Best kit money can buy

This kit includes everything I needed for my 4-channel JL Audio amp. I love it. The look of the fuse holder is awesome and the braided cable protector is great under the hood too. The RCAs worked like a charm and I had plenty of speaker wire included. No complaints.

Have not installed yet but it seems to be everything it claims to be. Did recomend itnto a friend but he didn't listen and spent way to much for a kitat a local best buy. Did a lot of research before I bought this kit and it looked like the best value for my hard earned money. Having not yet installed is why I didn't go all five stars. Soon it will be going into my 89 olds custom cruiser with 4 12s....

All the NVX products I've bought seem to be top quality so that's why I bought 4 NVX amps.

Clean and delivers

Does the job with a small footprint but big clean power. Still new but no issues.

Suggestions for improvements... With all these "clone" amps such as PPI, Hertz, Arc in this price-point it'd be difficult to improve the performance. That said, I can see the value in a few items especially for small-footprint amps. Values I like include 1. all wiring on one side with easier access from overhead while installed. 2. easier access to mounting holes without a shroud around it. 3. differential-balanced inputs. 4. Go to sleeves in a 1/0 hole for big wire connections instead of a butt out plug going into a 4ga hole for 12v/ground terminals. Truly just nitpicky stuff, which makes you see what separates a $250 amp from a $500 amp. Awesome amps as is and good looking clean appearance.

Now I know these things would be a completely different design given these are sourced boards similar in layout to many seen. So they're just improvement suggestions should the design of the board allow.

But as is, with both NVX JAD amps I have, I say overall BRAVO! They sound great, appear to be very well engineered and constructed, and if they hold up well, it was a good purchase and I'm an NVX fan. They're as big a hit as their X-Series speakers which I hope NVX continues for a long time.

High end amp at a good price

I have this amp paired up with DLS U6i speakers and a set of Pioneer tweeters taken from a Pioneer component TS C1720C. The Pioneer mid bass driver was replaced with a pair of Kicker Comp VT6s- 61/2. I have always been a fan of JL amps and with this set up I have 2 - the other is the JL XD 600 for bass. Originally, the amp powering mids with this set up was an old JL 300/4 amp. The old amp after 15 yrs went in to protection mode and influenced by Sonic consumer reviewers I decided to save money and make a change. The goal was that if the experiment did not work out I would get the old JL amp fixed. As it turned out, there was no need to go back to the JL amp. The NVX had a very compatible sound in terms of clarity but was much louder. To compensate for the higher and brighter mids the gain from the little JL XD amp (powering a 15 inch RE sub) had to be raised. The end result was that the imaging in the car was broadened. Indeed, a fuller spectrum of frequencies was achieved -as well a broader stage. Also noteworthy, is that the NVX is smaller than the JL. Thus, everything said about this amp is true and I also strongly recommend this product. It is definitely a high end amp at a very good price.

Quality Amp Kit

This amp kit is high quality. Don't expect sound hiss or whining from you audio system if you use this kit. As long as you wire everything up right and run your wires properly, then this kit is the best for the money and you'll like the quality. High quality copper makes a big difference in sound quality and proper power distribution.
NVX deserves a pat on the back for making this one. Good job.

need to know

to the point, bought a mb quart rm amp, was good sounded ok, till(i got the nvx jad 800.4) this thing sounds like a really good class ab amp. doesnt get above 38C thats while playing abt 2/3 volume.great amps so far. clean clear crisp tight controlled good crossover. what more could you ask for

Nice amp kit.

The speaker, power, and ground wire are exceptional. Very flexible, easy to run, no smell, true to size and just look and feel nice. The RCA looks good too but the ends fit on my amp a little loose. All in all, the kit works perfectly and looks good

Don't cheap out

I hesitated to go with a true amp install kit until I matched this up with a Rockford Fosgate amp that called for a 4 gauge install kit. Just the ease of installation was well worth the price. For 4-gauge wire this is really flexible and easy to snake through the dash and under the hood. Don't believe me? Go to a big box hardware store and just see how in-flexible 4-gauge copper house wire can be. Plus, the difference in the protective jacket of the two is night and day. The NVX kit is a winner hands down. I didn't need to use everything in the kit. Some of the hardware bits I passed up. But I used all the rest. Glad I bought it.

