Loudest and Toughest for the Money

So I bought this sub back in October of 2012 for my first budget sound system. It is in a slot ported r/t 300 box and powered by an infinity 1300a amp. I have to say that just one of these by it self gets really loud, especially in a smaller car ( I have a Corolla). Loud enough to rattle the car, and mirrors, and if you're sitting in the backseat, you can definitely get a massive headache, haha. With that said, they will not hit the absolute lowest notes in rap songs, nor do they produce the cleanest bass. But for the $49.99 I got it for, my Comp has been an excellent value. I will be putting alot of sound deadening in my car in the next few weeks, which should help improve the sound quality even more. Honestly, even though Kicker rates this at 150 watts rms, it can take 200 safely. Thats what I've been powering it at for the last near 6 months. From the inside of the car, this is really all the bass you need. If you're one of those people who wants to be heard down the block...well you might wanna spend some more $$$ on a Kicker CVR or an Alpine Type R. But for me for right now, this speaker dominates on the bang for buck meter (literally). And I have to admit, the design of the woofer itself looks pretty awesome compared to the generic looking subs offered by brands like Kenwood or Pioneer. When I pop the trunk, alot of people look at it and say "dang!" followed by nervous laughter. No joke. All in all, this is about the best budget woofer that you could buy and I would recommend it to anyone!

300 bangin!!!!!

I got 2 of these in a pro box with 1000 watt amp in my 300. These things beat up the block!!!!!!!!!!!!! best money i ever spent. Highly recommended. Only thing is guaranteed rattle but nothing a little dynamat cant fix.

noise makers

yo wat up ppls they call me the crazy cuz I have 8 of these subwoofers. LOL! I have had my whole neighborhood call the cops on me at nite time becuz of my subs. if anybody wants low pice subs 4 a gud amounts of noise i would strongly recommend these. if u wanna check them out come 2 springbreak nationals in Daytona Beach,FL and come support my truck. my very first system were Fusion audio audio 12's (CRAP) but i sold them and bought 2 kicker comp 12's (2010) model. and wow these things slap. i got them wired to a sony xplod 1000 watt amp. with a ported box. WOW KICKER ALL THE WAY!

I currently have 6 of these in my truck on 3000 watts rms doing 150s.. believe me its all about the box :) in 6 months I have only ripped the surrounds on 2 during a competition once... I replaced them and backed off a bit now its GREAT.. have 2 more waiting to go in.. 8 comp 12s should be fun

Decent for the price

I was actually disappointed these kickers. I have them wired into a 600w amp and it just doesn't hit hard enough. If I turn them up to high distortion comes into play. Although, I listen to deathcore and there is no real need for loud bass hits; I was still hoping for some mirror shaking. IN CONCLUSION: for the price I paid these subs do just fine for a starter set.

i have two of these and a 1500 watt boss amp and they rattle the peoples rides beside me. i would strongly recommend these subs. Only get them if you want to be heard!

I got two of these and they are loud. Only 150 rms each and on a 400.2 pioneer amp, my neighbors can hear me coming down the street. They are loud but have terrible sound quality. If your looking for sound quality i would not recommend these.

Insane quality

I have ONE of these 12 inch Kickers and it is awesome! Dont let the 150w RMS fool you. that is all you need for these speakers. I have a little MTX amp that pushes this sub at about 100w rms per channel and it hits harder than most of my buddies 1200w systems. It hits the lows amazingly. although its not that good on the highs. But these kickers are one of the best speakers to by for this price.

AMAZING Subwoofer

Best subwoofer I have ever heard! HIGHLY recommended. This subwoofer has made me a Kicker customer and fan for life. Handles bass excellently and sounds amazing. And with the great price it is unbeatable!

great entry level sub.

I bought these subs and put them in a badpass ported sub box with a fosgate amp powering them and to tell you the truth they put off a decent amount of bass for a new basshead. I would very much recomend you spend the first 2 weeks just breaking them in. you will get a much better outcome.

