Nice upgrade from the NCIV

I was previously using a pair of Maxell NC-IV headphones for about 5-7 years. Recently, I noticed the noise cancelling was sometimes shorting out, and sometimes the highs would get crunched (whether on noise cancelling mode or not). So, I figured it was time for an upgrade.

I looked around, and found some great headphones, but I realized that I had really come to rely on the noise cancelling feature of the Maxells, so I narrowed my search. Upon discovering Maxell had a new model of their NC line out, I knew I had to go for them.

I'm not disappointed. They are better than the NCIVs in every way, from the addition of a volume wheel to the enhanced shape of the cups. They're very comfortable to wear for long periods, and the sound is crisp and clear.

Are there better headphones out there? Sure, but if you need noise cancelling like I do (my room is next to a loud AC unit), you aren't a HUGE audiophile (I like my audio to sound good to me, and that's about it), and you're looking for a good deal (I dare you to find these cheaper than at Sonic Electronix), then you can't go wrong with the Maxell NCVs.
