Overall Success

Would recommend.

Installed in 2010 GMC Terrain SLE with basic stereo.

To start I would say that for the piece itself and the wiring harness, the installation is very easy Now getting everything else ready for the installation is quite a hassle as you have to have your unit in before placing this product.

1. If your unit is a DD like mine, be sure that there are no nobs located on the corners of the unit as the plastic outline will not accommodate this. The plastic piece sits in front of the unit rather than going around it. WHICH IF METRA READS THIS,WOULD BE THE MOST BENEFICIAL FOR ALL UNITS. If your unit is 7", the piece will cover the outline possibly blocking SD card slots, USB ports or other inputs on the front of the unit.
2. For installation of a DD where the connections are on the bottom of the backside of the unit, you will need to do some major cutting to your vehicle in order for the wires to not hit anything to where you can secure it to the manufactured vehicle holes, or buy a unit that has lesser depth than mine.(will try to get dimensions later).
3. Currently there is not a connector for the 2010 Terrain FM cable to the universal style FM port. So I had to cut and solder the large universal FM plug to the vehicles wire.
4. If your vehicle already comes with a backup camera, then the connectors that come with this will not connect to that. I believe it is a totally different connection as I tried to hook up the DD's camera and it would not connect but the factory camera still worked.

Other than that the unit looks good, but it does sit behind the shifter so it would probably be best to buy a unit that has a remote.

It is a wonder how after 5 years no one has designed a dash kit to remove the stock radio of the Terrain and use that space as now all you have is a huge clock display.