I would definitely recommend these subs to any first time buyers. They are the best subs in the price range without question. using the kicker zx300.1 to power them in a custom sealed box. I had neighbors a block down call me and complain of the noise inside there house!

These will slam

i have 4 of these all in sealed boxes, in a truck, hooked up to a memphis 1000 watt amp (halfway turned up) and these things slam hard. one of the best systems i've ever owned.

BEAST!!!

This thing is a machine. I just got this thing yesterday. I love it. It whomps, and i only got it on the kicker zx200 amp. Can only imagine it on a bigger amp. Highly recommend!!!

Great first subwoofers

These are my first subwoofers. I have them in a sealed box paired with a kicker zx 300.1 amp. They give great bass inside the car and enough to shake my side mirrors no problem and not that horrible sheet metal rattle you hear on some cars. I would go for the ported box package kicker has on here if you really want bass though.

i have 2 of these in a sealed box with a ken wood kac 8105d mono block amp. i have it wired at 2 ohms and its barely turned up all the way. i gotta tell yuh it slams really hard and after a hard days of work its nice to get a massage while driving home. highly recommend these

Decent Sub for a Killer Price!

I have 2 of these wired down to 2 ohms each at 225 RMS on a Kicker 450.2 amp and they do hit pretty hard for being so low in power, but both of them flex my doors, mirrors, etc!

put two in a sealed box powered by the kicker zx 300.1. I was amazed at how loud they got because they are in a soft top jeep and my friends say they can hear me driving a block down the road. they are good for anyone that wants to add some boom to their system without spending a lot of $$

Budget bass

My buddy had a pair of these in a Sebring on a zx300.1. Sounded pretty decent. Definately one of the best bang for your buck woofers. Good spl.

Awesome subs

I had two of these in a ported box with a kicker kx450.2. I have owned/intalled car audio systems for about 5 years or so and these were amazing for entry level subs. They hit close to my 15" l7 did. When hooked up right in the right size box, they are monsters. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to add a moderate amount of bass.

12" kicker comp

two of em are adequate for my full size caprice in a box's built to SQ specs. most everybody i have listen to it can't beleive it's only 300 watts... eh. the only thing i dont like is the wire terminals are spring loaded not the best design.

Hard to beat this sub for the price when you get the 2 for 1 deal. If you want good bass without breaking the bank or worrying about low gauge cables, caps, or upgrading your power system this may be a great sub for you.

Wow...

These subwoofers bump hard. I didnt think they would because of the 300w max power but they do. I have them hooked up to a 600w kenwood monoblock in my 2005 Ford Escape and they sound amazing. I would definitely recommend this for people looking for cheap subs that sound great without having too much power.

Great sub

Awesome sub especially for the price. You really cannot go wrong with this sub if you're on a budget. I have one of these in my accord coupe with a Sony amp pushing it. No complaints.

I have installed 8 of these subs in different vehicles, they slam in the right box (2cuf a piece, and with a good clean 200w rms. if ur runnnig sealed in your trunk these may not be for you but in a suz or truck in a ported box you will be happy that you bought them

Great Sub

Before I had a Boss Audio 10, now I have 2 Kicker comp 12's. They are loud as hell, they shake the walls all over the house, my mom is always making me turn them off. I bought a 1000 watt kenwood amp to go with them and its perfect. Great for the price. (i got them buy one get one free)

cant beat the 2 for 1

Good sounding subs, definitely worth how much I payed for them. I have 2 of these in a ported box and they hit nicely. The highs and mids are nice but i have heard better lows out of other 12s. If you are looking for a budget system that hits hard then go with these

i own two of these subs in a compact box that i installed in a storage well of my 95 camaro and these things kick but when i originally got them i was disappointed by their performance as from my experience you have to really work to get these subs to work right but when you do they will kick you in the..... i have mine connected to a 1000 watt sony amp 180rms each i have several other subs in this setup including jvc pioneer and mtx(not thunder or jackhammer) and these blow them away one thing about these subs is that they dont work to well with low power levels in my experience i have overpowered mine and ive been hard pressed to distort them in my opinion best subs on the market in THEIR PRICE RANGE i hope that this review helped