Really Impressed

I was looking for an amp to power my hertz hsk165 components and my hertz ecx690 6x9s. I had the JL Audio 400/4 powering them but i wanted them alittle louder but didnt wanna lose sound quality. I was gonna get the Polk PA 4000.4 but Sonic was outta stock so this NVX amp was the next best option. I was worried because I've never heard of NVX but man im impressed. The Quality is just as good if not better than my JL amp. So far I love this amp. Im gonna make a youtube vid in bought a month with my whole system... its gonna be the Chamelleon Impala

Up in Canada Eh!

Ordered the NVX JAD 800.4 due to the reviews I read. I was hoping for something powerful and compact. As soon as I got the 800.4 I was surprised how small it actually is, and the RMS rating is 125W but actual RMS output per channel is 140W!!! Tones of power for any speakers you want!!
Only downfall, no pass-thru to hook up the JAD 1200.1 Im going to be getting soon.
NVX JAD800.4 is HIGHLY recommended for any needs: great price, small size, and super powerful!

Very Happy so Far

I purchased the JAD800.4 along with a JAD1200.1 to power my Infinity Kappa speakers and MB Quart subs. My first choice was the Infinity Kappa Five amp, but I had problems with two of them and was given a store credit. Second time around I decided to go with two amps (4/1channel) hoping for better performance / reliability.
I read a lot of mixed reviews on Class D amplifiers. Many people think that A/B has better sound quality, while others prefer the small footprint, high power / low heat output of Class D. Being an engineer I reviewed the specs and was very impressed with the signal to noise as well as the THD compared to Class A/B.
NVX is a relatively new brand so I turned to Google and found several good reviews. I was looking at the Polk amps and NVX seems to be very similar, with the controls panels and specs being almost identical (and NVX was in stock).
Out of the box the amps had a solid feel and clean look. They have a soft-start feature that powers them up a few seconds after they get power. This gives you time to start your engine without drawing any current. Very nice.
The sound quality is excellent - better than other A/B amps I had in the past. More than enough power - I haven't even cranked them all the way up yet and don't think I'll ever have to.
I have a second MB Quart 10 RLP on back order because with one sub I was getting distortion before I could feel the bass. It turns out that the Infinity Kappa Five amp was the weak link. The JAD 1200.1 pushes one sub very well.
The only negative I have to say about these amps is that the adjustment dials take a philips screwdriver, and they do not have an arrow or line showing you what it is set to. This made it a little inconvenient to tweak the crossover points.

NVX D Class Four Channel

This amp is insanely small but really puts out the power. It doesn't have a big draw on it and is lightweight and have a white led on it which is pretty cool. Wish it had a copy/mirror switch that would allow to copy two of the channels. Love that it comes with a wire reducer block, really came in handy. It was kind of cool that the set screws were Phillips instead of Allen wrench, they are convenient but easier to strip. The gains have clicks instead of just being smooth so it is a bit easier to match gains. Overall a very good amp.

Less is more

Loads of power for a couple of fosgate 8" mids and a couple of fosgate p.1's both 8" subs and fit with ease behind the rear seat of my 4 door colorado

The kit is complete and the power & ground wire are very nice looking and high quality. They are very flexible too and not super stiff like many others. The fuse holder is nice and compact. The speaker wire is excellent too.
Just make sure you add your battery adapter!

This is an amp kit that will bring peace of mind as soon as you open it. This kit is top of the line without question. Look at all of the other brands and even try them (I have had kicker and fosgate kits) then compare to the nvx kit. Without question a must buy for anyone looking to actually get a much better product than what they paid for.

