What a difference

The following review is for CTM, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I came across this while looking for something to get rid of the rattle in my trunk. I bought it and when I opened my package, immediately knew it was of good quality. its thick and stuck well wherever I placed it and it made a noticeable difference. The rattling is gone and my JL Audio W3 sounds much deeper and louder. Thanks Sonic!

SPL not SQ

The following review is for RK 6, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I bought these speakers based on some other reviews on them thinking they would be my all in one solution for my car and require me not to need a sub. Boy was that wrong. Reviews had indicated these were very bassy and overall pretty good speakers. I installed these and was immediately disappointed. No bass response and crazy ear bleeding highs. The woofer seemed mismatched from the tweeters by an amazing amount. In an email with Massive they informed me that these speakers are mainly designed for high SPL situations. They did however offer a solution to tame the tweeters. Unsolder some components from the crossover and install a L-pad resistor network to result in 11dB attenuation on the tweeters. At the current moment I chose a attenuation L-pad network resulting in 6dB of attenuation and I am using my Kenwood X996 to further attenuate 8dB after 2.5khz. This seemed to really help and I am pretty happy with them as they sit. I notice the low end really starts to die off around 90hz. I have fixed my low end issue by adding a sub. What I can say nice about these is they have a very strong mid range and that is something I typically not used to so it took a little adjusting. They seem pretty detailed in the sound they produce. They also are very sensitive speakers so they dont need much power to get really loud.

Killer sounds

The following review is for RK 6, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

Ive had the speakers in the front doors/dash in stock locations in my 05 xterra for a few months now, and after they've broken in Ive become more and more impressed. Ive been running them off of a SKAR audio SK85.4 (85 watts rms per channel) and am using the supplied crossovers. They are begging for more power.

Mids
the motor structure on the mids is really impressive, and is just about the size of the cutout to mount the speaker (I had to make 1.5inch thick rings to be able to roll down my windows). These things are absolutely capable of some midbass if you have a decent install (my doors are deadened with murdermat bl on outer skins and deadened/sealed with it on inner skins). They will even pick up some of the bass notes from my decaf mixes (if you dont know who this is and you like bass, look him up on youtube and get his zips, you will thank me later). If i felt like glassing up some kicks, theyd probably dig even deeper.

Tweets
alot of people say the tweeters are super bright. I actually quite like them, while i could see where many people would feel they are over the top, this is not a high end SQ setup by any means, and is more intended to be a loud set for SPL inclined systems. I just bumped them down 2db @ 8khz on my H/U and called it a day.

Summary, if you want a killer set of comps with great output, and that sound great doing it, pick up a pair of these massive rk6s and I doubt youll be disappointed.
