Great Sub

This is a great little subwoofer for the price. I say little, but it isn't. This 12, in a ground shaker box in my 2012 Kia Rio hits hard. Well worth it, and easy to set up. Would recommend.

Didn't work out

I bought this because I had mtx subs before that lasted a while. I really liked the look of these when they came out with the red stitching. I wired this to a 1 ohm load and ran it to a Fosgate 5001bd amp in a single ported box. This sub didn't last one day before it smelled like it was burning up. I sent it back and Sonicelectronix issued me a refund. I replaced it with a Massive Kilo. That thing rocks!

Love these subs.

The following review is for a previous version (TR5512-04).

I hand built a home stereo and decided to go with the best of the best and which inevitably lead me to MTX. I installed two of these subs with two BASH 300W amps and have had no complaints except for my brother telling me he swears the house is going to fall down. I would recommend these subs to anyone.

The following review is for a previous version (TR5512-04).

I do reccommend this product to anyone who has an MTX AMP! I HAVE TWO MTX 12" 55 SERIES THUNDER AND THEY HIT SO HARD!! and they HAVE been hitting hard for over a year now.. i suggest you get a 400 watt mtx amp it hits perfect..my other set blew out like two years after getting them, so i got a new set!! .have a good one.

Great Sub

The following review is for a previous version (TR5512-04).

I have two of these in a ported box and they pound. I have them running at 500watts total and I would put them up against any 12 inch sub near this price and it would be unmatched.

very nice for the money

The following review is for a previous version (TR5512-04).

i got this subwoofer for a pretty good price and it hits hard and sounds really clean. In my opinion tho it doesnt produce the same sound quality as a Kicker or JL Audio but it is stil really nice and loud. i recomend it to anyone who is on a budget but still wants something nice. Be careful not to blow them tho because I had one on a JH300 MTX Audio amp and blew it in just one day ha. just go low on the bass boost.

GOOD BUY

The following review is for a previous version (TR5512-04).

Great speakers I recommend getting 2ohms and not 4ohms I had for almost a year until I blew them! My amp was too big.

Boooooom that has good SQL

The following review is for a previous version (TR5512-04).

This sub hits hard, dont know if its my tuning or the amp i have but sometimes the double bass can sound a little funky. I would recommend this sub to anyone plus i got a nice discount from one of the customer service guys.

Good for a mid level sub

The following review is for a previous version (T5512-04).

I had two of these running off of my mtx thunder 600d @ 4 ohms. They were great until my buddy blew them. He was playing a bass tester that has blown my other friends subs before as well so I cant say that the sub had a downfall for sure. But I did upgrade to the MTX TR55s and those are quite a bit better in my opinion.

Absolutely Astonishing!

The following review is for a previous version (T5512-04).

This is my all time favorite sub. I just got a used one for cheap and threw it in a big ported box built to the MTX specs and holy cow! This is so loud and yet so clean. I really like it a lot. Can pick up the lows of all the way to 5 hz! The highs and mids grab at your chest and throat too. I only have one too!! I really like this sub a lot though. Its better than the kicker L5 i just had recently. I think it will literally last forever if you power it correctly and don't abuse it. Best sub I have ever bought. Don't even hesitate to buy it. For 100 bucks, its simply the best sub you can get.

Bangers...

The following review is for a previous version (T5512-04).

I have 3 of these in a 6 cubic ft ported box with 2 TMA T500.1 Amps wired at 2 Ohms and they slam. My whole vehicle shakes and my nose hairs itch none stop. I have about 320 watts rms running to each. MTX = Great product, great sound. Sonic also a great price on all there products.

Hard Hitting

The following review is for a previous version (T5512-04).

My friend has two of these in his GMC Sierra with a custom enclosure and a MTX Audio two-channel amp and they sound great. It is one of the hardest hitting systems that I have heard. I recommend these because thay are a good product at an exceptional value.

Amazing

The following review is for a previous version (T5512-04).

I Replaced my 2 thunder 4500s with 2 5500s and the difference is amazing. The 55s hit much harder and sound much better. A whole lot clear and cleaner bass. Great sub and totally worth it.

i was pretty disappointed in these subs. i have 2 running of a mephis 1000 watt amp and my girlfriends 4500 hit harder. these are nothing special but not bad for the money.
