Awesome Speakers!!

We all know everyone hears music different and everyone listens to different types of music. That said. With these speakers it simply does not matter!! These are the most balanced speakers for the price I've ever heard in my life! and trust me I've been listening to music since the 60's The highs,mids and lows are all great on these speakers! I have 6 of these amped at 100 watts to each channel and they hit hard! No sub necessary. Can't wait to add the CS693 6 X 9's to my system! Most imppressive is the clarity and the bass on these speakers! I've never heard 6.5's hit like these. Kicker got it right this time. If you are on the fence and don't have a thousand dollars to spend on speakers. Get these! You won't be dissapointed!

Kicker 6.5 CS Model

Aloha! After purchasing 2pairs of the CS model speakers, I was amazed by the clarity and punch these simple speakers add to my Acura TSX. Replaced the 4 door speakers without an amplifier and it still slams. Best bang for the buck. Good deal and good quality.

Kicker CS65 Speakers

I have 4 of these speakers and all i have to say is WOW! I These speakers pack a punch for there price for sure if not even better. I tested about 20 different speakers at my local Bransmart and IMO these sounded the best to me. Have them hooked up in my house with Sony-MEXN5000BT car stereo with them put in sealed enclosures and the sound of these are crisp and clean. Can get very loud also. Has a very thick deep sound when you add some slight bass in them. Highly recommend these to anybody else.

Listen all day

Smooth and well balanced have been mentioned in the other reviews and I have to agree. I can play them loud or soft and hear the details of the music and they just don't let me down. I finally finished my 2013 Optima with these in the rear doors and together with the Kickers in the dash, the front doors and now these, they create a really nice sound stage that is tough to make in a car. They don't go real low but they excel in the mid-bass range and create a nice tight thump with no sloppiness. Impressive highs too that are never harsh. Great crossover point for seamless sound. Gotta get some.

Awesome!

These were purchased as a replacement for my front door speakers in my Accord. They sound excellent! They set up a great stereo image, have great presence, are deep, crisp and can handle way more than my Kenwood head unit can deliver! This was a major upgrade! With a pair of Kicker 6x9's on the rear deck......you would swear I had a nice amp driving them! Trust me....you cannot go wrong with these solid speakers.

super upgrade!

speaakers were shipped promptly, packaged well and in excellent condition. Put them in the front doors of a 98 tahoe 2 door. I never expected them to sound so great. They can handle a lot of power and can go very loud without distortion. They even provide a nice little thump. very clean sound. I am very impressed with kicker quality and sonic electronix again. We will see how they stand up over itme.

Best Upgraded Series Yet

I own the kicker ds series, and the cs has to be the best series upgraded series I have ever owned. Excellent sound quality and upgraded power handling makes for an exceptional listening experience. Kicker DS was great but the CS can not be described in words. Great job SOnicElectronix you have another overly satisfied customer!

These speakers play clear and loud they helped achieve the balance between bass and voice in my 900watt system. Very happy and so far they been holding up just fine I have 6 of these plus a kicker 12" sub and it harmonizes perfectly.

Great Speakers and Price

Put these speakers in the uppers and lowers on my Street Glide. Plenty beefy, handles the power from the amp well. Good highs, good bass. No complaints

Let me start by saying I wasn't a kicker fan. Wasn't being the key word. I have these in the fairing of a 2013 Harley limited powered by a Kenwood 400 watt marine class d amp. With kicker cs 5.25 in the rear tour pack pods. I used sound damper in the fairing to tighten things up,and used poly fill in the rear pods.This system ROCKS!!!! It has good mid bass, the highs are great and they will not distourt until your ears can't handle it no longer. I'm versitle in my music and will say if your looking for ground pounding bass buy a sub. I am using the factory h\u and could only imagine what it would sound like with an after market h/u. You will not find a better speaker in this price range. For around $270 I have a system I can hear loud and clear at 65+ mph

Nice!!

I just replaced a set of Kenwood 80 watt 6X8 with these Kickers. The sound difference is so drastic I had to adjust the amp for these Kickers. I would recomend these if you want a more clear sounding stereo. I really like the look and feel of these Kicker speakers. Its a shame their behind a door panel. Thanks Sonic for fast shipping.