It's alright

I've had it for about a month and it is breaking in and sounding better and better , it replaced a lanzar that was 20 years old and that I paid $300. For back then . Even though it's not as outstanding as the lanzar , I'm getting used to it and it sounds good! Also it isn't as power hungry as the Lanzar , I have half a ADS Pq 20 bridged powering it and that's all it needs(200-400w) yes the amp is over 20 years old too , seen many rides and still bumps!!

A real kick in the butt.

Incorporated the sub woofer into my car from the trunk through the rear seat. Removed the extra padding in the center of the back seat to really feel the thump. Wife hates it, great selling point. She will not ride with me!

Beast

Hits harder in a ported box instead of the sealed. I've got sum decent excursion and they are not broken in all the way. This is kicker's entry level sub and is still a beast.

Install this on a 2010 VW Jetta n all I can say is that people turn there heads. Price is good and, any body that wants some bass this is it.

Awesome Transaction!

I received 2 of these subwoofers through a buy 1 get 1 and received them extremely promply. The value was incredible. I have wired them to 1 ohm which allows them to hit significantly hard and produce good levels of sound.

well i had these in my Jetta Wolfsburg. they were 50 bucks each so i thought it would be a good deal, but I highly regretted it. They do not bump or pound. It is a noticeable bass increase that you really cant hear from outside the car unless its quiet. They are not very loud and sure wont rattle the car fi thats what your hoping for. all in all it is good for adding clean bass to your system, but they are not hard hitting subs by any mean

Great Buy

These subs can take abuse all day! I haven't had a problem with them yet, I have 2 in a sealed box behind the back seat and people say its hard to breath at times, although for me i dont get as much low end as i want but i think its because of the limited air space.

Nice subs

These subs produce clean sweet bass. I have a Rockford Fosgate Prime 250 hooked up to two of them and it adds the perfect amount of bump in my Grand Marquis. Together the subs are 300 watts RMS and my amp puts out 272 RMS according to the birth sheet. So I'm not really pushing the subs too hard. You won't win any contests with this set up but if you want some extra bass these are a great choice. If you have the room, get this set of subs in the Kicker box! Sonic has them and I wish I went that route but that was my fault. ;-(

I got two of these wired down to 2ohms in the kicker loaded enclosure for 300$. Best money ive ever spent. For the price of these subs and a 500 watt amp, i couldnt be any happier. Literally these subs almost broke my rearview mirror.

If you want to add good sounding extra bass in your vehicle for a good price, these are the speakers to get. If you want to win competitions, get higher wattage speakers.

It's a good starter sub. My bro had 2 of them in his car with custom boxes and they hit very hard. He only had about 110 RMS going to each and they slammed good and hard. The highs and mids were excellent, but the lows weren't as good as they could have been. Maybe that was due to the sealed box they were in. But overall, they were good subs. Simplicity can be some of the best stuff. Get 2 of these and you won't be disappointed.

great deal 2 for1

i got 2 kicker comp subs and they sound great, i know people with higher wattage subs and they dont sound as good as the comp subs. they sure dont sound like entry level subs.

Best sub for the price. I'm running 160 RMS into it in a 2.25 ft^3 ported box tuned to 33 hz. It rattles my station wagon pretty good. Definitely would recommend this if its all that's in your budget. However I've had it for about 6 months and looking to upgrade. Seems like there's a tendency to always want more. I listen to a lot of bass heavy music and it just pounds... But more is always better. Cant speak for durability much but I've been pushing it a LOT and its goin strong. This is definitely excellent for the price.

amazing bass, low power

I have one of these in the trunk of my 92 accord in a ported box i made and its paired with a 150w rms kenwood amp. When i turn it up, my mirrors are just about totally useless, just a blur. People can hear me over a 1/4 mile away (me and friends have tested this). I bought a small spl meter that maxes at 125db, and well, it gets maxed when my bass hits. I would like to find something else to see exactly just how loud this is. People always guess i have at least 2 subs with some big power, but nope. Just this one kicker 12 and a small amp. If you are looking for some serious thump on a very low budget, this is for you. You wont be dissapointed.