Awesome kit but could've used more speaker connectors

Well the above wasn't really an issue besides me having to stop by the hardware store and getting more crimp connectors. But when paying the amount of money required for this kit, I would've expected more connectors. They only provide you with 4 crimp connectors. Yep, just 4, which accounts for the positive side of the speaker but then you're left in the dark for the negative side of the speaker. Weird. Otherwise they weren't kidding about the thickness of this cable. Does the job wonderfully for the Pioneer GM-D8604. Plenty of speaker wire...more than I needed. All other wires included in the kit were more than enough for my 03 Altima.

NVX SKIT44

Great kit for the price but did not include a sub woofer cable so be sure to buy seperately. Cable was very flexible and easy to work with. Fuse was of good quality. Boots and connectors included. One of the rca cables had a bad connector

OK, in the never ending quest to get a clean 400w+ to ea REV10, i bought a NVX 800.4 for $225 shipped, to replace my Fosgate T600-4 I had powering them. I bought the Sonic Electronix 3yr service plan on it for an extra $25, i knew I'd be putting it thru its paces. I wanted more power to the Rev10s, but also wanted to do it more efficiently in the Class D, and also run cooler. Temps here are 110+ every summer, so you are at a disadvantage running ABs, eventually they will cut out on you when you push them hard.

Initial impressions: its a small amp which is great. I can easily fit 2 of them where my single T600-4 used to be. Makes me wanna get another set of Rev10s just because the amp would fit so nicely in there.

Performance: It IS better than the T600-4. I am happy, its good quality power. Sounds clean and it is an imporvement over what I had. Dont use the high pass filter, run it full range(i also installed the Exile ZLD ( ), the ZLD may also be influincing my tower zone music quality some). If I had to guess, its around 320w at 12.5v ish and right at 410w at 14.4v. With 3 25A fuses 12vx75 divided by 80% efficient = is where I am getting these guesses on power ratings from. It does come with 4ga power inputs with a 1/0 ga adapter... I ran a real thick 4ga, more comparable to 2-3ga to power it. My 4ga would not fit into their 4ga inputs so I used the 1/0 adapter. Sturdy gear, does not feel cheaply made. Terminals are strong, well made. No hiss, or anything like that. I have my gains set at about between 4 of 10.

sidenote: f'n get your wiring diagram correct NVX! Bridged x 2 is the OUTER 2 speaker terminals for front and rear, not the inner 2. lost me 20 mins and 2 pounds of sweat in a full planking contorsionist position pulling the amp back off and rewiring it again and putting it back in there. if their directions were right I wouldnt have had to do that.

sidenote: the NVX DOES get hot. supposedly with the Class D, they are supposed to run much cooler, not the case here. It gets warm and stays warm just powering it up and light music. I ran it hard for about 5 mins (100degs outside), and was warm/hot to the touch. Not so hot you couldnt hold your hand on it, but it did suprise me it was hot. Never went into protect mode or anything. My 2500w Re Class D sub amp wired at 1 ohm stays ambient temps pretty much unless you was doing hairtricks with it, and was hoping for that. I ran it for about 2hrs at medium party cove volume, it did well. impied in this is if you install, use some spacers to get it off the carpeted amp board some so it can breath.

So all in all, I'd say its a great buy for $225. Could you find a better amp to deliver a little more power 400-500w range? Yes, but most of those are in the $500+ range. they pair nicely with the Rev10s and would suffice for 90%+ of folks at a huge discount compared to the other 400x2 class D's. It def got warm, but never cut out and I run my gear hard. I will repost if I ever get it to cut out this summer.

Good Amp for the Money

I bought this amp to replace a Kicker ZX350.4.
This really sounds much better and It runs cool as a fan after hours of use The sound quality is amazing to say i don't have high end speakers
I would recommend this amp to someone that doesn't 500$ to send on a JL Audio or Rockford amp.

Clean & solid

I have 3 other amps (Kenwood's and a Hifonics) and this one feels way more solid and well manufactured. The potentiometers are solid, the frame is durable... And it sounds incredible. I am running 4 6.5" for my doors on this and I love it.

Good amp at a good value.