I don't think I have ever gone wrong with Kickers, or they have ever done me wrong. Great sound. Good mid bass. Have a set of 4 in a Fiesta ST and they give powerful full sound.

I am very happy with these speakers. They sound great and have a shallow mounting depth. The tweeter is recessed so it does not protrude past the woofer surround, which is great when you are placing them behind the stock grill in a car. Speakers should be heard, not seen. If you want great sound while being able to easily place the speakers in the stock location and out of sight, then these are great. I would buy them again.

very cheap speakers...maybe too cheap

I bought a pair of Kicker DS65 and installed them in my car. The installation was very simple and easy, and the speakers sound very clear at low to mid volume, but not very good at high volume. One of my speakers just quit working after just 5 months though, and I am not very happy with them at all. I replaced these cheap speakers with the more pricey KS60, and have not had any problems with them so far. In my opinion, invest a little more money and get the KS60; it's worth the extra money you pay.

For the price I couldn't be happier!

I got these for my 93 Corolla, for the back.
The sound output on them is fantastic just running off my Kenwood deck. They don't make much bass but they do make pretty decent midbass to go with the 10 in my trunk. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for cheap pretty balanced sound.

Great Speakers

They are Kickers, crisp and clean sound and handle a good amount of power.

Kicker DS65 (11DS65)

I bought these speakers for the front stage in my '96 GMC Sierra. The installation was kind of a pain, but that's because Chevy/GMC make doors a pain. The fit was perfect though. While they were in, running off the HU, they sounded great for the price, really crisp and clear, not the best bass, but the subs took care of that. I have them in my room now in a box that I made, and they are SO crisp and tight, they really brightened the sound in my room.

Nice little kickers

I would recommend these to anyone on a budget that wants clear punchy sound. They drop off big time on the low end but that's normal for a 6.5" coaxial driver. I would recommend you throw a 100hz bass blocker to prevent over-driving the woofer as its VERY easy to blow these little guys with any amount of bass. For the price and what they are I am very happy with these drivers!

I put these in my Durango that has an Infinity system. The installation was a breeze after changing the connectors. The 6.75 inch speakers fit the stock spacer rings, NO MODIFICATIONS. Everything went back together and looks just like it did. The speakers sounded a little flat at first but the more we play them, the better they sound. The bass has really gotten stronger and vibrates the doors. I recommend these so much I am going to install some in my Ram.

I have 4 of these installed in my truck and I could not be happier. They lack on bass bu they are great for mids and highs. They are built very well and extremely simple to hook up. Overall I would definitely buy these again. They are quality speakers and well priced.

Nice upgrade

I had installed 2 sets of these in my 04 Avalanche and 1 set in a co-workers 04 gmc1500 with kicker CS 4x6 in rear door and they really sound good. If your looking to upgrade the stock speakers you cant go wrong with the CS line from Kicker.

Worth The Buy

I've had these speakers for over 20 days, they are great replacements to my factory BMW speakers that were "sabotaged."

Nice sound

I am not a pro when it comes to speakers. But these are a great sounding speaker for my JK. Nice clean sound, not too difficult to install. Only downfall is having to shave off some of the edge of the bracket because it wouldn't fit evenly.

I have a 2002 BMW 325i. All the speakers (5 1/2s) were blown prior to purchase. Original equipment was "eh" on my list. I wanted less expensive but decent quality speakers with decent sound. I wanted some bass as well as sound in my vehicle period. I was told Kicker was not that great blah blah blah buy a few stereo shop guys trying to get me to buy otherwise. I chose these because I've heard kicker in other vehicles and I wanted to judge for myself.

Purchased these for a decent price and he shopping was fast and packaged well. Sonic electronic is a great company. That's my opinion.

After installation I have them a couple days of light playing to break them in and then I cranked up the bass (OEM head unit from BMW) and increased the volume. Well I was impressed. They handled bass farely well (Not a subwoofer). They did what most infinity, Bose systems would do given only having two speakers working in the rear deck of the vehicle. Of course if pushed too hard with the wrong/right type of music they will sound a little distorted. AGAIN, they are not subwoofers.

