absolutly epic

first off in description for sub it says push pin terminals that is not correct it has direct leads. also it don't mention that it is cea certified so it true to rated power. also the sound is the best sub I have ever heard and its just one 12 on a hifonics 2400brutus. I recommend this sub to anyone just note it takes a good bit of power so you need big 3 and 0 gauge ran all around and an extra battery helps also expect to put at least 1k to get this thing to move. it is a beast. 10 stars all across the board.

Great sub, the end.

I have this in a ported box tuned to 22hz sealed to the cabin from the trunk, and it shakes the armrest in my friend's truck with my windows up! i would recommend this heavy freakin' thing to any audio enthusiast with 300 bucks lying around.

Diamond in the Rough

this sub is a monster! only putting 1700 rms to it and I feel sorry for my car. Easily over 120 dbs with a single 12 is awesome. Takes a bit to loosen up and break in but holy crap does this thing hit lows. And also, yes the lows are impressive but the overall sq is amazing. compared to alpines which hit mid bass and highs, this Hippo had the perfect blend. Not the ear ringing highs like alpine r or x but anything below 50hz this blows others subs away! For the price you cant go wrong. Out bump a w7 at only a fraction of the cost. It may not look that pretty and wiring it can more difficult without terminals on the sub but ill deal with that for the lower price!

HOLY $%!+

This is by far THE BEST SUB I have EVER owned!! Had an Alpine type R and a 1200 W rms Brutis before... AND THIS HIPPO KILLS IT!!! Barely even moves it. Got a 6,000 W Power Acoustik Reaper AND MY WHOLE CAR SHAKES!!! It's like 6 12" Type R's!!! Can't believe its half the price of a W6!!! This sub is KILLIN W6's as well!!

low beating monster.

I have owned this sub in the 22hz ported box for a while, and it hasn't let me down. it shakes EVERYTHING, even my steering wheel! and you feel like you dropped altitude by a thousand feet in 1 second because of the way it sucks your eardrums out. I am a very happy owner of a hippo.

Great Buy!!!

I went from a single Kicker l7 15" to this single Hippo wired to 1 ohm in a 2 cubic ft reinforced baffle tuned to 32 hz and Boom!!! This thing hammers. Got a hifonics Brutus 2400 pushing it with a yellow top battery. Get one or two. You WILL NOT be disappointed.

Best Sub Ever Killer Lows

Let me first start out by saying best Sub I have ever owned. I bought it during the black Friday deal for a great deal. I have it in a custom truck Console built to Sub specs and vent ported makes my ears bleed. I have it wired to 1ohm to a Hifonics BRX2400.1D with 2 XS Power big batteries and the lows are better then 2 12's combined. When I was looking for one 12 for my setup I knew from hearing so much about these that this was it. Pick up one like I did or two if you can stomach it put it/them in the right box and WOW is what you will say.

serious sub when you break it in.

this subwoofer beats anything i have heard. i have ran this sub on 4 ohms on a phd3 and it felt good. i recently put it at 1 ohm and the damn thing hurts. i have been asked if i have 2 15's or something. for the price, you can't beat it. love this thing to death. Hippo #2 coming next!

Massive Bass

Pros:

Big 320 Magnet, Big 3 inch Voice coils, dual stitching, 2000 rms, Brand Name has won competitions. Hits all the lows you can think of. These subs are CEA 2031 Compliant thought it doesn't say it on the description. Best Boom for the Bucks

Cons:

Sub does not have terminals at the spiders for the tinsel leads. This will create some problems for those people who prefer terminals for easier wiring. But I like soldering so it works good for me.

Conclusion:

The amount of sound you hear from this sub outlast anything in its price range. Massive Audio Hippo 122 truly goes beyond cosmetics and focus all resources to what actually matters. Big 320oz Magnet, oversize 3 inch voice coils, dual stitching, 2000 rms standard, CEA 2031 compliant.

Massive Audio Hippo 122 truly represents a Hippo by being fat, load, obnoxious, and independent. I wouldn't have anything else in my ride.

Setup:

2002 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS
-Big 3 Upgrade: Power XS XP Big 3 upgrade Kit-1/0 Gauge Wires
-SuperStart Platinum AGM Batt (Rebranded Deka Intimidator Batt)
-DC Power 180amp HP Alternator
-Sony gs610bt Single Din @ 5volt preamp out
-6.5 x2 Polk Audio MM Coaxial Front Speakers
-5.25 x2 Polk Audio MM Coaxial Rear Speakers

-Rockford Fosgate T1500-1BDCP @ 4 Gauge Wire Batt/Ground

-Massive Audio Hippo 122 @ 1ohm

Amazing!

absolutely a beast of a sub. Have a brutus 1700.1D on it and one sub will do 120s...... more with more power! got this to replace over rated alpine type r that sounds like junk compared to this sub. it hits so low and thumps perfectly like to expect a kick drum to sound. definitely will give massive audio credit on this sub. Just amazing! oh and most likely need to bore out sub hole in box. its huge and wont fit in typical prefab store bought box.

yeah, it's got bottom end

I couldn't lift this sub out of its shipping box...
I wasn't sure the magnet would fit through the cut-out...
I've never seen wire this big from the sub to the amp...
I'm going to need more midrange and highs...
The neighbors are going to hate me...
My poor poor trunk lid...

Get it, Feed it, Watch as the Hippo's fat bottom end flexes and pounds your little sheet metal ride.

Best subs ever!

These subs are huge. I have 2 of these beasts in a slot ported box at like 32hz. I got them powered to a power acoustik 6000 watt amp at 2 ohms. There getting only 1600 watts now and man let me tell you my hair moves, broke my rear-view mirror right off my windshield, and my ash tray falls and goes everywhere. I was nervous when getting these things but these are the best subs I've had. Looking too upgrade my amp to get the massive audio N4 amp. If you are thinking about getting these get them. I just wanted to get on here in review these to help out.

Wow, im impressed!

This sub replaced my American Bass XFL 1222. It has exceeded my expectations and i am very glad i made this choice. No comparison between the 2 subs. This goes lower and plays louder and clearer than the other one. Hope it will hold up well, thats the reason for the 4 star rating,as time will tell. Overall great deal ,sure you can spend more, but why. I am sold.

Great sub

I have this sub sitting in a 6th order bandpass box tuned at 32hz and 67hz. Powered with 2- Audiopipe APCL-18001D linked and running at 1ohm at 16v. This is one fantastic sub. Sounds great and gets low. Now I'm waiting for winter to pass so I can see what kind of numbers it puts out in the lanes. If you don't have the money for DD 9500, DC XL, or Sundown comp subs this monster is for you.
