Great sub so far!
I’m using this 12 to replace a very nice 10” TREO Engineering subwoofer in my Malibu 24MXZ boat. I built a larger box with 1.8 cuft net and a 14” long 4” aero port. Tuned to about 30 hz. It really does sound nice! I’m running it with a NVX VAD1700 amp at 1 ohm. Very musical but can still slam low hz! It doesn’t bottom out unless it hits about 15hz or less. There is some port noise below 20hz but hey, so what! Couldn’t fit a bigger box and 6” port in the boat!
Durability is still up in the air, but so far it handles the 1700rms well. Only negative (maybe?) is that the carbon fiber on the cone/dust cap doesn’t appear to have much if any resin in it, so it’s strictly for aesthetics. But the cone itself is pretty stiff anyway!
Building a custom beauty panel to unfortunately cover it all up now!
I've always wanted a setup that was affordable yet great sounding and when I first saw these i was skeptical but upon purchase and setup these subwoofers are exactly what I wanted, I highly recommend the NVX vcw124 12" subwoofers very powerful.
I really like the fact that the 2400watt 12" subwoofers are compact enough to fit in a standard size box to fit in pretty much any vehicle, from a small car to a large SUV.
