XXXellent foundation for a custom install
After being dissapointed by two different Schoche install kits ( locally ) I ordered the 5804 from Sonic. 3 days delivered by the way. Kudos Sonic, you guys rUUle. I used the kit to mount a Pyle PLD 40MU (which also rocks but it is sold out at Sonic). The Pyle has a Large face on a single din, so a mod to the mounting was required. The Metra 5804 has plenty of extra material to support the dremel excavation. Turned out Fab. Dremel on slow to medium with a cut-off, due to the melt and resolidification. Used a soap stone-bit on medium to clean up, smooth, and blend, etc.
Pros: Purrrfect fit in the 96 Ranger, Extra material molded in for custom hacking, Solid construction and poly material. Super fast service, Sonic rocks.
Cons: I am mechanically inclined, so there is no complaint (maybe when I have to remove for the Video in install, I will whine). 5 minute install, though. My eleven year old daughter could install this kit.
