Best 8" Subwoofer

This sub is absolutely nuts. After blowing my Skar EVL-8 it was time to find something better, and man did I. The NVX VCW8 not only delivers superior sound quality, but it can handle an astonishing amount of power. A friend recommended NVX to me, and I'm happy I took their advice.

Great value… however

Installed 2 of these in a skar audio under seat box on my f150, the box does not meet the recommended tuning given by NVX and is quite oversized as well.

Have both of these running off an NVX XAD14 wired down to 4 ohms at 1100 watts(14.4v rating as per Nvx) getting signal off a Sony cab-ax6000, my alternator/ecm regulates voltage to 12.5-12.8 whether this is going or radio is off, so I’m not probably reaching 900-1000 watts actual.

These are much louder than the 500watt Rockford Fosgate p500-12p I had in my prior vehicle, but most of all they are clear, running the power to them I am I’m leaving performance on the table but the hair on my arms is just starting to move and my pedals are shaking, they play clear, very clear to the point you don’t realize how loud they are until your ears are starting to hurt.

They play smooth in all music once I had set my crossovers on the head unit (125hz lpf, -48 db slope) these really opened up.

The only downside is to these is that you are not going to find a grill to cover these. Seriously. I’ve bought the bar style and the sunflower and just about any “high excursion” style grill on Amazon.

They list a sealed box size on this page but Nvx website and manual does not and says it is not recommended for sealed enclosures.

Impressive

Never had 8" subs before but wow. These things slam when wanted and sound amazing doing it. Very impressive for the size and my limited space. Installed 2 of these under my back seat, up firing with a NVX NDA104 wired down to 1 ohm, in my 2017 RAM quad cab.

Great overall

These subs are the real deal. What real the deal is is Sonic's customer service. I ordered a 2 pack at a special price during Black Friday but I ordered the wrong impedance. I called customer service and through some kind of miscommunication when my order was changed to the correct model I was being charged more money. Chris went above and beyond to get me my speakers for the price I paid. I've been shopping Sonic Electronix since 2007 and don't see me going anywhere else because of people like Chris. Thank you.

Absolutely beast of an 8

I love a good 8” subwoofer. Ran different Massive Audio 8’s and the NVX VSW series 8’s in the past, all of which are good subs, but let me tell you this beast is the best I’ve owned. You cannot find a comparable high end 8” subwoofer at this price point. My box is 2.7cuft ported and was originally for 4 8’s but I sealed two openings so these things can breathe. I’m underpowered too running them on the NVX VAD10001 amp and the bass is nuts.

Best subs

I’ve had these speakers for the last two years. They are one of the best subwoofers I’ve had ever still hitting hard still doing what they’re supposed to be doing to the max. I have a total four of them under seat custom box on my 2016 GMC Sierra SLT amazing amazing product