Running two pairs of image dynamics speakers off of this amp. Have the speakers bridged to two channels so they get perfect power and sound awesome and still have two channels to do with as I please.

small chassis

The amp seems to be a pretty good built amp. Nice finish. This amp can fit in small areas you couldn't before. Im not sure if it does put out the wattage that was stated because I don't have a meter. I have this amp pushing a pair of 6.5" pro Beyma mids and a pair of sound stream bullet tweeters (Big ones) at 4 ohms. Will be connected some more speakers to get that full 200 rms a channel. The only I dont like it doesnt have a rca output, you might want to think about that. Good enough for me

Great amp kit

This is a great amp kit, I got it bundled free with a JBL 5ez amp. Great that they included all wiring for 4 channels. I think I even wired the sub with the extra speaker wire from this kit (essentially got 5ch out of it). Oxygen free copper. Flexible wiring. It's great.

Some small cons:
The ground wire is way too short. Ended up using 0 gauge from my installer since he wanted to ground my amp to the frame of my car. This ground wire wasn't nearly long enough to do that. Ended up giving my ground wire from this kit to him, and using a 0 gauge wire he had. (shaved the 0g wire down so it would fit in my amp terminal).

Also the grommit for the power wire is super super tight, which isnt a bad thing. But we had to actually reverse the power wire to run it through the grommit after drilling through the firewall. The nice looking protection for that section of the cable we weren't able to use. We just used some plastic housing for the cable instead, and the part designed for the hood went into the trunk. It would have been nice to use the power cable as designed. Overall it worked out though.

Still a nice amp kit can't complain since it was bundled free! Speaker wire was great though!

Great sound quality

this new line of amp is great quality.The only thing this 4 channel doesnt have an RCA output. I usually buy kickers amp, but I wanted to try this new amp line. Its worth the money and the amp takes up almost 50% space. Get it you wont be disappointed.....

Good things in a small package

I picked up this amplifier to replace my blown out Kicker ZX650.4, and the result is ideal.
The amplifier is physically much smaller than my previous amp, allowing me to relocate it to where it can't be seen should I choose to, when before I only had room to mount i on the side of my trunk, which looks a bit ugly and clunky. I would much rather have a clean stealthy install.
Next, this amp provides a lot more power.. Much cleaner signal, much less draw on my battery

The amp is very well constructed and tiny- works well in vehicles with small spaces like my 2008 dodge ram pickup. I have it feeding my polk audio components and the amp never gets hot. Stays cool to touch.

Awesome Amp

Running Infinity Kappa 692.9I's and Infinity Kappa 60.9cs's off this amp and MAN, they sound awesome. No sub yet, but people ask me what kind of subwoofer I have running. This thing never overheats, and the lit logo looks awseome. HIGHLY recommend this item.

Good, Solid Amp...and powerful

I'm not one to write reviews, but they have been so helpful to me, I felt compelled. I didn't know much about this brand when I bought it except for a little research and the reviews. I needed a small amp to fit in my Honda CRV. I wanted 120 watts X 4 to fully crank out my Polk MM6501 component speakers. I hoped this amp would do it.

It certainly plays hard and loud. It effortlessly takes the volume to concert levels and then some. It gave me plenty of head room. Tone-wise , it seems pretty flat - which is good. I like bass, and when i turn up the bass it feeds the woofers full bodied power. no sense of roll off anywhere.I have heard amps that were "warmer" sounding. That said, I really like this amp and would recommend it to others without hesitation.

I owned this amp for almost two months and I must say it is a small powerful amp. It sounds great paired with my infinity front and rear speakers that are 100rms. There is a frequency multiplier button that may come in handy for someone else. Nicely built, gets a little warm, hasn't shut down while playing at high volume. It does lack rca output jacks for anyone wondering. I am very satisfied. And of course, got it from Sonic!!

Small but powerful

Bought this amp for my DLS Reference R6A and a pair of DLS R6A midbass drivers. Had been sounding very impressive for a week before went dead. Shipping back costs half of its price. Had to repair it in Moscow as was agreed with NVX and Sonic people. Got a nice and useful gift from NVX for this. Now can enjoy plenty of dB in good quality. Strongly recommend this amp as well as other NVX products.

