RMS, my stereo puts out 50 watts RMS, and yet I can make the speakers distort/start to flap with bass if I turn the head unit up loud enough.

oh, and the grills for the speakers are terribly ugly :)

but hey- overall, I think these are a great buy. don't think I coulda done much better for $75.

Great bang for the buck.

The following review is for a previous version (05KS65).

I made a custom speaker box with these capping a bass tube with two 6X9's in the middle with a fosgate amplifier powering the pair behind the seat of my old S-10 and I have to say they sounded amazing. Great depth for the size and the tweeters are downright unbelievable, and near indestructible, for that matter. I Would definitely suggest a pair of these for anyone.

Extraordinary!

The following review is for a previous version (08KS650).

These speakers stand by the Kicker name all the way. Excellent highs and pounding, low bass. The only downfall is that these cannot put out too much power. Just one set will shake mirrors like a low watt subwoofer, but pop when given too much headunit power. Regardless, these are the way to go for a low budget system.

good speakers if you know the diference between rms and peak

The following review is for a previous version (08KS650).

this head unit does not put out 50 watts rms, it puts out 50 watts peak. typical rms output for a deck is 18-22 watts rms, read the manual. Of course your speakers will distort at high volumes when you're not running an external amp. Good head unit, though.

awesome speakers!

The following review is for a previous version (055KS65).

Can't say enough about these speakers. They delivered exactly what you'd expect from a Kicker product and then some. The bass response from these speakers is phenomenal for a 6.5" speaker. 4 of these speakers are more than enough to hold me over tili I can afford a new sub system. I would recommend these to anyone I knew!

These speakers are great if you have no subwoofer. They give off good bass even from my factory head unit, can't wait to install my new one so it sounds even better! The sound is crisp and it I have heard no distortion at all. Powered with an amp or a head unit these will sound even more amazing. They are 65 RMS, look at that not the max.

I can't imagine how much better yet they'll sound then!
