Great Deal

This installation kit worked great. Very easy and fast. Not to mention it was priced about 100 dollars lower than the local stereo shop.

Better than a tape deck

This kit does what it needs to, allows you to install a single din headunit into your taurus. When put in properly, it flush mounts the radio more-so than most kits, a nice feature. I have a couple of issues though, my kit included no instructions of any kind, so it took me longer than anticipated to put in, also, the lights don't quite match the factory lights, they have more of an aqua tint to them. Overall, it does what it needs to, and didn't show any signs of stress/braking while installed, so completely worth the hassle.

Some tips for installation, it's designed to iso mount, but din mount is possible, the trim barley fits on if you try to din mount, but since I didn't have any extra screws, I had no choice. With the rotary controls, only 2 of them use screws to stay in place, the other needs to be pried out, and then snaps into place. Also, you should buy some zip ties and wire loom to keep the wires away from your feet when routing it along the dash, on your way to the trunk, it makes the entire bundle much easier to handle, and keeps you from damaging the harness. Overall, good luck, I've seen the scosche kit, and this definitely is the better option.

i bought this one in replace of the SCOSCHE version of this. Whatever u do DONT GET THE SCOSCHE one, it broke after the first week i had it. The only reason i bought it was cuz its 50 bucks. So after that i came on here and ordered this one for 50 bucks more and WOW what a difference. Its so much better quality, and the braces that hold it in are much thicker so they wont break like the old on. It looks just like the stock housing and the lights work in this one where as the other one they wouldnt turn on. So by all means spend the money and buy this and you wont be disappointed.

PS. in order for ur aftermarket stereo to fit W/ RCA cables, you need to take out the metal brace that runs from bottom to top of the opening. it curves towards the back and comes forwards, but i took that out and it fits just how its meant to fit. so do that. its useless anyways. hope this helps. have a good day :)

Perfect Fit!

I have used this kit before in a similar car and and they work great. You simply could not not put a head unit in an older Taurus without one. They work great!

Great fit

This was a perfect fit for my daughter's Taurus. Though I wish it came with the securing screws to secure the unit into the bracket. They are not supplied with the unit either. Other than that, fit like a dream...

Great fit

Everything works great and installation was easy. This kit does not come with the factory stereo removal tools which was disappointing. Made my own out of a clothes hanger and got the job done.

Dash kit fit perfectly, harness for power was very helpful and made installation quick and easy. The only thing I didn't like was there was no good way to make the cage for the radio really tight so it wasn't going to rattle and get looser so I epoxied around the inside. Just my OCD. Worked great.