I had the Jl Audio 400/4 powering some Hertz hsk165 components and the hertz ecx690 and it was ok... but i wanted more power because my speakers can handle itbut i didnt wanna lose quality like my Jl amp, so I was gonna to gey the Polk pa4000.4 but Sonic was outta stock so this was the next best option based of the stats, being cea certified and the price. I never heard of NVX but i researched and found they are fairly new so I decoded to give them a shot. OMG im impressed with thisover my JL amp... I dont know how durable it it but its a really good probut overall everywhere else... gotta give it 5stars... in a month im goin yo puy my system on youtube

Top of the food chain

Listen I received my amp yesterday had it installed yesterday wasn't pleased that evening the way it sounded. I started to have my hifonic 1000 Zeus reinstalled and send this back to sonice ,but I called the guy at nvx he gave me some instructions and O my goodness !!!!! That little amp plays 4 6x9 pioneers 5 ways 100rms each, on 2 channels and 4 6.5 four ways pioneers at 60rms each on the other two channels, and the gains are just a litte over a quarter turn out I'm thinking about removing the 6.5 and replacing them with 4 more 6x9s 3 ways.Like the late James Brown would say this lil amp is super bad. stop reading and buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This kit is perfect for any 4-channel amp kit. Very high quality wires and RCAs. I got this free from Sonic with the purchase of my amp. The only negative is that I actually bought (2) 5-channel amps, and had to purchase an extra RCA for each. Not that big a deal, though, as I knew this, and with it being free I didn't have a problem with that.

Nice quality and flexibility for tight bends

This cable kit is high quality, appears to be durable and well designed to withstand engine compartment heat. The 100% copper power and ground cables are very flexible making tight bends to keep the installation neat. The length was fine for a Toyota Camry and similar sedan installation in the trunk. I mounted the amp behind the rear seat, cut off about 6 feet of the power cable and coiled excess RCA cables under the back seat. The kit included some plastic wire tires, firewall grommet, heat shrink, terminals and protective sleeves. Highly recommended.

Awesome wire, really liked the extra protection on the power wire. Love the color. Little expensive. Used this for my 08 Evolution GSR, there was plenty of wire to run all 4 channels to each door from the trunk. Only downside is there were not enough wire connectors for the speaker wire, so you will have to buy extra from the hardware store.Very low resistance wire tho so if your looking for quality look no further.

2nd NVX wire kit I've used

I had purchased an NVX XAPK1D for a previous project car and for my Jeep I went with the NVX XKIT44 for my JAD800.4. These kits are the real deal and are very high quality. You get proper wire gauge copper wire that's not 50% insulation like the cheap stuff. It's copper too, not CCA, which I've had with lesser kits. The power and ground wire is super flexible for the size and having the 2 RCA's in a single wire makes it nice a clean to install. I love these NVX kits. This will not be my last.

Got this bundled in a deal with my NVX XAD41 amp, and couldn’t be happier.

The wire is ultra flexible and seems over sized, I used NVX brand wire ferrules for a cleaner look and good connection at all points where I would otherwise had a bare wire connection.

I really love the fuse holder, just be sure if you are installing sideways like say on a fender well you mount it with the side screws for the power wire facing where it’s easiest to access. I mounted mine to the fender with liquid nails LN-2000 and two #8 x 1/2 stainless steel screws after double checking it wouldn’t interfere with hood structure or anything else and drilling a pilot hole for the screws.

The RCA and speaker wire is excellent too though I made the mistake of running my RCAs along the door channel next to my new speaker wire runs which are amplified (100w RMS) and so introduced some noise until I moved them, not a lot but I had to turn down my amps gain to avoid some hiss. So if you for some reason can’t run them under the carpet you may want to order some RCA cables with say Mylar shielding.

I really recommend you get the install bay firewall grommets for this size just in case, they are absolute life savers. My best option was to run powerwire though the passenger floorboards firewall and they make me confident that I will have zero water intrusion.

