Best buy ever

I would recommend this to any one who is looking to improve there sound and to listen to music in a different way . I own a lexus is350 and it sounds great with jl audio C3-650 front and C2-650 rear and jl wt5-13.5.

Excellent Processor & Crossover

I bought this processor primarily for it's time alignment feature. I had this feature in an Alpine HU I had years ago. Why more manufactures don't add this to their products I don 't know. A little tip on setting the Stage control. The manual suggests using music with a "strong female vocal blah blah blah" to adjust the "Stage". Don't waste your time. I use a mono Beatles CD to set the time alignment. With a mono signal source the image should be the center of your dash. Fade your HU to it's front speakers only and dial in the amount of delay to the left channel until the sound stage centers itself on your dash. Once you've done that, do the same for the rear speakers. I personally don't care much for the "Surround" and "SHOC" features and don't really use them.

The FR's crossover on the other hand is excellent. I have my front and rear speakers hi-passed around 80Hz @ 24dB/octave. The sub-woofers are lo-passed at the same frequency with a 48dB/octave slope. This does an outstanding job of removing any mid-bass from the subs that might give away the fact that they're located in the back. For me this allows the subs and front speakers (the rear speakers are set low so they don't detract from the up front imaging I prefer) to blend together seamlessly. I haven't had a chance to fiddle with the sub's phase control. It's currently set to zero and I haven't felt the need to tweak it any.

The only feature that the FR lacks IMO is a bypass setting on the remote. I'm usually in the truck alone so I have the Stage set up for optimum listening for when I'm the only listener. This makes for a bit of an odd listening experience for when there is a passenger riding along with me. A quick bypass button for these instances would be a nice addition over dialing out the time alignment for the front & rear speakers individually every time there is a passenger with me and then having to dial it back in again for when I'm alone.

I only gave the Durability 3 stars because the FR is NEW and I'm reviewing it NOW. Value gets 4 stars because the FR is a bit on the pricey side.

Excellent Product!

I must be the first in Jamaica to buy this. I bought this product a few days ago. Have it installed in my corolla ae110. Have it on two kicker cvr12's and two eminence beta 8a's. Upon installation I was able to hear the difference in sq coming from the speakers and a more powerful sound system. At first I was using the boss bx45 and had to turn my gains all the way up. Now my gains are just below half and is much cleaner and louder!... Excellent product! The remote works just as advertised and the clip limiter is an excellent feature!!

im not a big fan of this!!

This dsp i have had for over 6 months already! the time alignment is a nice feature and the kick eq is nice but how ever the dsp seams to introduce a popping sound when ever my system turns on and off and its loud enough to damage the speakers!!! i spoke to kicker and they told me i have my gains set to high then i told them where they are at and i adjusted it and kept playing with it for them. After all of that he said it was my system then and i said ok if its my system i will remove this and see if it still pops on me! So i did remove it and no pop!! Now let me just tell you that i do not have a cheap system! It consists of 2 pioneer and 1 nvx amplifiers a second battery with isolator and also a pioneer head unit with 2 nvx vcw 12 inch subs in a box and also i have the ID's cxs64 v2.....(to give you a general image of the whole system and better understanding that i am going for sound quality when i build my systems!!) I spoke with plenty of professionals on this and they told me it was the KFR and kicker wont do anything about it!!!!!!! what a shame!!!!

Amazing Sound Processor

I bought this mainly for separating 2 channels from a factory headunit that has AC controls built in the screen(so it can’t be easily replaced) into six channels. Front, rear and Sub... so basically a crossover and output converter.

THE TIME DELAY FEATURE IS AMAZING. You will realize how “off” the music sounds without time delay. With the dial you can adjust the effect in real time instantly instead of “in steps” like some aftermarket head-units.

As for Sub amp settings, it has bass boost at around 40-50hz, or bass enhancing capabilities like an Epicenter or those “bass maximizers”
So your sub can play:
-Normal
-bass boost (adds rich low end if song has weak lows)
-bass maximizer ( plays an octave lower for really LOW BASS for certain types of music only. If music is bass heavy this will make it sound bad.)

Front Row

Well let's just say it's a must have for anyone needing and/or wanting clarity for highs and lows. It cleans up any distortion, boost you sound quality and puts you in the "Front Row"!

Works as advertised

This unit is a great addition to my sound system. Works great as a three way crossover! I was able to fine tune 8" mid bass speakers for cleaner sound. Other features work great too. Would not hesitate to buy again!