I eventually teamed these up with a set of Cadence 3 way component set for the front and the sound came more to life. All of it still running off the factory head unit and amp in the rear panel. New head unit on the way along with amps and subs install will make a great system.

I would recommend these to the novice to intermediate listeners. If you are into competition then you won't care for these anyway. For the price point, these Kickers do an excellent job

These kickers kick a$$...

I got these for my 05 Honda Element and they fit like a glove. According to Crutchfield I was supposed to have to cut on the area around the speaker insert to accommodate them, but nope. Easiest install ever. I can't say enough good things about these speakers. Nice highs, even midst and suitable bass...awesome!!

I upgraded my audio system in my truck. Bought some Kenwood speakers and wasn't to impressed with them. Bought these kickers and they rock! Should have bought them in the first place!

Poor Quality

Kicker— I have heard different stories about Kicker and have seen other stores say kicker are good. So I decided to try kicker and see what all the hype was I bought these 6-1/2 speakers. Since these speakers were 6-1/2 oversize they did not fit correctly in my doors, I knew that when I bought then so that was my fault. Then once I got them installed they sounded good but then once I started to increases the volume straight from my head unit low and behold they started to have a buzz sound in them, so I took them out and come to find out one of the speaker leads to the tweeter were lose. Right then and there proved to me the type of craftsman ship and quality that kicker has. They have one of the worst craftsmen for speakers I have ever seen. In my mind Kicker products are cheap and overpriced. I will never buy any Kicker product knowing what I know now. If you are looking at Kicker look at other high quality brands for the price, you will get a better quality product that will last a long time for your hard earned money.

WOW....VERY IMPRESSED

I bought & installed these after reviewing & listening to (what seemed like hundreds of other)speakers about (2) months ago. I have paired them with some kicker 6x9's (alpine x-a70 amp) in the rear, & some 12" subs (alpine mvr-500), in the trunk....& my God the whole thang in one word.....THUMPS! Kicker has done an AMAZING job....once again Sonic you have made this customer SATISFIED. (even had the nerve to arrive early)

Sound amazing.

These speakers sound great. They don't have a lot of bass but I don't have a lot of power going to it. So with the full 300w it would have good bass. But otherwise they sound great.

I have these in my Santa Fe hooke up to a 4ch amp getting around 200w EACH and they havent blown, distorted or clipped. Awesome speakers

I reccomend these speakers to anyone. Obviously the price is great considering how much power these can take. I am actually running these just with the power from my pioneer head unit, and they sound amazing. You really get the most out of them with an amp though. Great sound quality

My system is at it's beginning stages. These Kickers replaced my factory for speakers and are currently being powered by my Pioneer CD player. They keep up fairly well with my JL Audio 12w3v3 which is being pushed by 500 watts,but turned down at the deck. It will be much better when I get the second amp at wired in to lower them.

Replaced speakers

The speakers were replacement for 1994 set that had failed. They arrived quickly and packaging was great. The wiring was different than mine so had to fuss around whit that. I plan on ordering a second set as all in the vehicle will need to be replaced.

They are really great speakers. Easy to install, not easy to access but that is my car. Great sound at a relatively cheap price.

Great bass in a small package, but clarity could be better

These installed in a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, in the rear doors, replacing the stock speakers (not a simple install; had to drill). Immediately, of course, the sound was much better than factory. I was impressed with how much more bass these pumped out, especially for their relatively small size. The highs are definitely clearer than stock, but not quite as good as I expected. Vocals sound good, but not really any better than stock. I listen mostly to classic rock and rock, and they do a good job playing these styles of music. They seem well built and able to handle high power. Distortion levels at high volumes are notably low. Since these are rear speakers for me, they work great as "fill", adding ambience to my listening experience. I can't say how they would work as front speakers, but, my guess is they would work pretty well, provide good bass, good highs and average mids.

Great Buy!