Mixed Emotions

I bought this to replace an MTX Thunder 4300x that I bought back in 2001. It's been through 4 cars/trucks. It was grossly underrated. It was putting out about 90 watts RMS x4 @4 ohms. After 16 years, something happened to the rear channels, so it was time to look for a new amp. I looked at several brands, but not many offered the power I wanted. I was about to purchase a different brand, but this one caught my eye. The specs had me very interested, but I never heard of NVX before. The video Sonic Electronix did of this amp being certified/benchmarked sold it. I wish more companies would do this.

The reason I have mixed emotions about this amp is that the old 4300x made my door speakers hit very hard. I had to use high pass filters. The NVX JAD800.4 doesn't have that "kick" I was used to, but it does play noticeably louder. This may because the old amp was an A/B type amp, and this one is a class D. I was able to re-tune the system to get back most of the "kick", and overall I'm happy with the NVX amp because it didn't cost an arm and a leg. It is also about half the size of my old amp, and I was able to hide it better under my seat.

Pretty good for the price

I've had it for a few weeks now and have been pretty happy with it. That said, it's shut down on me a few times. It is not being pushed very hard, gains were set to about 80w per channel at 4 ohms. When it shut down the voltage was in the mid 13's pretty consistently, and it was certainly not very warm as it was in the mid 50's outside and I drive with the windows down, seat down so the amp gets lots of airflow. aside from that, it performs very well. It doesn't fade out after time as another big name brand did.

Great little amp

I wanted a 5 channel amp to save on space and wiring. Got this on sale and it was worth every penny. Yes the bass knob is almost useless and I have not been able to find another that works with it (that's not RCA based), but besides that I have no complaints or issues. I have it running Kicker KS speakers and 2 DS18 8" subs in a ported box. Awesome little amp that does not take up much space and performs well.

I purchased this amp after researching a lot of four channel amps with over 100 watts RMS a channel and I am glad that I did. I didn't replace, but am currently using this JAD800.4 in place of my Rockford Fosgate T400.4AD amp. I specifically ran 4 gauge wire just to this NVX amp, as I was running 8 gauge to my fosgate. Now, that also might have to do with me preferring the NVX at this juncture. However, I can now hear sounds and instruments in songs I always listen to that I have not heard before. The NVX has a small foot print given it's power *about twice the size of my fosgate T400.4AD, it's also built very well with the consumer in mind powerful, and affordable. Now, it puts out about the same amount of watts RMS that my T400.4 did. 100 watts plus RMS with low THD.. but the NVX seems more powerful with less distortion to me than the Rockford. I am going to reconnect my T400 with the newly laid 4 gauge and see if it sound any different to me and then that will be a fair comparison for the NVX vs. Rockford.

Replaced My RF T400-4

The reason I chose this one is for the crossover frequency that can go higher than your normal 4 channel amps. I was able to crossover my 1" crescendo tweeters full active at 4 kHz with no problem. 125Hz on the mids. Calibrated with the SMD CC-1 so it is super accurate. If you are going active in a system this amp fits the bill with a small footprint.

Well how do I start ! I had a Hifonics 1616.4 Brutus amp which sounded amazing, but kept on overheating which forced me to go searching for new amps in hope to replace that amazing sound ! So I started to do research. Heard about NVX 800.4 but over looked it because I thought it was an 800watt maxx amp and I thought it simply didn't have the power that I wanted. Something from UP ABOVE told me to check it out. So I did and seen that it was an 800 watt RMS . So I did further investigation. I looked on YouTube and seen that they had the exact amp and sonic had did a test on it . I seen that it actually put out 175 RMS and I said it was the closet I could get. Not to mention the reviews on the amp SOLD ME. Today I just hooked it up and let me tell you it is small but very dense and well built. Less than half the size of my Hifonics but is in comparison with the sound of that amp. It might be a little louder and clearer than my previous Hifonics 1616.4 amp. I managed to get my concert sound back and indeed managed to achieve the brighter frequency and clarity that I love. If your on the fence about getting this I would say go for it!! I have it in bridged Mode.. gain almost all the way up it does get hot but it hasn't shut down on me and hope that it doesn't because it sounds amazing !!!

