Great Spacers!

I bought two sets of these for my rockford p1675-s component speaker sets to mount on the outside of my door panels on my Grand Marquis. They look like they came from the factory. Also shipping was very quick.

Does NOT fit 2003 Corolla front doors or Rockford Fosgate P165-SE woofers well

These were recommended by Sonic Electronix for my 9th gen (2003) Toyota Corolla to adapt my P165-SE woofers to my front doors. I ended up using them as I already drilled out the rivets for my blown factory speakers, but if I were to do it again I'd just make my own adapters based off the OEM speaker baskets and reuse the factory rivet holes.

The hole cut in the door for the OEM speakers is far too large for these adapters to be a good fit. Only two out of four screw holes will line up with the door at any given position, so to make them work I had to rely on two screws at the 2 o clock and 10 o clock positions. There is no gap at the bottom of the adapter, nor is there any unwanted vibrations at the time of writing this review, but I am not confident this will be the case for an extended period of time.

Additionally none of the holes in the adapter line up with the mounting holes for the RF P165-SE woofers so I had to drill my own holes, nor did the speaker baskets fit inside the adapters without modification. This isn't a huge deal as they're just plastic adapters and it's not a difficult thing to do by any stretch, but when an accessory is recommended to me based on my vehicle and the speakers I'm buying I expect things to fit correctly.

Luckily the adapters and speakers fit behind the door panels, no contact is made with the surround on the speakers or the adapters. My speakers are sounding good at the moment, but I will definitely be making my own adapters as soon as I begin to experience issues.

Overall none of my experience is the fault of Metra, simply Sonic Electronix recommending installation products clearly unfit for the vehicle I purchased them for. What I thought would be a relatively straightforward install process with the correct parts and adapters ended up taking much more time than expected. The same thing happened with my Metra speaker wire adapters. Live and learn. Like I said, I did end up using them as I desperately needed new speakers and did not want to wait an additional time period to listen to music on my commute to work, but overall it was not a good experience.

Good quality part

Only required minor modifications to my 2013 subaru legacy. Other than that works as it should.
