Terrible

I was so excited to get the LockPick CHR550 for so many reasons but it's been nothing but a disappointment. First let’s just say I would have sent it back a long time ago had it not been for the fact that my Dodge center console and dash are such a pain to get apart I don’t have time to do that lengthy project. I took it apart 3 times just to disconnect it to reset it. That works for about a month. The audio quality through the I-pod cable is awful. My back up camera stopped working completely. The navigation stopped working entirely. The CHR550 doesn’t even show up half of the time on my system. I am and will be disappointed until I remove it completely. I just wish I could still get a refund.

Installation of LockPick CHR550 on 2014 Wrangler

Installation of unit was extremely easy and performing basically as anticipated. Minor issues with the buttons not performing on the steering wheel in specific modes and lack of display in the speedometer head have occurred. Speed of travel not showing in NAV mode but nav working fine. Added a backup camera on bottom of bumper to deal with bad rear view out window due to tire. I would recommend this unit if only for the addition of the camera but unlocking the nav system during travel a major improvement.

LockPick w/MyGig RER for Backup Camera

I got the Lockpick CHR550 in order to put a backup camera on my 2008 Jeep Wrangler (not an OEM option for 2008 Wrangler). I'm NOT mechanically inclined, but the directions and diagram were easy to follow and it works perfectly. Am thinking about installing a front cam (spotter) in the future.
I can see the iPod feature, but since my Jeep is a 2008, it doesn't have the hardware inside the MyGig to allow touch screen iPod control. Make sure your RER is 2009 or newer if you want that iPod feature. 2008s didn't offer steering wheel radio controls either. All-in-all, I am very pleased with the ease and function so far.

Lockpick CHR550

It does what the description says - but poor installation instructions (I guess 1/2 of the Chrysler make vehicles lack one of the main connectors that the harness says you just plug in... Works without it, BTW). And really really cheap USB to iPod cable. When I opened the box, I could already see the cable separate from the USB connector (the woven metal shielding is visible as the plastic cabling has a gap between the cable and connector). The cable will probably not work over the long haul. For approximately $300, this shortcoming shows a real slap to the buyer. Sonic delivered, though, on time and tried to help with call when I phoned to ask about why there were no instructions when car did not have one of two connectors. 9/10 for Sonic, 6/10 for the product.