I bought this amp to replace a hifonics brx1616.4 that constantly overheated. This amp has enough power to power my system and barely gets above amb. temp. after extended music play at medium/high volumes. In my opinion the sound quality isn't quite on par with class A/B amps, its a bit flatter sounding. Maybe this can be helped with a DSP? All in all i am impressed with this amplifier, it's so small and packs a huge punch!

Its a solid built amp. Great construction and very cool looking. Sound quality is flat which I prefer and have a DSP to shape the sound. This is my second JAD800.4, The first had issues and was replaced promptly by Sonic's. I do have one issue that seems to be a labeling mistake. The speaker terminals appear to be flipped. The silk screening on the amp seems wrong. Its written -+ -+ but when I plug it into an oscilloscope I see +- -+. I hope Sonics can figure this out. I wouldn't mind a second NVX but I really want the terminal labeling to be fix. If I'm wrong, I wish they would have explained why both amps are outputting not as labeled. Its a big deal for an active system like mine. I put a lot of time and effort in with an oscilloscope on each wire and a spectrum mic I want my speaker polarity to be correct out the gate. I have flipped mine so they are right but I wish I didn't have to figure that all out on my own.

Excellent compact amplifier

I have used a lot of amplifiers for over 20 years and lately have been looking at smaller class D products. This amp was easily installed under a front seat in a Subaru legacy and fits perfectly with room to spare.

Listening to the amplifier daily the sound is crystal clear, lots of punch behind the power in my 4 x Infinity speaker system fitted into my car.

So far the NVX is okay. The lower mids are a bit tubby sounding but surprisingly, the treble is right up there with my much loved AB amp. I'm very impressed. Note that I can't comment on durability as I just got it installed today. It seems like it'll be fine but I'm not certain. If I'm forced to give it a score on that aspect it'll be 1 star, not because I find it bad but because I had to put something.

I was all over the place with my amp situation. Bought this because it was the highest powered amp I could find that seemed legit without jumping up dramatically in price.

Does everything as expected. I like the design of the inbuilt crossovers. Be aware though about the faulty bridged wiring in the manual. When in doubt, test with your meter/scope.

I'd love to see more powerful versions in a small form factor. 1600.4 would be nice. 2400.4 even.

Set the head unit to clipping level and backed off 10%, set the NVX Equalizer to clipping level and backed off 10%, set the amp gains to my door speakers rated rms voltage. (165 rms @4 ohms = 25.6v) was less than 3/4 the total available amp gain. Set the HPF to cutoff everything below 100 hz and connected the speakers...... Lil bit of Stevie Ray Vaughn yes please!

Highs are clear, vocals sound live, I can hear the pick contacting the guitar strings, and the bass is clean. This amp works perfectly with my door speakers. Couldn't be happier with the results. Played 30 min of music and was slightly warm. Way cooler than the old class AB amp it replaced. (The old one acted as a toasty seat warmer under the drivers seat lol) Ultimately an amp is an amp. Set everything right and make sure it matches your speakers and you're set.

I only have one issue really, other than this 1 thing is looks,sounds and works great.. true rms ++++ output. My issue is, this thing should not even have 8ga as the original power inputs, should be 4ga for the nearly 1000w it puts out... And oddly enough, the size adapter shrinks the damn remote wire size down to something so small the screw will rip the copper every time you tighten it down....i ended up taking the power adapters out of the plastic casing to gauge up to 4ga and using the default remote wire input. Other than that...awesome amp... got mine for less than 200 here on sonic

Great Bang for your buck.

