Best bang for the buck

DO NOT buy Non-Name brand kits that are under 50$, Get this one, NVX is a brand name and they don't cut corners on their products. This kit is everything I needed to install my 12" Rockford Fosgate sub, The gauge is true to spec, everything is fine, the RCA cables are top notch, highly recommend

I dont think I can find another kit that is as good as this one. Sure is very high quality as well as the materials of the sure insulator. It just feels right. Realy heavybduty too. Just buy it. Good stuff.

The Real Deal

I originally purchased this kit because it was a good price and I liked the idea of having true-gauge wire. I was leery of the stuff at my local store as it looked a little cheap. Lots of plastic and not much wire. Not the case here. This is a high-quality wiring kit that gets you everything you need for a basic amp install. Convenient markings on the wire to help you lace the fuse holder and measure your speaker wire. High quality covering and wire, very flexible and plenty of length to help you do a quality job. The connectors supplied could be a little better, but they did do the job. It is nice they are stiff metal, but hand-crimping effectively was a little rough. That is a minor complaint.

I have since purchased a second kit for another amp and from now on NVX is a go-to brand for me.

professional look

I got this for free when i purchased my amp that it was recommended for. I was a little skeptical at first. But after a quick reference to my apm's manual and a little reassurance from the knowledgeable techs at sonic, i was ready. The whole kit come with everything you need and more. The quality is great and looks awesome. I also got a nvx bass knob as well. Thanks sonic.

Not for everyone

First of all, I purchased this with low expectations. I recently got a new truck and wanted to add some extra bass to the factory Bose system it came with without doing a full system build. I chose this one based on price, history with NVX products, reading reviews on other brands, and the fact this one has a port where others do not. I will say I am not surprised that this really didn't add much more bass to my Bose system. I am used to doing the whole sub + box + amp build in my vehicles so compared to that this really lacks. If you are short on space and can fit a shallow sub or a 6.5" you will get more bass from those than with this. HOWEVER, I decided to move it to my daughter's car (Mazda 3) under her seat since she does not have a premium factory system and it did greatly improve what she had. The best way to sum this up is if you have factory premium sound this will not do much, if you're used to running normal sub builds this will disappoint you BUT if you have a basic factory audio and just want bass that compares to a premium factory system and can fit this in the cab of your vehicle then this is the best one for the money. 2 stars for me, 4 stars for my daughter, overall 3 stars.

"Mr. "Seal Team Rick" does not understand that the lack of bass or good sound has nothing to do with the NVX subwoofer, but instead it's because of the automatic equalizer built into the crappy Bose system (or he's a terrible installer). As Mr. Rick turns up his volume, the Bose system rolls off (turns down) the bass, protecting their crappy $2 speakers. Because of that factory EQ, any add-on subwoofer will sound like crap unless a compensation circuit (like an AC LC2i or JL Fix) is put in line with the input signal.
I would suggest you remove this review as it's inaccurate and not fairly representing NVX's capabilities.

Keep Your Expectations In Check; 2015 Nissan Frontier

***Update After A Year Or So***
~Just like the previous generation 8" version that I replaced with this newer version, it has been over a year with absolutely no problems. It has never overheated or caused a single problem. Keep in mind I don't ever expect it to make my roof flex so it rarely gets turned up anywhere near max. It may hit the slightest bit lower but still I think the lower frequency floor is @30 Hz. Still a great sub in the right application and with the right expectations. For the money, a real winner from NVX.~
~An install note, the old bass knob that I used with the previous generation doesn't seem to be compatible with this generation. Hooked up the new, included bass knob and it works great. ~


I owned the previous, sealed, 8", 125 watt version. This 10" version does indeed hit lower and is also a bit louder. The previous version I loved as well but would have liked a bit "more". This solves that and is priced fantastically.


The specs aren't realistic. If this hits 20hz then it's at -16db. No, don't expect much bass in the 20-30 hertz range. But unlike the previous 8" version that didn't like anything below 40hz or so, this will cover the 30hz-40hz range decently. I believe the 200 watt spec because it is significantly louder than the 125 watts of my old one. The size is just a hair bigger than the 8" version so you may as well get the 10". Unfortunately, this version loses the subsonic filter that helped the previous 8"hit more clearly. I think the lack of the subsonic filter contributes to the 10" losing clarity in some lower bass notes.
Bass? Look, keep your expectations in check. It's a shallow fit, ported subwoofer in an incredibly small box. You'll only get but so much out of it and that's a physics thing. If you want/need rearview mirror shaking bass, look elsewhere. This isn't for you. If you want a "fill out your system/bass" type of subwoofer, then you'll be quite happy.

I did have the opportunity to audition Kicker's 10" under-seat version. While it has 20 less watts, that's pretty negligible. What it did do much better is hit lower bass notes (30-40hz)with more authority and hit harder in general. It's not losing any volume at 35hz. But even though it's a better speaker, it also struggled in the 20-30hz range. It's a better speaker but it needs to be at almost $400. Or over twice the money of the NVX. The Kicker's price tag is why I bought the NVX. It's not twice as good as this one but a great sub in it's right.
The picture I included? That's where it's mounted under the front driver seat of a Nissan Frontier. You can't see it well and that's exactly the point.