I have these speakers hooked up in my 99 Chevy s-10 along with another set of comp speakers and let me tell you they are awesome. These paired up with my kicker comp 15” make a good system that is super clean and hit’s hard. These components put out clear crisp highs and mid’s while the sub takes care of the lows, WOULD RECCOMEND!

Kicker Ds65

Arrived very quickly, these fit into my Mitsubishi Montero Sport. I had to screw in new holes but no big deal. For the money, these are great speakers. Not as boomy as I was hoping but these are not Subwoofers. All in All I am very happy with these. Now I can crank up the tunes with no distortion or cracking, popping from my old factory speakers.

4 years

I purchased a set of these speakers back in 2018 and it took 4 whole years to blow one speaker out. Completely separated from the diaphragm.
Sound quality was pretty good for what I payed for em and durability was absolutely astonishing for what I had payed for.

Decent.

If what you are looking for great, crystal clear sound at any volume in high, med, and low end then I would strongly recommend something besides these. They sound great with the volume low or medium but any "bumping" of your stereo and you will notice the distortion rise without doubt. They struggle severely with hitting high's at all and the med's are par at best.

Overall, if you want a decent speaker, these are for you. If you are more serious in the quality of your stereo system, do yourself a favor and fork out the extra cash for a different brand such as Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer, or Rockford Fosgate.

Kick ass Speakers!!

I just got these speakers installed along with a Boss double din stero 80watts x4 and 15RMS x4 channel and let me tell you these speakers are loud!! Way better than my factory speakers. I currently only have kickers on the front doors, I will have to upgrade the rear deck in the future, once I do have them I will update also I am pretty sure I won't need a amp for these speakers because their just right!

Great speakers

I just had stock speakers in my car. I replaced them with these kicker speakers. I put them in the front and rear of my car and the difference was awesome. I would recommend to everyone. They sound great. Even my friends noticed the difference as soon as they heard them for the first time.

Great little speakers

These are loud and sound is clear with good range. Bass is always lacking on any of these size speakers,but my 6x9s in the rear handle that very well. I would recommend these to anyone and they are slim enough to fit in my chevelles kick panels.

To be honest you do not need a sub with these unless you're just like me, I like to have a little extra bass, but these hit nicely enough just amped up. Awesome Kicker speakers!

I replaced the speakers in my 04 chevy tahoe with 6X9's in the front doors and 6 1/2's in the back doors. The sounds is awesome! They really take the abuse too! I have an upgraded GPS DVD unit in the dash and it pumps out some really great power. The Kicker speakers were very reasonably priced. The name and the price is what tempted me to buy them, I would buy again if these ever fail but the speaker is so tough that I dont see them failing. Kicker makes a fantastic speaker and I couldn't be happier!

replaced my factory speakers

I bought these to replace my factory speakers in my 03 Chevy Silverado. They are much better sounding than stock. I have them hooked to a Kenwood BT848U head unit, and if you turn them up real loud they can distort, but I mean they have to be very loud to cause any problems. Overall I am very happy with them as a stock replacement.

Definitely recommend, huge difference in clarity over the oem speakers, even able to “thump” pretty good with the wimpy 2-ohm factory stereo. Next upgrade is to a new receiver unit so can make these speakers boom at their full potential ????

Kicker 6.5"

I used this speaker to replace the 6.5" subwoofer in my 1997 Lincoln Town Car and used two to replace the factory rear door speakers in my 2004 Trailblazer. It works well in the Town Car, good crisp bass, pops appropriately without a lot of static resonance wher it just "buzzes" out the tone. Not a lot of noise bleed into the trunk or outside the car.
In the Trailblazer the speakers are not amped very well and the ohms drain the system so you have to keep the volume much higher. This speaker is built as a two way but I find the mids lacking but would definitely recommend this speaker for an affordable bass/subwoofer alternative.

Best Bang for the Buck!!!!!!

I replaced the factory speakers in my 2008 Impala and what a difference. They have a great sound. They beg for MORE POWER. I purchased a Kicker 200watt 4 channel amp, and cant wait to listen to them through that bad boy.

Great sound

These sounded great, put them in my SUV (Montero Sport XLS 2000). Installation was fairly easy, had to cut the old wires and splice them with these but that was easy enough although I was sure I'd mess it up at first.

