Amazing

The following review is for a previous version (10ZX400.1).

This little amp (due to budget issues) pushes out TWO 12" subs with an rms of 350ish a piece (1200w max). And it makes you shake. Amazing. Go with kicker brand, don't be cheap when it comes to the amp! Longevity and heat resistance are key.

Great Amp

The following review is for a previous version (10ZX400.1).

This a great littl sub amp. Compact, yet powerful. It drives the MTX Thunderform in my Crew Cab GMC Canyon very nicely. I would definately recommend to anyone looking for good power out of a smaller amp; and, as usual, SonicElectronix prices, shipping, and support are among the best out there.

Not bad

The following review is for a previous version (10ZX400.1).

I had this pushing my L7 and it sounded really nice. It worked really well. The only reason i got rid of it was because i wanted upgrade to more wattage.

Very happy first time buyer!

This is the first sound system that I have owned and with doing all my "homework" prior to buying, I am happier with Kicker than I expected. I want to say thanks to those guys for making a fantastic product!

Amazing

This amp is a great buy. After an hour of head banging rock, the amp was cold to the touch. It sounds good for both rock/rap.

Awesome

The following review is for a previous version (10ZX400.1).

This amp is great for metal/hard rock. I use it to power a 4 ohm, 300 watt RMS, DVC 12" sub. It POUNDS. I have the gain set to less than half, I have no issues with my lights dimming, at night, and the best thing is, this amp stays literally cold to the touch, even after hour-long drives cranking Slayer... Very efficient and a great price for such a quality product.

zx400.1

The following review is for a previous version (10ZX400.1).

This is a great amp as is anything KICKER. I have it pushing two alpine type-r 12s at two ohms and they slam. My only complaint is it not coming with a bass/gain knob, but overall a great product and good value.

Lives up to the Kicker name!

The following review is for a previous version (10ZX400.1).

I'm really happy with this amp. It provides great power with low distortion in a small package. This amp powers my 10" L5 sub perfectly. I would recommend this amp to a friend. Also for those that don't know Kicker includes a "birth certificate" with their amps that tell you the true rms wattage of the amp you buy. Mine was certified at 453 watts rms.

What I expected...

The following review is for a previous version (10ZX400.1).

I have some experience with Kicker products. This is the 5th Kicker amp I've purchased. They always work as advertised, have great output and solid sonic performance. This one is no exception. With 2 10" shallow mount subs, it really lit up the Del Sol! Unfortunately, my son didn't like the car, so now the amp sits, waiting on a custom box for the Scion, but I really like the Kicker products. This amp is no exception! Runs cool, easy to hook up, works as advertised, exactly what I expect from Kicker and Sonic Electronix.

Great little amp

Don't look at the price tag on this amp, It doesn't matter. This amp is worth every penny. It may not put out a crazy amount of power, but it will make your subs hit. I love this amp and have powered every pair of subs I've owned on it. Great amp, great buy. Highly recommend.

The best Amp I ever heard

When I want to SWAT (Stereo West Audio Toys) for their birthday bash, I bought a pair of 12 Kicker comp since it was buy one and get one free. With my luck, the Kicker rep was showing off what Kickers can do among other things. I originally was going to buy a DX amp, or I was going to go to inPhase and buy a Alpine MRX mono.

The Kicker rep told me to buy the ZX400.1. I thought it was a great deal since it was on sale and I never regretted buying it.

I would say if anyone was looking for a great mono amp, BUY THIS ONE.

More power then Expected!!

The following review is for a previous version (ZX400.1).

This amp blew me away. i've tried 3 different amps in my car rated more then this amp, but this amp ate them alive as soon as i turned my music up the first time... kicker says 400 watts peak but they underated it, so it is actually putting out 450 - 500 watts... so just be careful with the gain... it also comes with a remote gain control which comes very handy in quick change. it also has a sub sonic filter which will remove frequencies that are not hearable by the human ear which will give ur subs a longer life and also helps port tunning. what i thought was VERY VERY sleek was that all 3 knobs for gain, filter, and boost are right on top and very easy accisible.. so u dont need a screw driver and a flash light and bend all the way down to c what u are doing... its right on top! it is also very energy efficent, and does not heat too much easirly...