Awesome look

I don't like the color blue with is the only downside for me how ever everything else is great nice looking fuse holder and what I think is some sort of heat shield which looks awesome. There is also no performance issue that I have encountered with this amp kit works great.

Perfect for limited space

Made an old 87 BMW convertible's system sound great. Factory speaker locations are very shallow so you're only able to get minimal bass even upgrading to new speakers (ended up with Alpine coaxials in rear, DB Drive coaxials in front kick panels, and NVX tweeters in factory sail panels).

Found this NVX because I didn't want to hear my trunk rattling like I used to do 20 years ago with a huge box, subs, and amp taking up a ton of space. Placed it in the passenger side floorboard up under the dash. Don't expect the same kind of bass from a monster sub in a big box but for a strong presence when you only have a little space available, it works great. This thing surprised me and really rounded out the overall sound quality of my simple setup in my old car.

Might throw one in my son's 530i under a seat. For $149 you'd be hard pressed to find a better value for a sub/amp combo with 200W RMS and 500W Peak Power. The small port is a really nice touch that I hadn't seen on these types of setups.

Just Day 1 with this sub so I can't speak on durability yet but I definitely look forward to cruising in my classic this weekend with the top down as I continue restoring it.

Great install kit.

This is a great install kit for the price, and true OFC! The fuse block is well built although I wish they included a backup fuse instead of the one already preinstalled. The only thing I had to do is I removed the wire loom from the power cable since I was running the cable through a cable gland on my firewall and I didn’t want any water leaks. I also used the excess power cable I had since I had about 4.5 feet of it and I used that as my ground connection. I don’t know why manufacturers give such a short amount of cable for the ground connection. I know it’s not proper to use the same colored wire as the power and ground but since I already know where the cables go, I’m not worried about it.

NIce wiring kit

I bought this wiring kit to compliment my NVX MVPA1 amplifier. The wiring is very flexible and high grade. The only problem I had was that the spade connectors for power were too big to fit in the screw terminals of the amplifier. I had to file them down in order to get them to fit.

this kit worked for me. I installed the powered sub under passenger and almost everything I needed was in the kit. since I was putting the sub up front, I didn't need the 16to20 ft. rca cable. so I used a shorter set I had. all else was good. I recommend it because has quality parts.

I had this installed by Best Buy and the installer was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the product he had used NVX stuff in the past but not this particular install set and stated they use nice thick quality wires with great insulation. It included everything he needed to install my sub and plenty of cable to run to the back of my H2. You can't beat the price on the quality.

The underside of the sub gets extremely hot. got to 145° when sub was playing music & not distorting at all. not sure how long it will last getting that hot. Dumb that the heat sink is on the underside & not on the top. sounds pretty good for how small it is though.

If you want big boom this is not it. I have a NVX 10 in a small custom box In the back that looks factory trying to keep a stock look but cause of the small size of the box wanted a little more bass. I put one of these under each seat and it really rounded out the bass. A lot more rich depth in sound added by putting them in.

A good deal under the right condition's.

I was surprised at how well this little guy sounded. Saying this however, I installed it into a two door 2004 ford ranger. With the truck having such a small cab the sound was good for a powered sub.

I wouldn’t install this in a trunk of a car. You probably wouldn’t notice much difference. This powered sub doesn’t create a very deep bass but it will give a good enough in a small enough space.

Over all, I am really impressed for the amount.

Great replacement for my basslink

When my basslink went to out, I was wanting a replacement that sounded as good and didn't take up anymore space. I initially went with the QBUS8P, but it didn't hit as hard at the lower volumeso. So I returned it and went with the QBUS10P and glad I did. The bass sound good and I cab feel it. The added plus is, this unit gave me additional cargo space and it looks a lot cleaner. On a budget?

Great Sub in a little package

I purchased the NVX 10 at least 3 years ago for my 2019 Ranger and it held up to daily abuse. Fast forward. I just updated my system in my 1949 Chevrolet and swapped it over. Fills the space perfectly. As with all powered subs…. It would be nice to have a clip light or a place to connect a voltmeter so I’m not tuning by ear.

Exceeds expectations

I wanted bass in my 2014 F150 Supercrew. I have storage under my rear seat. Trying to get something that fits behind the rear seat is a challenge. This is where the NVX QBUS10P comes in. I was hesitant at first because the price was so low. How would the quality be? How would it sound? I got it installed this afternoon, super easy. I then connected my phone to my head unit and opened Apple Music. First song I played was brass monkey. Not only did it sound good, my mirrors actually were vibrating. The bass was clean. I then proceeded to play some DJ Magic Mike just to see how it would sound. Again, I’m not looking for the car next to me to hear my music. Everything sounded great and I could even hear some of the super low bass in the tracks. Completely blown away at how good this was with just a single 10. I had been looking at other brands like kicker etc. When I found out that NVX is sonic electronix’s house brand I figured at the price this was on sale for, it was worth taking the chance. So glad I did!

Surprisingly good!

I had zero bass in my dad’s 1990 single cab Chevy and after reading these reviews turns out they are right. If you don’t have any bass and you aren’t trying to spend a lot of money I will highly recommend this item!! When you can upgrade since you will already have it wired up get the JL audio 8” powered sub box if you have the room. If not then just stick with this it’s plenty to enjoy every genre. Perfect for older or smaller cab vehicles like a Honda element or a single cab truck.
