Great Camera

This camera works really well, great view day or night and easily installed.

Excellent choice!

This is a great camera with superior view up, down, left and right. I've replaced my E*** camera and this one is a champ! Digital markers (shows approx. distance) will make it look like a factory option; day/night video looks excellent. I can see my rear bumper and all of the back view as well. Long enough wiring supplied as well.

Works Well, No Problems So Far, But I found a Flaw!!

I would recommend this product. It does work well; however, I did find a flaw in it. If you would like to keep the wires from being noticeable in the back, behind your license plate, the back wire piece is much wider in one spot and I ended up cutting the wire in order to get it through a small hole I had to drill in my vehicle. It didnt make sense to drill a large hole to fit the whole piece through and then only a small wire going through it. This would lead to car leaking. I then had to assemble the wiring back to the original form and with not a lot of room to work with, it was very frustrating. I did get the camera to work, with only only a small hole that needed to be drilled. It would just be easier if the wider end was detachable.

Works OK

It is functional. Works OK. Yesterday, i had a huge rain downpour and still the cam is functional.

Only small design issue is that the wires have a wide hub to merge them. This means you need a much wider hole in the car to pass the wire even though the wire is thin before and after this hub (See the pics carefully).

Solid Product

I am very satisfied with the quality and performance of this product. The resolution and colour is excellent. The night vision works great. I've used it for over 6 months and it has withstood -20C winter and pressure washing without fogging up or cracking.

The only thing I needed for the install was longer license plate bolts.

Great Cam

Easy to install, clear on days and nights. In 6 month never have a problem with it. I recommend this Cam to anybody.

Great Backup Camera

I have had this camera installed on my Silverado since Winter 2010. So far I have had no issues. It has gotten wet, muddy and snowy. It works great for hooking up to my trailers. I did remove the depth lines on mine by switching the jumper. I have mine hooked to a 7in screen. I wouldn't want any smaller of a screen. Overall I have had no issues so far and i think it is a great product. Have thought about putting one elsewhere.

Great Addition

I bought 2 of these, one for my car, a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse with a Jensen VM9314 head unit, and one for my girlfriends 1996 Ford Mustang with a Boss BV9999BI head unit. It works great with both so as far as it being universal, it truly is. So long as you have a single RCA input for the camera it will be good to go.

For the install of both cars I t-tapped the camera pos. and neg. wires into the backup lights pos. and grnd. wires at the tail light. This way the camera only powers on when the car is in reverse only. I ran the RCA cable to the head units and plugged it in. It was that simple.

I gave 3 stars on durability only because it’s been installed for 2 days. It claims to be waterproof and feels solid, so we will see. I waterproofed the connections so theoretically it should be fine. It works great for day and night, and the distance meter works great. I have no complaints.

Great camera for the price

I bought this camara 6 months ago and had it installed on my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500.

Pros:
The adjustable angle is great. I can set it just right to see those micro convertables behind me in parking lots.

Night vision is awesome. As clear as day

The line graduations for distance are very helpful

Fairly wide field of vision

Cons:

Difficult to see images in fog, rain, snow, icy conditions

Gets dirty and hard to see very quicly

Wiring harness is short

this camera works flawlessly! night vision works great and i have it hooked up so i can turn it on while im driving so i can see whats going on behind me.

Hits and Misses

Only two complaints:
1. the connectors and splitter on the cable necessitated drilling too large a whole to run the cables into the car. If they cannot come up with some type of smaller intermediate connector to pass it through a smaller hole, they should at least include a 3/4" cap to seal the oversize hole around the cable.
2. the distance markings are rendered such that they would only be accurate if the camera was mounted several feet off the ground, rather than the lower position of the license plate, to which the camera is intended to be mounted.

Not bad for the price

Overall, it's a good camera for the price. My only issue is that it looks really washed out at night because of my license plate lights.

On a different vehicle, where the lights hit from a different angle, it may not be an issue at all.

GREAT camera.

The camera really is a great one. What suprised me the most about it was the fact that it had programmable guidelines. Meaning you can take the lines off if you want, but I don't know why you would want to? When the camera is hooked up correctly the guidelines on the camera are VERY accurate. I can park my truck within an inch of anything. Night vision looks good. I never have a problem viewing anything at anytime. Also the wide viewing angle is great. You can see things coming from a ways away BEFORE you can actually see them with your head. Sooo good stuff.

