good value

For a 1 farad capacitor it's a good product. The distribution cap makes ease of install versus a regular capacitor without one. The blue voltage display matches my setup currently. It does help with the power loss, but isn't enough for my 600w rms setup. For the money, features, and ease of install it's worth the money.

Big volts

My uncle big bubba got me this cap and I have no volt drop. I have some serious power I have a 25 watt system and this cap really helps a lot.

Solved my problems quickly.

Went from a junky Boss capacitor rated at 3 farad that broke to this one. Thank God. Seriously helps the dimming lights, quality made and looks sharp. The Boss one was all plastic and ridiculously looking and this fits nice in my car.

Great Product Great Results

I was impressed by the quality of this product. It supplies plenty enough power to my sub amp to offset my dimming light problem. Also fixed a spark plug energy shortage!

Nice looking cap

I have owned this cap for a few months now. It performs well. The best part is the charge/discharge device.
The volt display is not ideal for my purposes, but that is a small con.

Great cap

This is a great product. Have owned for about a month now and it just keeps pumping power to my amp. Everything stays stable and there is no dimming of my lights an its pushing a 1000 watt Hifonics hfi mono block. I would definitely buy again.

Exelent value

I purchased this NVX XCAP1F when I bought the rest of my audio system . I wasn't sure I would need one but with having a little Fiat 500 with a little battery and I am sure a bare minimum output alternator I put one in just in case . I am running a Boss CXX2705 amp that puts out 2700 watts peak and 1200 watts RMS so I put one in from the get go .I don't know if my lights would dim or not but with this baby there is absolutely NO dimming or power loss what so ever . This is a TRUE SPEC 1 Fared cap and made of the highest quality material .. I would put this up against any big name audio equipment out there , in my opinion it is built better then Alpine , Rockford Fosgate , kicker , ect.... , and is hands down the best value out there . Buy one , you won't regret it !! I have not cranked it up all the way yet because I am still breaking in my sub but at 65% of max volume it works without breaking a sweat '! NVX products are fairly new but are built perform !! ..Way to go Sonic for your superior product and service !!

Good quality

I bought this cap to go along with my nvx amp and I also bought the amp kit. I really like the quality of the amp kit and and the price was fair on the amp wiring kit and the seemed to have a fair price as well but after I ordered the cap I found it on nvx web site for 59.99 and contacted sonic electronic by email and wa told they would not price match. That kinda sucks that that I had to spend 40.00 more for the same cap and it not like the price match was some off the wall website it was the manufacturer of the cap nvx I guess that teaches you do better comparison shopping but over the cap and the wiring kit were pretty good quality

Must have piece of equipment!!!!!!

The following review is for a previous version (RFC1D).

This Rockford Fosgate capacitor is a must have if you are into custom stereo equipment ,there are only pros except for having to buy it that's the only con and even the price was great so that's not too bad !! There's a digital reading that shows your amps which allows you to know when your battery is getting low or if your alternator is about to crash , I had a system with 750 watts rms prior to buying this cap and after installing it i could turn it up loader without my battery being drained and the headlights dimming !!!!! Like I said A MUST HAVE!!!!!!

trusted brand

The following review is for a previous version (RFC1D).

i have a mrp-m500 powering a 12" type r and im having less dimming and a slight difference of louder bass. if your pushing less than 1000 rms id recommend it. before when i didnt have this cap my headlights and lights on the dash would dim ALOT. now my electrical system for my car runs smooth, my speedometer is brighter and my headlights. but my headlight do dim just a little. btw im running with a stock batt. alt. and no big 3.

Fosgate Performs

The following review is for a previous version (RFC1D).

This works like a champ! I have this hooked up to a HiFonics 1200 Brutus amp, pushing 2 Rockford Fosgate 12 inch P1's. No light dimming at all. No lacking in amp power ever! Didn't have to upgrade my alternator or battery with this bad boy. And it lights up blue to match my amp lights. Buy this product. Nothing but good things.

