shaking my head lmao damn...

well kicker has always been a well known brand and made loud efficient subs but me and my girl had purchased 3 of these cvr 12's and have them running on a hifonics zues 2400.1D at 2ohm and they sound super weak mind u I have them set at 2ohms at the amp; is the amp is pulling half its power but still they should bang like the old cvr's. I had recently bought 3 hifonics Hercules and had them running at 0.67 ohm at the amp subs ran in parallel. and they banged but eventually they blew after only 2 weeks of running them here and there they literally were smoking lol.instead of upgrading to the cvr 12's I should've went w the new hifonics brutus subs they prolly would've sounded way better than these kickers horrible im disappointed really ima put them at 1/2 ohm and see if they pound a little better and can handle that zues amp or their goin back...I guess what im saying is if ur gonna ever go w a kicker sub id recommend the solo baric L7 they have always quaked.!!

Better Than Expected

I saw these subs a while ago but looked at the specs and didn't want to purchase them. My audio guy recommended them to me so I decided to give them a shot. I have them in a custom box in a Caddy truck and they quake. Good, clean, bass. Reliable subs, no complaints here. I'm not sure of the wattage handling because I'm not using for competition purposes but I've ridden 3 hours blasting them with no probs.

good sounding subwoofers!

These subs are nice looking I have a 03 Buick century. Furthermore these subwoofers hit hard most people say that you cant have good sound quality with kicker subwoofers however you can it is all in the control settings of the headunit and the amp whatever you do try to keep your gain as low as possible and bass at reasonable level and you will do just fine kicker cvx can take high excursion and most important hits very hard

Clean sound while getting pretty loud!

I installed one in my Supercrew powered by a 400w Kicker amp, and lets just say, I'm more than happy! It sounds so much cleaner than my previous pioneer 12. I would definitely recommend this!

Amazing

I have 2 of these hooked up to an Alpine m-500 amp and they sound AMAZING. Could not be happier with the setup and the sound quality. I definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for good quality subs.

Worth the extra $$$

I have owned 2 of these 12" cvrs for almost a year now and they continue to impress me and my friends. I have had no problems with the subs whatsoever, they are hooked up to an 850 mono block amp and that pushes them just fine. I have even had a small dent on one of the subs and it hasn't effected the production of hard hitting bass that anyone taking the time to read this would find awesome. Overall there's a reason they are called Kickers.

i used to like kicker until i owned two of these...

I used to be a kicker fan i thought kicker were decent. My friend had two of the previous model cvr's and they hit hard so i figured the newer model would be as good. I was wrong. Let me start by saying yes i have them running off 500 watts rms a piece but i have the amp cut down and within a minute they start getting really hot and smell awful and they hit nowhere near as hard as the previous model if i knew i would have used the money i spent on these and got a set of type r's or the new type s's for the same price or cheaper. People if you want cvr's get the previous model (the ones with the silver cone) ill never buy kicker again.

12'' cvr's

Had 2 12" cvr's running on a jbl gto1201.1II. These subs sounded very clean and hit really hard. For sure would recommend these subs to anyone looking for a nice clean sub.

A Bang for your Buck!

This sub-woofer from Kicker has not failed to impress. I have this particular sub-woofer in a ported box powered by a 1500watt amp, and I must say the sound quality and power is excellent. For a single 12" sub, it sure has great sound output. I have had no problems with it thus far.

Pros: Sound quality, range, output, LOOKS!

Cons: Peak/RMS rating (wish it could handle more)

This sub-woofer is worth the money.

Great Subwoofer

I have this 12" Kicker in a sealed 1.25 cu. box and the sound, sounds great. The first initial install of the sub sounded weak when trying to go high volume and the bass could not hit any hard. But this was due to not giving this sub a couple days of low volume break in periods. I am using a 300.1 kicker amp and what I can say in my opinion is WOW! I can get low volume full stereo bass and now high volume long bass boom. All in all, I am happy with my purchase! (I can only imagine how much more bass I would get if I had an amp 400 watts or higher...)

Decent entry level subs, good price!

These are good, entry level subs. I had a set of the 2007 versions, then upgraded to these when they came out in 2010. 1.2 cubic feet per sub with some acoustic filling in a sealed box sounded great in my 300M, wired to a Kicker KX600.1 amp @ 2ohms. They were getting about 300 watts each, and that suited them just fine. I upgraded to a Hifonics BRX2100.1D amp and a slot ported box to try to get more output, and my friend warned me I was gonna smoke the voicecoils. No way I thought. Turns out he was right. I was bumping loud as heck one day and I noticed it sounded funny. Smelled something burning, pulled over, popped the trunk and sho nuff I had magic smoke pouring from the left speaker. Long story short, run these in a sealed box with moderate power and you'll do fine. Want something much louder, upgrade to CVX's or L7's.

Still Running Strong

From my previous review about the WOW factor on this 12-inch subwoofer. It still amazes me how much bass still thumps from this subwoofer using my 300.1 kicker amp. From my 2015 review till present (2020), I am still a happy camper for buying kicker subs!!!