The sound: Low bass, nice highs, all around great. The bass actually hits real nice, I had an aftermarket head unit, no aftermarket amp. If you want to get the full experience I'd get an amp, at high volumes there is distortion but thats to be expected, aftermarket speakers should need a stronger amp.

I drive a 2010 Focus now, and these speakers sound better than the stock ones in it.

Negatives: If it were coupled with an adapter to connect to the old speakers terminals I would have been alot more pleased, but hey can't complain.

Dont think, just buy

From the build quality to the looks to the feel, and most importantly sound. This brand and these speakers are top notch! They have a nice heavy magnet, but are very low profile. If you replaced all 4 stock speakers to these, you don't need a sub, these provide nice accurate low end bass, just not a ton of it. I slapped these in my Honda Crv and couldn't be more pleased!

I got these expecting them to live up to the Kicker hype, or to rattle my door panels at least a little bit, but the bass wasn't a whole lot better than my stock speakers. and that's not off of a stock headunit, i have a nice Sony head that can keep up with these but no. that's my 1 complaint, these are NOT bass heavy which is what I was looking for, but they are loud as heck! you can turn these things up until your ears hurt and they stay crystal clear with the highs and mid's, but still the lows aren't overly impressing, i've seen Sonys with better bass so... It would probably help to hook these up to an amp to get all the bass out of them, otherwise they are solid speakers but for bass lovers i would look at a different pair.

They're great speakers for the money, can handle the volume.. but they dont really have any mids.. at all.. cant seem to find them whenever I change the bass and treble settings... thats the only bad I have to say about these

Failed Speakers

At first these were great. After a few months I started hearing distortion then one of them blew and only the tweeter works now. Looks good, but I should have spent the extra for the ks65 set. I figured 50 watts rms was enough but I forgot to factor in the fact that I have an after market deck ( Pioneer Premier) plus have this deck interested into my factory amplifier setup (Infiniti G20). I probably blew them up by overpowering them but they took abuse for months prior to blowing up but I just ordered the Precision Power 652 set with crossover so maybe they will hold up better than these under high power.

Nice Speakers

Used to replace damaged front door speakers in 1999 suburban six months ago. Sound fine with 8 speaker factory system. Good value ($48). No complaints.

omg 47$ i put a 50 watt rms amp on them all i can say is go kicker

I purchased them for my back deck in a '98 Golf with a 50 watt RMS amp on them. The bass is good and crisp. I would buy them again.

Great for the price!

I desperately needed new speakers for my '95 grand cherokee and these did the job. I'm still powering them off of my kenwood deck at the moment and they still get pretty loud. Excellent sound quality! No cons at the moment. I'm hoping to get an amp to power then shortly! Def recommend

A VERY BEAUTIFIL DEAL

For the little money I spent, I Feel I gotten the deal of a lifetime, the sound is so good that every time I turn on my car Stereo I can't help but think how gald I found you online, you guy really saved me a lot of money, I will keep doing business with you when it come to my car needs.

Good Speaker and Good Price

You can not beat the sound these speakers produce for the price you pay for them. I installed them in my truck and used the stock stereo to power them. 100% better than the stock speakers.

When factory just won't do...

I purchased a set of DS65, DS693, and DS35 speakers to replace my son's worn-out factory speakers. The DS65 is not an exact fit for the door panels, but it was easy enough to secure with my drill and it hides behind the factory grille so thieves won't be tempted. There was a vast improvement over the factory setup, the speaker can easily handle anything a factory radio dishes out and feels right at home with the 22w RMS that my Pioneer head unit supplies. So far, the price is right and they exceed his expectations for a first system. Sonic is the fastest, I ordered on Tuesday and had them installed by Thursday. From jazz to hip hop, these speakers do a great job - for the price I don't expect swivel tweeters but that's the only thing missing.

Think before you review

To all that give bad reviews.......when any product is mass produced there will be some fall out (aka failure) no matter the manufacture, product line. This not just for car audio. I have Kicker products in car and I am very happy with them.
