Kicker CVR's

The following review is for a previous version (10CVR122).

I own 2 of these in the factory kicker ported box, and i have to say these things get pretty loud! I suggest that you keep the kicker pre fab box also. Yes i know its pre fab but i owned 3 different boxes for these not including the kicker box. One was a selaed other as a ported and the third was was a big ported box and i likes the way the lows sounded on the big box but it didnt hit the high bass or mid bass very well so i went back to the prefab and this is where i have the best results. Long story short, keep the kicker box!

Good

The following review is for a previous version (10CVR122).

These are very nice subs, really loud and durable. I've had two of them for a year pushing them with a 1200watt 2 channel planet audio amp and I've never had a problem. These are a must for a kicker fan once you start getting into the later years of systems in my opinion.

Hits Hard!

The following review is for a previous version (10CVR122).

I recommended these subs to everyone, had two in a ported box and wow did they bang. Pros are they hit very hard and did not generate heat. I once played them at a party for about 6 hours and they did not go out on me. There were no cons with this subs, was running a Hifonics Brutus 1200.d1

Good sub

The following review is for a previous version (10CVR122).

I have two of these bad boys on a boss audio 2500m in a sealed box 3 cubic feet (don't laugh at the amp it was on a budget but it works great) in an 84 Chevy Caprice Classic sedan with a 307 small block with the stock alternator and they slam and not bad sound quality it will sound better when I port the rear deck to let the air move through overall no problems they give me deep clear bass and that's what I wanted.

Definitely the best bang for the buck I've found

The following review is for a previous version (07CVR122).

These were the first quality subs I purchased, and was not disappointed at all! Had 2 hooked up to a Audiobahn A8000T mono amp in my hatchback, and could only turn them up around halfway before it got to be too much. Tons of power, great construction, great quality. I'm buying another shortly since I miss 'em so much!

CVR 12'S!

The following review is for a previous version (07CVR122).

Just got two of these puppies today! My hands were shaking when i opened the box! I looked inside and they looked SHHHUUWEET! I felt them and the first thing i noticed was was how high qaulity they were! these suckers have some nice meat to em! Plus they look sweet! Id recommend these to anyone wanting a high quality sub that slaps hella hard! Buying a hifonics brutus 1700 for it because the people at sonic said that these puppies can handle way more than what it say! Subs are the best you can get for the price! NO DOUBT! Btw customer service is really worth the call they know what they are talking about.

Great Bass

The following review is for a previous version (05CVR122).

I had two of these hooked to the Kicker 400x1 amp. they were only getting pushed to half of their RMS, but still managed to slam so hard they broke a peice of panneling from my trunk. Sound Quality isnt the greatest but if you are looking for loud bass at low cost, these are definitely the way to go.

Awesome subwoofer!!

The following review is for a previous version (07CVR122).

I highly recommend this subwoofer to anyone!! Really good looking and sound is pretty insane. I recently bought one of these a dual 2 ohm model and have it wired to a rockford fosgate punch 500a2 and I can't see through the mirrors it shakes the whole car it's bad to the bone! All I really needed was just one woofer and this kicker does it all. I highly recommend kicker, it's reliable, sounds clean & loud. I've been using kicker products for years and they never let me down!
Get your self one or a couple and see what everyones talking about! :)

Decent...

The following review is for a previous version (10CVR122).

I was actually pretty disappointed in Kicker's new line of CVR's. I've owned the 07 models, which are amazing by the way....I've already went through 2 of these, last one burnt up yesterday...I really don't believe this is of my doing, for I have installed many systems. They sound great, but the durability of the new CVR's isn't as good as the older models. I'd recommend them for sure, but just take it easy on the power, even after the break-in period...

king fritz

The following review is for a previous version (10CVR122).

This sub is the one of the best when you put it on a amplifier at 30Hz like a fosgate amp you can play it all day seriously!!! its not necessary to put it verry loud that the cone vibrate too much.. its impossible to create a sub that's impossible to blow.. but the terminal leads should be on one side not spread out so much that part sucks bad..

I bought these from Sonic Electronix got them had them installed and yea they was beating hard like none other rear view mirror was falling down and my top of the hood and trunk had the sucking effct. But I bought the 2 ohm and 1 kept blowing after a month or two now I switched to the 4 ohm and they hit hard but not like the 2 ohm but they are not burning out either so I would just say if you get everythign set up right and with a good box you will be beating hard and im not talking like oh it sounds good im talking like people with their mouth dropped to the floor look while its sounding good ...

its good sub for the price

The following review is for a previous version (05CVR122).

