Just Right

I bought four of these for our 2007 Ford Focus sedan based on power handling, frequency response and price. The rear speakers would provide rear fill, while the fronts would be amplified and crossed over.

The Lanzars dropped right into the car with no problem. Don't you hate when you buy a universal speaker and it doesn't quite fit?

I wasn't too concerned with bass response from these speakers, since I had a separate subwoofer. Plus I'm not an audiophile so who knows what's excellent. Generally speaking, the Lanzars were sufficient for me. Maybe the dampened doors helped.

I have the front Lanzars powered with 50 watts RMS and crossed over at 80hz. So far they've handled everything I've thrown at them in the 6 months we've had them. They get way too loud before any sign of distortion. I know that wouldn't be the case if they were playing full range, but it's all in how you use them, right?

All in all, we're satisfied. The Lanzars fit the car with no hassle and do everything we ask of them with no drama. On a different setup they may show weaknesses, but in our case... they're just right.

good speakers

i have these in 6x9s in my other car so i went with these for my father in laws car. i figured for the price couldn't beat it esp since he doesn't really care much for expensive stuff or a brand name. his factory fords were gone so he asked me to get him some speakers. at first i thought they had sucked compared to the 6x9s. but after i rode in the car again about 2 months later on a 2k mile road trip. they sounds a lot better. great for a stock replacement on a budget. sound is clear bass isn't really there but they produce clean sound especially for the price.. not to shabby

Ehhhh, be careful....

I bought these because they had the most 5 star reviews on Sonic's website and they were CHEAP. I just recieved and installed them tuesday 1/3/2012 and immediately took them out and returned them to Sonic's. There is almost NO bass response and the 4 year old MA Audio 5x7's i had in there sounded 10x better.
I also had to return 2 sets of them for replacements before even installing them because the plastic around the speakers was craked and actually fell off in my hand, and wires were burnt and had solder all over them from the factory.
Be Careful and Look at SonicElectronix 40-60$ pairs MUCH better quality. I really couldnt see these lasting more than a month (if you get a pair thats not already broken).

Great speakers

This speakers sound great. They are real clear loud and soft. For the price you absolutely cant go wrong. i'd recommend these over lots of expensive speakers and they cost a fraction of the price. couldn't be happier with them.
