Excellent clarity

These speaker can handle a suprising amount of bass without distorting, even at high volumes. They sound crystal clear and they kick like 8" subs. Well worth the money.

Follow up review!

After 2 years of use, the speakers sound great since it has been thoroughly broken-in. I installed a cheap sub set-up last year and works well with the speakers. Two years ago, I bought 2 pairs for my 2010 Honda Pilot with a better sub set-up. Sounds really awesome! I recommend this to people who are on a budget.

Just plain awesome

Put these in the soundbar on my 2000 jeep tj. They were shallow enough that i could fit them due to the fact that factory only installs 5 1/4". Even though they are shallow they give some good bass. Awesome product for the money.

Very nice speaker!

I bought a set of 6-1/2's and a set of 6x9's for my 78 bronco, I powered them off of the deck and they absolutely scream! They are so crisp and clear after you get them set up properly that you wont believe it!

great speakers

Didnt order them though sonic but I just bought two pairs and installed them in a 1996 jetta and it sounds killer. Diffently would buy agian... I dont know if it's cuz I bought through a diff company but i didn't get stickers thats the only down side lol

Great Value

For their cost, these a good mid-level speakers with excellent highs, and decent lows. I drive them from the head unit amp, so even with modest power they sound good.

MTX TERMINATOR #653 KILLER SPEAKERS FOR THE MONEY

I was going to replace the speakers in my 2000 Saturn SL2 with factory original speakers. In doing research I found the MTX terminators to be a better replacement. For my Saturn SL2, the fit was flawless and I used the oruginal fastners. I did solder the wires to the speakers though. The sound quality blows away any factory speaker by miles. I never knew this stock radio had such good sound.
I can verifie that they do fit a 2000 saturn SL2 in all four speaker holes.

These speakers are great!!!

Purchased these for a 04 toyota celica. Fit perfectly did not have to use the bracket for the door speakers, plan on getting 2 more for the rear. All around great speakers for all kinds of different music. Great price.

Loud

These are clean sounding coaxials for the money, great for rear fill. Also very shallow so they'll mount easily in most any door.

Awesome speakers!

I replaced my front factory speakers of my 2008 Honda Civic LX sedan with these. I also used a pair of car speaker adapters which I also bought from Sonic. Installing them was a snap. This is my first time to use MTX speakers and it is performing well using only my stock head unit. I am now hearing sounds from my music collection which I don't hear when I was still using the factory ones. I believe that these will perform better if I have an amp since I was still wanting for more bass. I can't say about it's durability since I just recently installed it but for its price this is a steal with free shipping!

"fits 1998 Subaru Forester"

This speaker was described on the website as a replacement for the stock speakers in my 1998 Subaru Forester. However, once they arrived, it was clear that they do not fit without plenty of ingenuity and hard work. 1) They have four mounting holes, the stock has THREE!
2)The stock plastic speaker carrier will not accept the MTX, it must be removed and discarded.
3) The spring clips provided don't work: the clips are too short to reach the proper hole location.
4) The hole pattern for the replacement speakers is tricky to locate on the sheet metal door frame. These four holes must be drilled such that sheet metal screws will secure the speakers to the door.

I spent a long afternoon looking for the appropriate tools, fasteners, etc.
Plenty of work getting these to fit a 1998 Forester!
The speakers themselves work fine.

Worth it for the money, but not by much

I like MTX, really, but lately it feels like there quality is just falling through the floor, MTX used to be top of the line products, and now you would think that with an economy speaker they would step up their performance line but it's just not there, if your looking for a stock upgrade go for it, it'l blast loud and sound cleaner. But, if your an audiophile like myself, these don't hold up, I bought them for a friend though and she loves them.

Loud and Clear

My girlfriend bought me these speakers along with the 6x9 for my Altima and they sound clean. No distortion at all and thats just with the radio. Gonna hook em up to an amp real soon but for now they are a lot better than the stock ones. Get them while you can.

More than just a good bang for the buck

Bought these to upgrade the 22yro door speakers(4)in my jeep grand Cherokee laredo...WOW!!what a differrence it made.even without an amp,they keep up with my 2 Memphis 15's!!..and theyre crystal clear while doing so..btw ppl these ARE NOT meant for bass..buy midbass or subs of thats your end goal..these are to compliment your existing subs..id def buy again..5*****'s

Used these to replaced my stock speakers in my 93 Honda Accord. Even with a cheap $50 Kenwood CD player, these speakers blew me away by their quality of sound. One down side was that I had to re-drill holes to mount the speakers. Bought 4 of these MTX to replace my front and back speakers. I've done a lot with car audio, subwoofers, speakers, and these MTX's make it sound like my car had a subwoofer. Don't kid yourself though, these speakers with a cheap CD player wont blow off your socks, but they do get a couple notches past "too loud" before they start to distort (and each are only powered by 17 watt RMS from the Kenwood). Definitely recommend paying the extra $5 or $10 for a pair of these MTX's

Very good for price

These speakers are incredible for the money I paid. Ordered one pair for my doors and ordering another pair for my rear panels, bass quality is great, shakes my mirrors great on low bass and higher bass, and they scream on top of that, they look great with or without the grill that comes with and also comes with everything needed, overall very happy with these speakers.

Good mid range and decent bass

Good mid range and bass from a very affordable pair of speakers. Pairs nicely with a decent aftermarket head-unit (no amp). Will be adding a subwoofer to reduce the demands on the MTX's.

Amazed me

I was looking to upgrade the door speakers in my 02 Trailblazer. I chose these because they fit my price range and seemed better then the others. I was right, these are able to get my car shaking, not a lot but out of four speakers 6.5 inch speakers it's impressive. Well worth the buy.

Great Speakers for the price, but mid bass is lacking.

Okay, so I got these speakers 2 months ago when the price was $40. I wanted to replace my stock rear deck speakers in my 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid, as I did in the front doors in summer 2017... They looked nice, they are much more durable than the Pioneers up front, and I thought it was be nice addition to my Honda Civic in terms of Mid bass. Installing wasn't too bad. The screws that came with these speakers were too long and thin for the Adapters I bought, I would've had to drill through sheet metal. So, i bought shorter screws with a wider thread. After I installed, I was disappointed in its mid bass performance. The speakers I have in my front doors are 45w RMS Pioneers I got cheap from Best buy, and they sound much better... However, I think these speakers may need an amp. I don't have one yet, but plan to get one. I haven't applied any deadener to to rear deck yet. Maybe an amp and deadener could help increase mid bass in the car... Or Maybe 8th gen Honda civics need serious work in Acoustic treatment.

On the flip side, they sound pretty clear... But after all, I am running them off a factory radio. That could be partially the reason mid bass is lacking. I don't wanna give a bad review, but I will re-work some things and leave another review.

High Quality & Good Value

I needed to replace my blown-out stock speakers on my 2006 Silverado Z71 Truck. The Terminator653's really pump the sound from my stock head unit. I'll eventually replace my stock head with a new one but won't have to change the speakers as they are ready for more power. Easy to install too. Highly recommend.

Good sound

These are not direct fit replacement for 2002 Subaru Impreza. The had to have the supplied spacer or the window hits the speaker. Also the screw holes arent in line with the fatory holes. Other than that I am satisfied.

Good factory upgrade

Purchased to replace blown factory speakers in 2010 Chevy Tahoe due to water damage from rear door windows. 4 OHM speakers with low RMS that the factory head unit could handle. Speakers have nice sound for low cost with nice bass increase.