Easy to install

I picked this camera thinking it would be easy to install on the license plate. It was. It was easy to connect to my kenwood head unit in my F150. Works as it should. Have not used any other cameras to know how this one compares.

very nice camera

Its great, works all the time day and night. I'm very please with this product. I have this in my 4 runner for the last 6 months and it looks great.

Great Camera

This is by far the best camera i've owned. I don't think i'll be replacing this one anytime soon. The clarity is exceptional, the guide lines are accurate, the night vision works great. The camera is adjustable with several different settings. The wire seems to be quality construction, and includes jumpers to take off the mirror image, and another to take off the guide lines if you wanted. We have alot of salt in my area, so we'll see, but I am not worried. Great camera.

Good Value

The camera is really good for the price. Fits perfect on the license plate frame. Good picture.

Works great so far

Installation was simple after finding a youtube video showing my vehicle. I he unit was installed with no drilling or modification to the car. After having it installed for 6 months or so, I really like it. It works good, provides the viewing that I wanted/needed and performs as expected.

There are cheaper products out there. Don't know if they would have been as suitable as this one or not. I am very pleased with this one and would recommend this unit.

Good value

Ordered and received the camera in very good time. The camera works as expected, and is now mounted on the front of my car. It helps to park against curbs and parking barriers to keep all the plastic that's now so prevalent on all cars from getting banged scratched and torn when trying to park especially in a low sprots car like the Nissan 370Z roadster.

This is a great product for the price, the night vision works well and the construction is of high quality. Usable on front or rear, has distance marks to.

Love it!

I've installed these cameras on both the front and rear of my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and I love them. The front camera recently allowed me to see a neighbor boy on a bike on the sidewalk in front of me that I couldn't see over the hood. Had I started to move I could have run him over never knowing he was there. The rear facing camera makes backing into the driveway, especially at night, much easier. I highly recommend these cameras.

Best back up camera!

It works good in daytime and nightime! It never fails! Never had a problem on it. I strongly recommend it!

Good camera. Night Vision is very clear and bright. Can be limited to mount locations on Wrangler.

Good Camera for the price

Camera output is not very colorful, but very clear view. Only one real compliant and may end up replacing camera because the size of the body of the camera will block the state name (which is illegal in AZ) when mounted to the top of license plate.

Satisfied Customer

Overall quite satisfied with the value and performance of this camera. My only complaint it that the sun tends to wash the picture out if at the right angle.

I got this camera six months ago and installed in my Matrix 2009. I'm really happy and satisfied with this product. The wide angle and guidelines for distance is excellent. Night vision is superb and the camera can be adjustable. The price is very very good. I'm a happy camper!

Love it!

I asked my son to find me a good back up cam and told him I didnt want to pay alot for it. WOW did he do a great job! so much that after having mine for a few months he ordered the same for himself. The other cam I had didnt have a good view, but this one I can see much better. Thank You for making a good affortable product.

Good deal for the money

The rear cam wired right up and works well. It has guide bars on the screen to help you see where you are going. A real bumper saver.

Perfect!

This back up cam is great! Very wide viewing area, clear as can be and very easy to see at night with night lights it has on it. Definetly would recommend.

Lock Pick Bar-Cam 221 Review

Great product, hooked it up, to my girlfriends JVC NX-7000 headunit and she loves it. I never hooked the led lights up, because you really don't need them since it is hooked up to the reverse light. Only complaint is that the screws provided are starting to rust, other than that A+++

Nice Addition

This was easy to install and operate. I have used it on several occasions and found it very useful in getting out of a tight position or hooking up the trailer.

Design to work

This unit is a good unit, I use it for my Nissan Rogue 2009, it a great on color a no it night if you are look for a back bar cam this the one to buy

A reasonably priced back-up cam

I am using this with a Garmin 5000 GPS which has an automatic switching video input.
The two devices work well together. I do notice some horizontal lines that tend to scroll slowly, but they are not dark enough to cause a problem seeing the image. They might be from the Garmin, not the cam.
I am not using the scaled grid, I don't find it that necessary.
All in all it seems to be a good solution.