I absolutely love this little amp. It has a wonderful crossover section for mids and highs. I just picked up a second one, which I went real cheap and bought the refurbished one. These amps have a small foot print, great power, and a clean signal. 0.03 THD and 106 SNR It dynos 175 watts into 4 ohm, almost 300 watts into 2 ohm, amazing! I am Running a higher end Kenwood head unit, First amp is running 2 sets of NVX 6x9 rated at 100 watts RMS on the rear channel at 2 ohms. I have been banging this wattage for well over a year, no issues. Front channels is running 2 sets of DD audio VO series, again at 2 ohms. No heat issues with amp at all! The refurb amp I bought is running Infinity Perfect 300 3.5 ohm (rated 75 watts rms) on rear chanel, and a pair of DD audio, Best tweeters ever made bar none, but now discontinued DDA-T28 rated at 150 watts RMS per tweeter, on front channel. This set up produces a very loud clean sound! Mid bass is handled by 2 DD 6.5 on a DM1000 watt DD amp. Sub is 3 8 inch B2s, on a DM2500 DD amp. In a Ram quad cab with no rear seat. A custom box was made to hold the subs, mid bass and a pair of 6x9 or 6.5 with a change of a plate. These little NVX amps rock!!!! GREAT CLEAN POWER, COOL RUNNING. Too bad they are discontinuing them, and replacing with a amp that lacks the great crossover section. Buy one before they are no longer made. I plan to, after I buy a good DSP.. I am 55 years old, been in car audio since I was 16, this is the best bang for the buck amp I have ever owned. There are better amps out there, but not at this price point. BUY ONE, you will not be disappointed for the price!!!

Quality Amp

Unboxing- packaged very nicely. I like the addition of the adapters for larger gauge power and ground wiring. Everything needed to mount the amp is included. Instructions are clear so even a novice can hook it up properly.
First impression- solidly built. Push button HPF and LPF. Gain, LPF, and HPF adjustment knobs seem a little cheap, but work perfectly. Solid connections for speaker wires.
Install- no issues, just wish they would have put the markings on top of the unit instead of on the face. Made it difficult to hook up the wires behind the rear seat of my pickup.
Performance-I used a distortion detector to set my gains. Highly recommended. I'm driving 4 alpine 6x8 type R's rated for 100w RMS, and this amp is putting nice clean power to my speakers. I'm more concerned with sound quality, and this amp delivers! I listen to mostly classic rock and alternative rock/ metal. My system sounds great and it can still get loud if I want it to. I wasn't too familiar with the NVX name brand, but I can definitely recommend it now!

I did my research this time and learned about headroom. I really love the sound in my car now. This amp speaker combo is great over all genres. In a lot of the reviews people describe the sound as very clear. I must agree those assessments. I believe these are still breaking in because it’s only been a few days and the sound just keeps improving.

Boss of an amplifier

This amp is small and neat but full of power
I switches out a mb quart 600 i had in for this to run 4 jbl horns at 80 watts rms each and 4 jbl tweeters at 15 0watts rms each and this amp makes them scream the 0 gauge input is great for my 2 gauge i had the mb quart on which only accepted 4 gauge and made it a hastel putting the wire in even with ferrals!!
Love this amp i think it's even more power than it has on the box and thanks sonic electronix for fast shipping!!

Great F'n Amp

This thing is GREAT. I've owned lots of other amps (from Rockford 2 Soundstream) and this thing kicks their butts. IDK if it puts out the power they claim but it gets loud. I have it going to Alpine Type R components and a JL W3 12 inch subwoofer and it hits hard. It gets so loud I can't even listen to the volume up that far it's crazy. Makes my ears want to bleed. Definitely buy this amp it's a great value.

I have had this hooked up in my vehicle for a few months now, and I couldn't be happier. Even under load for extended periods it has barely even broke a sweat, still cool to the touch. It puts out way more than the rated specs too, so that is a MAJOR plus in my book. My #1 recommendation for anyone looking for a stout 4 channel amp. Love how much you can fine tune the crossovers too, Love this thing!!

Powerful amp

Great Power with some issues

Very powerful amp pushes my 4 ft1 crescendo tweeters and 4 pwx crescendo nice small design only issues i had on the first day is that 0gauge adapter cuts the remote wire if you screw it with even a little pressure you have to be careful with that also my screws for the 0 gauge adapter dont work no more they fall off and dont grip the adapter it seems to be a common problem with this amp so be careful to not even hand tight it to much or your wires will come lose