SE has lowered this price dramatically since last year. If you are an entry person into car audio. Start with this then work your way up. Beginner sub, it has a limit. Always remember to be gentle with kickers for the first 2 hours of playing then you can abuse them.

I recommend these to anyone looking for heart pounding bass. He blew out his back deck but will be getting it repaired. He payed 5 grand for everything for it and is well worth it. Powerful and Well-Built

The following review is for a previous version (07CVR122).

I had 2 of these bad boys, wired in series inside of the box and wired parallel to my Kenwood KAC-9105D, giving me a final 2 OHM impendance. I was pushing 450 RMS to each CVR (50 more watts than recommended by Kicker) and they took it easily. These subs are very well built, and are from a name you can trust.

I pushed them for 6 months with the Kenwood KAC-9105D, until a bad storm came and rained through my trunk (where all the vibration had broken my window seal) and I didn't realize it until I had already turned the car on, and welll... The amp is ruined. I'm still holding onto these subs for when I buy a new amplifier, which I WILL order from Sonic! Great customer Service!

Deep for Cheap

The following review is for a previous version (07CVR122).

I picked this up for $50 used and put it in my own 1.5 cu ft sealed mildly stuffed enclosure and it rocks!!

I hooked it up to a Hitron 1000.1 amp ($79.99) with a 40 amp circuit breaker ($9.99) and it's very deep and loud at half gain and hasn't even pulled 400 watts rms yet.

My neighbor has a Kicker 750.1 amp and Kicker 08VS12L54. Mine is so much deeper and it really rattles your head with an enclosure half the size but it isn't near as loud for obvious reasons.

The long excursion makes it hard to find a good grill, but the trade off is well worth it.

I'd recommend this to anyone. This was my first kicker product and won't be my last.

Solo Baric Who? =]

The following review is for a previous version (07CVR122).

umm, all i can say is wow. got two of these in a ported box ran at 2 ohms with a zx750.1. best system i have ever heard. i heard 2 12 L7's. the SPL on these subs kills them. it becomes hard to see out of your windshield with these up and the gain about 5/8 up. best subs i have ever heard. we finished the install in my buddies garage around 12 at night. didnt even have them up for 2 mins and the cop came in the garage and said he had 3 local complaints. best bargain on the internet. 2nd best sub kicker makes next to the solo x.

Ok subs

The following review is for a previous version (05CVR122).

I used to own these subs but i traded them for the memphis'. They are good in the low but when they bass hits it sounds a little "bouncy". Whne you put these in a ported bow though, it gets very low, you can be heard from far away.

Kicker CVR's Good Subs!

The following review is for a previous version (07CVR122).

I ran two of these subs with a hifonics brutus 2000 watt amp and they hit hard! I recommend them as a sub for someone just starting out or wants a bang for their buck. The only downside of my system was that the preloaded kicker box that the CVRS came in sucked, so I put them in another box and it helped a ton! These are good subs for the money.

The Best Bass on the Beach!

The following review is for a previous version (07CVR122).

I bought the Kicker Sub from Sonic Electronix.com at the best price I could find anywhere. I put a pair of 12's in my Eclipse and listen to music with the most awesome pounding bass on the beach. The Kickers out perform any sub I have listened to, none of my buddies sound systems even come close. I am very pleased with how they look in my car, but most of all how they sound, a very powerful sound. Thanks Sonic for the great deal!

Great sub!

The following review is for a previous version (05CVR122).

I have this subwoofer in a 1998 Chevrolet Pickup Extended cab, in a sealed box underneath my back seat. The subwoofer doesn't get nearly as much air space as it's recommended to have, and it still hits HARD. It's hooked up to an MTX 300XD amp at around half power, so it's running less than half RMS, and I've been pulled over numerous times. Listen responsibly =]

Overall, this subwoofer is a great deal, it has nice, crisp sound (and if it doesn't, you didn't set it up right.). It's definitely a great deal, and a wonderful buy! It's the envy of all my friends.

IT SURELY KICKS

The following review is for a previous version (07CVR122).

I bought this sub for a month and had it wired to get 4 ohms driven by a 400 watt amp. I had it installed on my previous sub box from a dealer I bought the previous sub. And even on a a box under its min required size, this sub rattles every cranny of my truck. And when I crank it up, I could hear buzzing on my ears. This sub is just awesome, get it!