Great Subs!!!

If you have a cheap deck, amp and wiring then these subs aren't going to sound very good as with any system. With the proper quality equipment these subs sound amazing for a low RMS unit. I have a Clarion comp deck, planet audio 1500.1 amp (at less than 1/4 power) and 8 gauge wiring kit with these subs in a sealed box and people with JL W3s and kicker L7s are asking me how i get them to hit as hard as i do. It's all about your setup. Don't put these subs on cheap crap! These are excellent subs and at a good price!

I have 4 of these hooked up in my 1995 mustang and they hit like no other!!! and the funniest part is all 4 are hooked up to a 400 watt amp and they hit just as hard as my friends 2 alpine type R's for a quarter of the price. Highly recommended!!

I have two of these wired up. To get good bass sound you have to turn amp settings down. Yes they'll slap, or pound or whatever these people are saying, but it will be distorted if they do. If your just looking to add a bass concept to a bass-less system, go ahead its worth it. If your looking to bump, go elsewhere.

Great highs

These subs are by far the best for the price but only offer a high frequency range of responce, if paired with other subs that reach lower to contrast then these are perfect.

Best Kicker Sub For Price!

This is one of the most incredible 12 inch subs out there i had two of these wired in parallel and they sounded great, you wont be let down when purchasing these!

Kicker kicken

I bought the Kicker comp to got with my 200 watt amp. I built a 1.35 cu.ft. down fire box for my Astro van.
The Kicker put out more bass then I thought it would, worth every penny.
My 200 amp blew and I replaced it with a 1k amp, Now the trick is to keep from launching it out of the box before I can upgrade it and put the Kicker in the Eclipse.

i had two of these, each one had 2.25 cubic ft box and a 20 inch long slot port, and i was running 360 RMS wired at a 2 ohm load, so each sub was getting 180 RMS. i got 134 DB on a DB meter. these subs sound better/louder in a large ported/slotted box. get a good set-up, and they will pound.

Amazing subs!

I bought two of these subs for my son and they hit hard. Way too loud for me I can hear his music 2 blocks away! Using a Kicker ZX 450.2 amp. The sound is amazing. Best bang for your buck!

I have two of these in my 08 silverado single cab. They are on a pioneer 760 peak and these things slam! I have both bridged and are in small truck boxes behind my seats they rattle everything in my truck can't even see out of any mirrors. Would highly recommend to any first time buyer

these really are the best product you can get for the value. i have two in my chevy blazer and they rock that thing HARDD! i havent had a problem yet and they still hit hard. i recommend strongly for beginners.

Big Bass for Small pockets!!!!

I have a 98 Ex Coupe. I own 2 of these in a vented box.. I have them running in parallel on an 1800 RF punch Amp. They hit hard for low RMS. I always get asked do i have 15's because of the bass. I would recommend buying these if you want good bass for a low price.

this sub is great. its power is underated tho. you could probably use an 800 watt amp for it. i own two myself and i only have a 500 watt amp. i recomend that you use a rockford fosgate amp. i have a punch 250.2 amp with a deep sealed box, and they hit hard and clean.

I have had these subs for almost a year now and they slam hard i have two of them both of them hooked up to a 1600 watt 2 channel amp i know that's a lot for these subs but all i can say is wow the sub is nice and i would recomend this sub to anyone who wants a decent system.

12" Kicker 400w

I have had this sub for 6 mounths and it has been great! It was also a good price on this web site, it got it for cheap with 3 year warrenty and so far not one problem. It sounds great and i recomend getting it.