Simple to install has great night vision. A little blurry but stilla nice unit.

So far its holding up

Mounted on the bumper of a FJ cruiser and made it through the Phoenix summer. Simple to hook up to the stereo.

works great can see everything

I am actually using this camera in a shed as part of a security camera set up . I needed the wide angle to cover as much as possible, I can say the camera works great, its been running 24 hours a day 7 days a week with out fail. This camera has the widest angle available and would be perfect for a car,truck.

Highly recommend this backup camera. It displays in color, accurate once you get used to the distance, pretty reliable when it rains or gets wet (dries quickly), and can be adjusted. I use it to back up to my boat trailer and I'm 99% accurate 99% of the time.

A little expensive but works really well

I bought this rear-view camera even though it was significantly more expensive than what is available, but I have not been disappointed. It works well in day or night, and the built in distance markings work well too. The viewing angle is excellent.

Works great...looks better.

I really like this camera and I sell a ton of them...had a problem with one, but it was only during the coldest days of winter (-16 to -20F). If looks are an issue, this is the license plate camera for you.

Great backup camera

I have this unit monted on an E150 and connected to a Clarion VZ400 multimedia radio and the camera works great. This installation was easy and took less than 30 minutes. Most of my driving is in town so with this camera, parallel parking is very easy since I can see the cars parked behind me. Also the distance intervals are very helpful. I would recommend this camera to anyone who has limited viability vehicle.

Dissapointed.

I bought this cam to go with my lock pick hoping it would be an easy fit, which it was. The problem was that it only worked for about two weeks before dying on me. I still haven't got around to replacing it, but when I do I will be choosing another brand.

Great product

I am very happy with my Lock Pick. I use it on a 2011 IS-250 Lexus. It makes driving more convenient and safer. I would recommend it to everyone.

Works when it feels like it...

Image is OK not great - not horrible, but after a few months it started working only when it feels like it. Stereo switches to cam view but the camera only comes on 30% of the time... Cable should be longer as well.

Fantastic camera

I had this camera install on my Cruze. It is a fantastic camera and I highly recommend it.

Good quality camera

Purchased camera for both of my vehicles an 05 Stratus, and 06 Durango. Included wiring was enough for both cars, and camera works well with both the stock Durango Nav System and the Panasonic VM9414.

Works great

Easy install. Works as described with a nice distance meter that is very helpful. Great performance in daytime at night. Well worth the money.

Works great!

Definitiely would recommend. Love the back-up bars to assist driving in reverse. Had a professional install but he told me it plugged right into my aftermarket Clarion NZ500 radio. It's small, unobstructive and works great.

Bar Cam 221 it is a great product it works well it night and during the day, if u are looking for a back up cam this the best one, just remember that u will have to drill a hole in your car, there is no way around that it work way with my z120bt.

Great Camera, nice features

I Just purchased this camera last week, and i really like the wide angle of its viewing capabilities. It is a fish-eye type of lens which really helps. It was relatively easy to install. I have it connected to my Jensen vm9512 which is no longer available from sonic electronix. (a newer version is available) this is my first backup cam and it seems like a great product. I hope it lasts without problems but I don't think there will be any problems. Great for large vehicle or even a sedan. If you want it for behind your trailer, you may need additional rca cable. I installed in a sedan and had a few feet of slack from the plate to the cd deck even with the wires fully hidden away.

Great Camera!

This camera is great. The image is clear and the guidelines for distance are really helpful especially if you don't have reverse sensors in your car. The nighvision looks really great. The only problem we have ever had is that when the car gets washed the camera lens gets pushed a little bit and has to be readjusted to align with the bumper but this is a minor annoyance. Great buy!

Great bakup cam

Great cam. Installed on a 2004 F-150. Sits nice on top of the license plate. I now can hookup to my trailer in no time on the first try. No more getting out to see if I'm at the ball. The guide markers is a nice feature to show you how close you are to any objects. Very clear image on my head unit display. Night vision is not as clear as the daytime but no problem is seeing anything behind you. Don't know how it will hold up with car washes as I just installed 3 days ago, maybe I'll update a couple months from now. I recommend this cam.
