This is a bad a** amp is all I can say

Great entry level amp

i am running this amp @ 1 ohm powering a Sundown Audio SA-12. plenty clean power to keep the SA-12 happy. i have impressed a few ppl with a single 12 and this MB Quart amp.

the small footprint makes mounting limitations a non-issue. shortly after installing this amp and (2) onxy amps, i made a drive from FL to NC pretty much jamming the whole way lol. never an issue with heat, noise, etc.

my only complaint is they no longer make a 2000watt amp, as i would love to run (2) SA-12.

buy with confidence, set your gains the correct way (DMM or o-scope) and enjoy your system

Decent Amplifier at a reasonable cost

I picked this amp up for under two hundered from Sonic last year and have had it installed for a little over eight months.

Currently it is driving four (4) Skar Audio VD-8 D2's wired down to a 1-Ohm load.

I finally picked up a clamp meter the other day and clamp tested the amplifier using a 30Hz test tone. After several runs with the speakers warmed up, I was consistently hitting 762 watts RMS.

I'm still breaking in the speakers and plan to test again in another month or so, but I don't think I will get more than 800 watts RMS out of it before it starts clipping.

Unlike the previous reviewer, my amplifier doesn't emit any audible sounds.

Overall for the size of the amp and the price I paid for it new here on Sonic, I couldn't be happier!

Constant ringing is a dealbreaker

The sound that this amp produces through my sub is great...the sound that the amp itself produces is insanely annoying. It creates this high pitched ringing sound (from the unit itself) that sometimes goes away a few seconds after starting up, sometimes several minutes.

I tried two different units of this amp and both had the exact same issue. Maybe I'm very unlucky, who knows. Also, this was installed in a hatchback with no separation between the amp and passenger compartment. Perhaps in a sedan you'd never know.

It's a shame because I like the look, output, and compact size. I just can't deal with the ringing.

Great amp for the price

I have this amp pushing two MB Quart 12's wired for a single 1 ohm load. The amp doesn't clip and so far has not overheated of gotten warm but, I'm still breaking the speakers in and have not pushed them hard for more than a few minutes at a time.

Fantastic amp

Driving 2 12" in the trunk and I've never heard cleaner bass. Plus it has all the features you'll want from a mono amp (subsonic filter, etc). I've had this amp for a few months now and it's still going strong. One thing to keep in mind if you're going to be bumping loud make sure your car's electrical system is up for it. One of my previous amps malfunctioned and starting cutting out, turned out my battery was on its way out. Got an interstate and didn't have a problem since. Hope this helped someone out there, you won't be disappointed with this amp!

Great amp, more power than you think!

I bought this to run under the seat in my Supercab Saleen S331 (F150 base) for 2 Memphis 10s due to its compact size. I've had a Memphis 500 watt monoblock amp and a Alpine 500 watt monoblock amp to these subs and neither compare to this one. I have it wired down to one OHM and it's doing great since i installed it a month ago

Crap

Worked for two months and went bad. Sent it in and they are sending a different one that I cannot use. They say this model has been discontinued, but a different one (XA1-1000.1D), which is on their website, is also discontinued. They are sending a 1500 watt amp, which does not work. Emailed them and they said "Sorry". Buy the Pioneer amp, you won't be sorry. Mbquart and other amps are all part of MAXXSONICS. Stay away.