Impressive

The following review is for a previous version (RFC1D).

I am always the one to say alternator, alternator, alternator. However, for my specific application, an aftermarket alternator was not an option. I am pulling roughly 70 amps of current and my 130 amp alternator was struggling to keep up even with the Big 3 in all 1/0 OFC and an Optima Yellow Top Battery. After adding this capacitor, my voltage stays above 14 volts all the time. I guess capacitors only work if you buy the best, rockford is awesome. On a side note, make sure you provide your amp and capacitor with separate grounds rather than utilizing the ground distribution block on the capacitor.

They help when you have a charging system that can keep up

The following review is for a previous version (RFC1D).

I like to tell people alternator alternator alternator. In my case it's two stock 130 amp 3G alts. 2 mb quart reference amps strapped putting out 1600 watts rms. and I have 2 70x4 amps playing active biamped jl c5 components. I didn't have a problem with low voltage when I cranked my stereo I had a problem with the lights dimming when the bass would hit and the quick spike would come and go making my voltage gauge dance, and my lights would flutter. With the addition of two capacitors the voltage is much more stable. The amps take the power stored in the caps when it hits and the feed of power progressively rolls back in to charge the caps acting like a buffer. If your charging system can't keep up In the first place a cap will not help you.

Never backs down

The following review is for a previous version (RFC1D).

I've sat in my car for almost 2 hours before with the car off, just blaring my system, and my battery was just fine. My lights don't dim when it hits and I'm pushing 3,000 watts into 2 JL's. This rocks, 5 of 5.

Very good, a little pricey though

The following review is for a previous version (RFC1D).

This cap is truly one of the best. Built very solid, never had a problem of any kind with it. It is a little pricey, i think, for a 1 F. But if you want the best, and your system isn't too massive, go with this one.

Quality Product

The following review is for a previous version (RFC1D).

First off it does what it says and is a very solid cap kept my voltage steady and did improve on my bass sound quality the led voltmeter is also very nice. Its easy to install and will fit 0 gauge wire I charged it with a 12v car lightbult like the ones from the taillights.

Overall I would recommended this for small sound systems and to make your setup look better.

Fantastic Performance!

The following review is for a previous version (RFC1D).

What can I say, this large beast (Don't be fooled by the battery appearance, it's about the same size as my biceps!) has done me well. Never skips a beat, sound is always crisp, clear and precise.

Features: It is a capacitor, has a little LED thing that shows voltage. Comes with capacitor installation kit so you don't turn your fuse box into the 4th of July.

Must Have!

The following review is for a previous version (RFC1D).

This capacitor is a must have for any system! I'm running two amps off of it actually for ~700 watts RMS and I haven't had any problems. It's hooked in parallel with my system, connected to my distribution block and grounded to the frame. I didn't use the charger to charge it as it said. I just let it charge itself when I connected the battery back up. Just be careful, that's a lot of juice stored up!

Great!!

The following review is for a previous version (RFC1D).

Personally I never had a thing for capacitors. Unfortunatly due to a low budget, I couldn`t afford the "big three" or even a new alt... but Rockford does exactly what it`s supposed to do. The sound quality of my Type R is way better than it was. Completely cancelled out all the dimming too! I think people get the wrong impression about the capacitors... by no means should it make your sub louder. It's not a miracle machine its honestly a cheaper solution to fixing the issues that our unnecessary and booming systems throw at us! Not every one has the money to buy a beefy alternator or top of the line battery. Any way, like I said.. it does what it's supposed to and i highly recommend this product. Looks sweet too!

Nice capacitor.

I installed this capacitor with 4 AWG wire and an NVX BDA7501 amplifier (4 ohm load, 480 W RMS). The voltage meter readout uses an internal comparator to sense a voltage change, which then illuminates the meter; It is not controlled by the remote lead, and therefore cannot be controlled by the user. This may be important for those with a hatchback that don't want a bright display randomly turning on and off in the back of their vehicle. Works great in my trunk though! No complaints really, just a clarification of its operation.
Included charge circuit worked well, and it installed without any problems.

