Metra 44-US18 Antenna

Had the Metra 44 US-19 for over a year now and just never got around to installing it...until today.

Mounted it on a '96 Ford Bronco in the original antenna location using the OEM Bronco base...just unscrewed the stock Bronco antenna and set it aside. Then I disassembled the base of the Metra so I just had the lower ball mount (without the black plastic cup, rubber seal, and antenna cable.) I found a coarse thread SS screw that would pass through the lower Metra ball mount bracket into the OEM mount hole (and after a little grinding toe reduce the size of the screw's pan head), I mounted the Metra to the OEM base. Tightened it up nicely and its all set! Put a little cleaner/wax on all the new components and we're ready to go!

Checked the radio reception on all my AM and FM stations and it pulls in everything without a problem. Even 1430 AM (KLO) in Ogden comes in here in South Salt Lake Valley crystal clear.

I bought this antenna since I am an avid AM listener and love to pull in distant stations (DX listening)...and I'm a ham radio operator too.
