Loving the MVPA4

Needed some strong power but also able to fit into a tight space. Have one of these MVPA4 powering a pair of 100W Kicker 4" coax in the dash and a pair of 80 Watt Polk 6.5" coax in the doors, it plays loud and clear, no distortion even when it is as loud as is still comfortable. Easily fits under the seat. Also have the MVPA1 right beside it powering a 400 Watt Kicker dual 8" enclosed sub box under the other seat. The subs hit surprisingly hard and full. Really pleased with the system. Only cons is the terminal connections are somewhat tight and difficult to get the speaker, power, ground and power-on-signal wires hooked up (I had to take some U shaped terminal connectors and shave them narrower on my grinder to get them to fit. I guess that is the price to be paid for such a SMALL package, and these amps are small; but they put out big time. Also the MVPA1 doesn't have a hardwired remote boost control like many mono amps do; not a big deal though as I just placed a generic boost controller in line with the RCA low level cables between the head unit and amp and it works great. These are the reasons for the 4 stars otherwise it would have been 5 stars all across the board. Very impressive compact yet satisfying system and all you can see is the head unit, every this else is under the seats! I've put together many systems in my lifetime but this one is one of my favorites because it sounds SO good but also takes away NO interior space and looks factory. Am buying more of these for my other vehicles.

"Like New Open Box" Not so much.

I have ordered many items from Sonic over the years but this was my first "open box". It said it was "like new" condition, but what showed up was what one would find on CL or FB marketplace for $20. The amp was very beat up, bent RCA inputs, missing output terminal screws, large scratches, rust, and smelled like it had been on fire.

I never even bothered to hook it up. I filed an RMA and a week later after contacting customer service they approved the return. The unit was received back as of the day of this posting.

I really did want an amp but not this mislabeled unit at a near retail price. I understand this is a good amp and my issue was just with an "open box" example but I want to be honest with my experience.

great little mini amp for behind the dash. small and does more than rated power. no complaints.

NVX MVPA4 Open Box

Only thing I wish the amp had was a remote boost control capability. No problem, I just wired a boost controller inline with the RCA low level cables (has RCA inputs and outputs with a rotary dial to vary the signal level), instead of a 'factory' controller switch that inputs to the amp directly. Amp performs wonderfully, has plenty of clean power (running a pair of Kicker 4" coax and a pair of 6.5" Polk coax. Also using the MVPA1 to power a Kicker dual 8" subs (actually one driver and a passive radiator in an angled enclosure). Small amps for tight spaces but they put out plenty of clean power. One of the refurb MVP4's I bought has a bad left channel, unfortunately by the time I contacted Sonic they said it was past warranty so I am stuck with it. The others seem OK.
