Great Amp

I've had no problems with this equipment or any MTX products. I'm using monster cable s202-2c-15 for all my speakers. MTX-TDX 4002, MTX-XT693. I love the sound of my music coming from this amp. Need I said more.

Great amp! Very powerful!

I recently installed this in my Ford Explorer, attached to a Kenwood headunit. It powers 4 Rockford Fosgate speakers with ease. It sounds great and has simple gain adjustments. Highly recommended!! Haven't used it long enough to see if it gets hot or not, but I don't think it will. Works fine with an 8-gauge power wiring.

Overheating Problems

Was excited about getting this amp, liked the features and was happy about there being a cooling fan on it. Never had a problem with MTX before. BUT... After about a year I can only get about 1-2 songs before the amp overheats. I think this was an obvious design flaw when they built them, and they knew it, so they band-aided it by adding a fan instead of redesigning. Got great sound out of it while it lasted, but not worth the 200 bucks to only last a year.

Solid Choice

I got this amp to power my door speakers in my truck. It was running a set of Pioneer 6.5's and pair of 6x9's in my last truck. It's now powering the same size speakers but NVX entry level series in my current truck. It runs them with ease and the spec sheet that came with shows it does more than rated (55 x4 versus stated 45x4) power. The fan is a bit noisy if the volume is low but at normal listening levels it's tuned out.

This is a great value for the price here at Sonic and MTX makes great stuff. I had an old Road Thunder amp in college that lasted years.