Mad slump

I've got two of these in a 2 cu. ft sealed box behind the seat in my regular cab GMC sanoma powered by a visonik Hi-intense series amp, and I must say these things SLAMMM. Two, i've got the gain on the amp turned all the way down and the things still shake my entire truck. Great for the value paid $110 for both. after these things go gonna pick up some CVR's. Only bad thing about them is the foam surround. Very very weak and if you aren't careful you'll put a hole or two into it when installing if your using a drill and aren't careful

Good product

This is a solid entry level subwoofer. You won't win any competitions with this guy, but you'll certainly impress your passengers.

Decent thump for the money

I drive a Ford Econoline, and due to some financial issues decided to get one of these subs for a temporary setup. I have a 5000w peak amp so I have to keep it all the way down so I don't blow the sub, but it works.

As for the sub, I'm quite pleased with it, I still plan on upgrading, but for only a single 12" sub with a fairly low wattage rating the sound is fantastic, even in a large vehicle like mine.

I purchased a second one of these and gave it to a friend with a small Saturn, and with only a 200 watt amp it sounded just as good as my brother's 1000w dual 10" system.

I'd deff.recommend these to somebody that wants a decent thump in their trunk without spending 1000 bucks

The only con I can think of, is the surround is made out of a type of foam, that can be easily damaged during installation if you're not careful with the drill..

Great sub

This is a great sub. I have one of these in a vented box, getting 160 watts rms at 4ohms. Its very loud for only one 12. It hits hard and does great for low bass. My friend said he could hear it from down the road when i was testing it out. Just make sure you get a good amp to power it and i know you'll be happy with it.

I have two of these in a bandpass box powered by a 1000 watt kendwood amp, and this hits hard. I've had them in for a few days now and they're just getting better.

Great Sound with a Great Price

I managed to buy these on sale, which makes them an even better buy. I bought them to replace the 10" in this same model and it sounds fantastic. Hits hard on all frequencies. Highly recommend any Kicker subwoofer.

Solid

I have 2 off these 12's in a 1.5 cu ft box(per sub) ported. I know they say rms 150 max 300 i have owned these for almost 4 years now i got them when they where $100 a piece. I have had over 500rms to them EACH running off an Alpine MRP-M1000 they take the power very very well 4 years of service with many +4 hour road trips just pounding the s*** out of them the whole way and never seeing them get hot maybe a little warm but nothing to worry about still playing well and loud and sound as good as you could ask now $50 sub to sound not the loudest thing on the block but a great all around sub that can take a pounding if you feed it good clean power

The speakers are just amazing the quality of sound they put out. I have a true 1,000 watt amp hooked up to them and they can handle every bit of it. I really like the kicker 07c124 they are the best speaker I have had in my car.

Amazing for the money

These were my first ever subs and i bought these because my friend said they\'re a really good starter sub so i bought 2 and a kicker 200.2 at 4 ohms givings about 70 rms to each. even underpowered these things still slammed he trunk of my honda accord, I\'d recommend to anyone

Great Subs

I have 2 of these in a sealed box hooked up to a kicker amp and they don't hit real hard. I am running them about 50 watts above rms. They are nice but I wish I would of invested about 60 more dollers and gotten some dual voice coil subs.

Worth the $$

I used to have one of these in my old RX-7 I paid 75X for mine along with a 200watt Kenwood amp.. this thing was ridiculous i didnt expect so much out of one sub, you get the proper enclosure for your vehicle and this sub and you wont be disappointed

I was new in car audio when I bought two of these. I wasn't looking looking for anything great but I had heard Kicker subs before and I really liked them. I went for these subs because sonic had them as a buy one get one free deal. I have had them for about a year now powered buy a power acoustik 300 rms amp. For a $200 system it beats hard. I can't see out of my rear view mirror because of all the vibrating. This system was so great for my first set of subs, that I'm upgrading to the same system just more powerful. I'm getting 07CVR's with a 2000 poweracoustik amp.
If you want a cheap set of subs that still ht great, this is for you.