A Good Buy

The following review is for a previous version (08ZX400.1).

This is my first amp, i have it powering 2 Kicker CVR 10's. It has no problem running them, doesn't get hot what so ever. About 2 months after the install, i noticed a very low pitch screaming noise coming from it. It is mounted about 4ft away from me and i have very good hearing, but the amp still works just fine and it only happens sometimes. Don't be alarmed because i have a truck that is lifted and the suspension is very stiff and the truck takes a pounding so that might be the problem I'm not sure.

Pros: Mine came from Kicker rated at 485 watts so 85 free watts works for me, very easy to follow hook up.

Cons: None that i know of, just for what i wrote up top but then again it could be because of the truck.

kicker 400

The following review is for a previous version (ZX400.1).

had this guy about two weeks now. hooked up to a 10 solobaric and this thing KICKS. Enough power to knock my door handles off, and i have to adjust my rear view mirror every 2 minutes. Wont rattle the car next to you badly, but if you looking to add some killer bass, i highly recommend. Also, says its rated 400 rms but mine came with a certificate rated at 490!!! thats almost another 100 watts free!

Awesome amp!

The following review is for a previous version (08ZX400.1).

This is a great amp. It puts out more power than it is actually rated for. I like how solid this amp is, don't let the size fool you, this thing packs a big punch. Easily one of the best amps i have ever bought. I am powering a Boston Acoustics G3 (which i also bought from sonic) with this amp and i don't have to turn the gain up past half to be loud as hell. This thing doesn't even come close to heating up either. I am sure this amp will take hours of abuse before it even gets close to hot. I would definitely recommend this amp if you are powering anything from 200 to 500 rms. Kicker is simply the way to go.

Big power, small package

The following review is for a previous version (ZX400.1).

I had this amp hooked to 2 CVR 12's. it was only pushing them to half of their RMS, but they still slammed. Made my tunk rattle so bad it actually broke off a peice of panneling. I live in Hawaii and it gets hot here and iv run this amp most of the day before and it barely even heated up. And the remote gain control is really handy as well.

Powerful!!!

The following review is for a previous version (10ZX400.1).

Kicker has kept a powerful edge with their amps. I ordered this amp and paired it with a Rockford Fosgate 12" P2. I've the gain turned up to about 40% and the sub slams in a ported box. Just remember, use good wiring (Kicker, Rockford, or Tsunami) and your sounds will pound. Plus, sonic's saved me about $200 off the top. MEAN!!!!

great bass

The following review is for a previous version (10ZX400.1).

I have this in a 2007 Honda Civic pushing a single 8" L7 in a custom ported box and it hits hard. I was afraid the 400.1 would be too much for just one 8" sub but I was wrong. Kicker products may seem a bit expensive but you get what you pay for. My only complaint is that I had to buy the remote separately ($25). Other than that it's a great product.

Kicker's the way to go

The following review is for a previous version (ZX400.1).

Purchased this a few weeks ago and have been very satisfied with it. I have it powering Kicker dcvr12" and it shakes my car. Mine came rated at 482 Max Watts which comes in use when powering my subs. I might be upgrading to the 750.1 amp in the future to get better performance out of my subs. I push this amp well over the RMS for an extended period of time and this amp can handle it without clicking off or getting real hot. I am very satisfied with this product and will be a Kicker user for life (as should you)

awesome amp

To start off, I had this amp for a long time and never had one single problem with it other than a few times went into protection mode from being hot, but was a really hot day out when that happened. I would recomend this because it's compact and overall really good looking. It performs like a champ, and will push your subs to the edge so if you're looking for an amp that will get the job done then look no further kicker has it.