NVX XCAP1F

I cant say anything neg. or pos, about this product .install went great and everything is working well. I am not running a crazy amount of power just one lanzar opti hc 3502 and the main reason for getting a cap was just to support the overall electrical system. jeep/dodge are known for bad electrical issues. that being said we will see how long it last 1 month in now and no problems.

great cap

5/8/16. I bought this cap to help with my light dimming problem. I have a hifonics hfi 1000.1d. I had it wired at 2 ohms on a 12 cerwin Vega vmax. At 2 ohms my light stopped dimming. I then bought a 15 nvx to wire at 1 ohm on same amp. Let me tell you it hits hard. It helped reduce voltage drop, it helped stabilize my cars electrical system. Which reduces strain on your vehicle. But I will say at 1 ohm, when the bass is really hitting hard, my lights will dim slightly. Overall I'm satisfied with this product.

Good Stuff

The following review is for a previous version (RFC1D).

Works great and I love it. The only thing I did not realize is the digital readout never turns off regardless if you vehicle is on or off, so at night you can see a blue light coming from within the inside of my truck and its pretty bright. The only reason I do not like this is I have had my truck broken into and robbed, so I do not like the blue light attracting the unnecessary attention, but when I'm in sketchy places i just throw a shirt or jacket over the capacitor to block the light.

Amazing

The following review is for a previous version (RFC1D).

I have my kenwood amp pushing out 500 watts bridged mono and i use to dim my headlights and neons like no other. Since i installed this cap, my lights don't dim, i get more bass, and i get too many complements on how my set up looks with it next to my amp. The install was easy, painless, and charging it up was nothing. all in all, this cap is the cap you want.

Good Purchase, no dimming lights!!

I was deciding between this NVX 1 farad and a Stinger 1 farad. I decided to go with this one because it was not only a better value but NVX brand like the amp(NVX JAD 900.5) I ordered. All of the NVX products have good reviews on SonicElectronix so I trusted them and decided to order. I am very happy with my purchase. This cap performs on the same level as Stinger Capacitors that I have owned in the past. I measured voltage at both outputs on my distribution block and voltage meter reads 14+ volts constantly. I have the NVX JAD 900.5 and a Rockford Fosgate P500x1BD connected to this cap. No dimming lights and system sounds very clean. I would definitely purchase this again if ever in need of a good 1 farad Cap. Thanks Sonicelectronix!!

Works great.

The following review is for a previous version (RFC1D).

Great product. I would not buy this thinking you are gonna stop dimming lights. You buy this to save your cars electrical system. Came with a great charging board. It doesn't light up when charging. So just wait for the light to go out before throwing your fuse in.. Great product. I'm running this on a Sony gsx gs100. Amp to 1100 watts on a regular p3 sub, with 2p3's on a soundstream amp with a stinger 5farad cap.

Awesome Product! WORTH IT!

My interior lights would dim whenever I would turn the steering wheel and felt like my car was going to turn off. This would only happen whenever I had the music/bass turnt up loud. I have two 12" JL Audio w3 with a hifonics amp 900wRMS @2ohms. I bought the NVX XCAP1F and never had a issue again. It even made my subs hit harder. I Definitely recommend this product. Set up was easy, the distributor block on top makes a difference. One thing I noticed is that when amp isn't drawing a lot of power, the blue LED voltage light will turn off. But as soon as you start to bass out, it'll turn on.

Caps are they worth it

I have to say there alot of cap on the market. And there all different brands. Are they worth it yes and no. If your borderline on your setup I definitely highly recommend having one and make sure there actually install right. If your way over what your alternator can handle then no it won't help. Connections on this is absolutely perfect there charge and discharge piece makes life easier than back olden days. It's design is perfect for what it's use is. My setup was small I figure what heck I give it a try haven't had headlight dimming problem or abnormal voltage drop.