These are good subs. i recently installed these in my friends Colorado truck and they pound hard. We made a special made box for the truck, ported of coarse, and man do they pound. I do recommend that if your going to use a ported box you better stuff the box with poly fill or pillow stuffing to get better low bass. i really recommend these if your looking for big sound with low power..

I had 2 of these in a ported box and they were pretty good. Quality is so so but these are entry level subs. They sure are loud though. They get the job done for dirt cheap.

Being a college student, I dont have money flowing out of my pockets, and I caught a bogo at c*********d.com for these. This was enough to convince me to by them. I was running them slightly underpowered, bridging my 4 channel to give each of them about 90 watts. At barely 50% power they had rendered my rear view mirror useless, with deep bass and pretty good upper range. Overall, I'd say that if you can get a deal on these, they're definately worth the couple bucks.

I got 2 of these wired to 2 ohms on my Kicker ZX300.1 and they hit hard!! I put them in put them in a custom ported box I made built to 3.6 cu ft, tuned to 35hz and I think its the best for the price.

bought a pair of these comps for as cheap as $110 these hit pretty hard for 150 rms. i would recommend these to any starter or newbie to bass (always in a ported box with a 1k amp no more than 1.5k "mono amp")

Kicker 07C124

I have 2 of these hooked up to a ZX300.1 amp at 2 ohms from a factory radio. They really pound on the low notes. Overall I was impressed with what i got for the price. Buy these if you're looking for good bass at a low price.

pretty good bass

I recently decided that i needed to get some better subs. So i got 2 of these and gotta say it is definitely an improvement. I have two of these in bandbass box bought from here also, hooked up to a 2 channel 1200 watt amp with gain dropped to almost a quarter power and these things pound! Still have the need for a little more bump though so I might have to build a custom box and get 2 more! lol. But definitely worth the price.

Excellent sub, well worth the price

I purchased this sub and put it into a Q-Logic box and ran 222 watts to it from an Infinity reference amp. The sound is amazing. It hits hard and sounds solid in the vehicle and yet is quiet and won't disturb anyone outside of it. It handles the long, low notes very well and provides excellent bass to almost any genre of music. The surround is a thin polyfoam that is susceptible to uncontrolled screwdrivers, but is durable if kept safe.

This subs r a good buy I have four of them and was pushing 2000 watts to all four of them and they held up for two years for all comps that I went to u will not go wrong they can be loud in the right box

excellent choice

I have two of these subs which I got for 110 dollars. They hit hard, like any kicker sub. I have them in a sealed box and hooked up to a fairly large Rockford Fosgate amp and they can handle it very well with very little distortion. I was surprised.

I have one of these in the back of the truck hooked up to a 500 watt amp n a sealed box. It sounds ok but it does not get nearly as loud as I had hoped. It also has a hard time with the deep bass. But for the money its not that bad of a deal

first of all, the price for this sub is awesome. i looked on other sites and it was way over sonic's listed price. i hook this sub up to my friends 1000w amp and let me tell you, it pounded harder than one of his JL w2's. i just recently bought a hifonics titan 400w amp from here . i havent hooked it up yet(thanks to a dui) but when i start driven again, ull know when im commin..

Decent subs for the price..

I bought these subs because of the price and the reviews were good. I have an 800watt mono amp (turned down of course) hooked up to them and they bump very nice.

i would buy these subs again i had a pair taking 220rms ea in a med enclosure and they were loud but not as loud as the 10s(diamond audio d3) i have now they hit 135db my 10s hit 144 on my old amp and my new amp they are louder (not tested yet on new amp)

Nice Decent Subs

these subs are great considering they are only 150w RMS each. the price is a little bit high but no problem. these things are hooked to a Kicker ZX300.1 mono amp in my S10. they do pound and the bass can be heard from a block away. really recommended for upgrading your sony system at a fair price.