These speakers are amazingly powerful. When the bass is going, I cant look out my rear view mirror!! I have heard many subs, and these are an extreme value. Huge bass with these things. I recommend. They also look really cool.

factory setup

The following review is for a previous version (05CVR122).

I connected one of these subs to an ma audio amp pushing 400 watts RMS from the factory head unit in a Chevy HHR and it sounds amazing! I didn't expect such good results from this setup considering the lack of an after market HU but, I was very impressed. Would recommend this sub as a very affordable option to anyone.

Please god do not buy!

The following review is for a previous version (05CVR122).

These speakers are WAY overrated. I put 300 watts RMS to each of these speakers, say at about 3 minute drag, they overheated. No problem. Restarted the system the next day and at a 30 second drag, the left channel Sub's voice coil was ripped off, and the other sub burned the voice coil solid. They have great sound if you use VERY low wattage and do not attempt to push them. KICKER SUBS ONLY**** LIKE KICKER AMPS!

I bought these in a set of 2 for $129. Holy cow what a deal. THIS SUBS SLAM they sounds ridiculous in my hatchback, i couldnt be happier with my purchase. Best money i ever put into my car. I push all 1600 watts to them on a regular basis and not once have they let me down. Great sound, great value, SonicelEctronix.com has my business for life! I bought a year warranty cause i wanted to put them in myself. I've never thought about calling to complain a single time. 6 months and still slappin. i have nothing against any other audio company, but i am truely impressed with the quality from Kicker! BUY THIS.

want the hardest hitting bass for your buck

The following review is for a previous version (07CVR122).

i got two of these from sonic ( best price and by far the best service and shipping) put em in a sealed truck enclosure, pushed em with the kicker zx850.2, about one cubic feet of air space. the out come. DAMN THAT HITS HARD, been pushing em for two years, no cracks no distortion, no problems, and the bass just kept getting louder. never have i heard such great quality bass from just two 12's and i have heard some systems that break glass. i stand behind kicker all the way after this purchase. i set it up 2ohm parallel. in a 98 ford f150 single cab. it hit so hard it would distort my highs. you want a bad ass system, this is where you start.

I have one of these hooked up to a amp putting out 400 at 4ohm, i wired this in series to get a 4ohm load. Its in a 1.4cuft sealed enclosure and gets maximum excursion. Very Impresive

The following review is for a previous version (05CVR122).

So I was in my nearest dealer looking around for subs when he showed me the Kicker Comp VR's. To be quiet honest I wasn't expecting all that much from them, but when they got turned up to half volume I was amazed at how clear and hard hitting these subs were, and that was only half volume! I was just all around impressed with these subs and I would recommend them to any one.

CVR's are UNDERRATED!!!!!

The following review is for a previous version (05CVR122).

There's something wrong with the guy that said these subs are overrated. He said he put 300 WATTS RMS to each and they overheated in 30 seconds???? Yeah right. I have 2 of these running off of a Hifonics BX1605D (1600 Watts) Amp, AND I broke my CVR's down to 1 ohm....which means they're getting 800 watts RMS or more EACH! I play my system HARD and LOUD for hours and I've had NO PROBLEMS. No burning, overheating, nothing. So if anything CVR's are UNDERRATED!!! Buy these subs....you won't be dissapointed.

Should Only Buy with Ported Kicker Box

The following review is for a previous version (05CVR122).

Very good subs. Have a friend with 2 of these in the recommended (Kicker Livin Loud) box. Rock solid bass with no distortion. Still sound good even after cranking up the volume. Would highly recondmend these subs with the ported Kicker box that's made for 2 of these bass rattling kickers that says Kicker Livin Loud on the front of the box. These speakers are alright with a sealed box but are 20% louder in the recondmended box for them. Still good subs in a sealed box, but they just sound better ported. Don't let this stop you from purchasing these subs because I'm about to buy 2 of them in a sealed box.

Great subs for this price!

The following review is for a previous version (05CVR122).

My friend had bought these subs with the Enclosure and Sub combo, he had paired with a Rockford Fosgate Amp, crazy deep bass, actually shook the door of Taco Bell when he was parked on the other side... yea, if given enough power and with the proper wiring and such, they WILL bang. Really for this price range it is the best bang for the buck in my opinion. A+ Quality!
