So far so good for kicker, but NOT SONIC

I ordered the pair of speaker about two months ago and today I was finally free to install these into my car. I completed the installation with ease thanks to kicker! Everything went well except for one of the cross overs didn't fully function. The cross overs have a selector switch to increase or decrease the DB's on the tweeter and the tweeter only worked in the +6DB spot. So ONCE again I have received a "bran" new product from SONIC bad out of the box. I seem to find the trend with this web site and probably will not give them any more of my business. I understand that every once in a while things will ship defected, but if their customer service is extremely horrible which makes this a loose loose situation!

Great speakers

I installed these speakers in my front doors of my 02 4runner and these sound amazing. The tweeters are crystal clear, and the mids and the bass from the woofers are great

2011 Toyota Tacaoma Access Cab, Great Upgrade!

After installing and not having to brake the bank; the sound quality vs the cost is a great upgrade and recommend to all. I have Kicker IX500.4 amp pushing a set of Kicker KS693 6"x9" 3-way, Kicker KS6.2 6 1/2" 2-way with tweeters, and a Pioneer receiver Avic X950BH.

Best customer service, best pricing, everything you need to start to finish.

Weak Link

The rest of my kicker system is awesome, I had purchased top of the line amps and subwoofers. My only regret is that I didn't go for the matched seperates, however overall the system sounds great. The midbass speakers sometimes distort and bottom out, this may be a funtion of how the eq is adjusted and crossover fine tuning. Still they lack the capacity that the amp is capable of delivering. Overall, kicker is an excellent product and I would highly recomend it. Just buy matched products and don't cheap out to save a buck.

Great sound over stock.

I bought these because I wanted something that had a separate tweeter and better sound over stock so I could hear the mids and highs over my 2 12" Kicker CVRs. These do the trick and I was looking for Kickers when I got them, so it's also a plus. The tweeter is a titanium dome, so It's not like a silk dome. So don't expect to much at really high volumes. The mids though are great. I also love the fact you can adjust the db of the tweeters, come in real handy in setting up the system. Overall I love that I bought them and I am planning on getting another set for the back of my Jeep.

Hate Them.

Pros: Great sound quality when set up properly. Easy break in compared to other Kicker speakers I have had.

Cons: I absolutely hated these speakers. They are not very loud for the power that I am putting to them (a whole 90 watts rms each). My Kicker KS 4x6's are just as loud almost with just 20 watts rms each. They are also in my opinion very fragile. The spider was very loose right off the bat and the surround got a hole in it during the install. You also have to be very careful with these speakers due to the massive bass produced with the woofers. They need a meticulously set amp crossover, or the bass in the equalizer turned ALL the way down. They were popping and I almost blew them before I even got my crossovers set.

Kicker normally has great quality (especially in their wires), but I am never buying any kicker speakers again unless they are off the QS variety (love those).

Super clear

I install 2 sets of these in a 2012 Chevy Silverado crew cab. They are as loud as they get very clean installation.

great sound great price

I have a 2007 Mini Cooper S, and these are a great choice for your audio upgrade. This set helped me solve 2 issues: 1 was where to put the tweeter, 2, I didn't want to modify the door.

Sound great with an amp!

I previously had the coaxial version of these speakers and decided to upgrade to the components to bring up my sound stage. I have them powered with 50 watts RMS each from an Alpine MRP-F300. They sound great, very loud and clear, no distortion so long as you set the gain correctly. Tweeters are a tad bright, I initially had them turned up all the way on the crossover but had to back it down because my ears were bleeding. Sound much better backed off. Tweeters get incredibly loud and crisp without distorting, but don't get it confused, these are bright tweets. Def not silk dome.

Build quality seems good, I was impressed with how "beefy" the tweeter and crossovers seem. Comes with about 50000 pieces to mount the components however you want. I was able to hide the tweeters in the stock tweeter location after fabbing up some brackets, so it looks stock. :)

Can't comment on how they sound off head unit power, but I wouldn't recommend it anyway. Feed em some power and these babies sound awesome! Was a great bargain in my opinion.

Great Sounding

These speakers sound great as I can hear all the instruments on any type of music. Also you can get the full sound spectrum except lows that should be assigned to a sub woofer if you have a equalizer which your company sells. My system has a eight band built in EQ so I did not require a seperate unit. An equalizer does much more then simple Bass / Treble tone controls, you can remove un-wanted freqencies as well. Anyway I had Infinity speakers in my other vehicle and they had good sound however I like these better. I seperated the tweeters on the front two because my vehicle has a space for them and installed the tweeters in the speaker in the rear ones. Anways I like the sound and clarity and the price is good.
